To my knowledge you can use the Original PseudoTV which only supports local media, or my last released build v.0.8.0f....
As for crowdfunding If you want to help support this project send a Donation to Kodi or you could buy me a beer. https://kodi.tv/contribute/donate, http://pseudotvlive.com/index.php/support/donations
Otherwise WTF is the point... I've spent a lot of my time working on this project; perhaps if users would be polite I could be less reserved when it comes to releasing a beta... However seeing how hostile the Kodi community has become; its in my best interest to release a final finished plugin rather than deal with the nonsense.
I never understood why users become so hostile over free software? Especially one as complex as PTVL !? I take no pleasure in having users wait for a release, and posts like this make me wonder why I bother... PTVL v.0.9.x is nearing a release candidate which will be immediately followed with v.1.0.0 release.
BTW u/fritzTLDR has 5 points for his post !? that's wonderful... I'll leave the future of this project in the hands of the users... if he gets 10 points i'll close up shop, and retire the project. Nobody deserves this crap!
It provides the opportunity to create a cable-like experience with the content of your choice. The auto-tune features allows you to easily customize and create a solid starting point. From there you can add and remove content with a little XML know-how.
For example, my son loves Thomas the train, well I created a playlist on Youtube, tweaked the XML and presto. He also wants a Cars/Pixar channel? no problem. :)
The type of content it supports is ever-growing... It even has silly things like your own commercials if you so choose, only you choose what they are, it could be anything.
This article describes it best: http://www.howtogeek.com/195099/how-to-recreate-the-channel-surfing-experience-on-xbmc/
Cool, FYI I wrote a Kodi android updater a number of years ago... works great on the shield. https://kodi.tv/addon/scripts/kodi-android-installer
There is also one for windows: https://kodi.tv/addon/scripts/kodi-windows-installer
You can cast your desktop with the Chromecast: http://www.howtogeek.com/199565/mirror-anything-from-your-computer-to-your-tv-using-google-chromecast/
Never used it myself, and even in that article they had mixed results, but it's worth a shot. Depends on what OS your htpc is running I think.
I get it... u/flixxx2 wants to call it "vaporware" that's fine by me! I don't make a penny off my projects, if you choose to support them do so! othewise....
https://kodi.tv/addon-top-authors As you can see I have a number of projects, Most here know whey I closed public development of PseudoTV.... there is no ETA., No beta's to test... I can only offer my promise that it will be released.
