I be dammed if I pay $150 for that service, when the same damn speed only costs $70 with Google Fiber. Mediacom is taking advantage of the consumer with their monopoly on the internet market. If their was some viable competition in the market on internet, Mediacom would have lower prices. Plus, why on earth is there a data cap on a 1 gig connection, that's just asinine, just another ploy to get more of your money. Not to mention the fact that you have to rent their modem, even though Amazon sales docsis 3.1.
I picked up a patch Cat6 cable and ran tests using the Cat6 and the Cat5e. There results using the Cat6 were better than using the Cat5e. I finally started seeing the speeds I should be getting against Netflix's fast. So time to swap out some cables...
> cannot be removed by any home treatment method
> effective treatment methods are RO, ion exchange or GAC
If an effective treatment method is RO or GAC, is there a reason a home RO system with a GAC filter wouldn't work? For example, a system like this?
There's a lot of haunted places around the quad cities!
Ghosts of the quad cities gives you a pretty in depth review, and i know there's a few more books floating around out there.
I tried to do a quick google search but it's all ghost hunting and stuff :(
Several ghost hunting websites say that the Alice french house in Davenport is super haunted, but I lived there seven years and felt nothing but *home* Never saw anything or anything.
I could tell you about my (mumbling 30) years ago bachelorette party that crossed state lines but ... it just involved ditching some Chicago (they said it multiple times) business men.
Instead here are 2 tales about Bettendorf. Written by a guy I went to Middle/High school with. His dad was one of my favorite teachers. The guy was hot, a football player and other sports but he was also very nice.

Spooky, death, teens going wild. Not as wild as I was but they were both a fun read.
My husband (also from Bettendorf) loves to tell the tale the time he and his BFF (to this day) white water canoed Duck Creek from Middle Park Lagoon to the Mississippi. The creek was raging, they had to paddle hard to miss the cliffs (not sure what it is called now but it was the Pavillion off 23rd Street and the cliffs were beyond that) and duck under the street bridge next to the river.
I've actually had dreams about trying to get home from Happy Joe's (where I worked) to my childhood house (23rd, pavilion, tiny bike path, 2 blocks and then uphill.. really up a hill) and the water was raging. Despite moving from the city 20+ years ago. Probably a psychoanalyst dream come true.
I've gotten somewhat close by mixing in some roasted chicory in with coffee grounds when I cold brew (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N31M9P8/) but it would probably take more experimentation to get the ratio just right.... also the flavor profile will always be different if you're not using their beans.
Then, like others have pointed out, they use brown sugar as a sweetener and obviously milk.
I I use mosquito beater. Every couple weeks a sprinkle some around and we have no issues.
Also keep your grass shorter and make sure you don't have any standing or still water around.
I started spraying my yard 2x a year with this about two years ago and we don't have mosquitos any longer: https://smile.amazon.com/Spectracide-Triazicide-Landscapes-Concentrate-32-Ounce/dp/B002ITJH82/ref=sr\_1\_6?keywords=insect+killer+yard&qid=1655036040&sr=8-6
the whole reason why cops are around is to police roadways
a wonderful book to read is (Policing the Open Road)[https://www.amazon.com/Policing-Open-Road-Transformed-American/dp/0674980867]
I use this cheap chinese one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081SZBFB8
It's been working great for us for almost two years. Mounted southward facing on the exterior of the house at about 8ft elevation. Roughly 50ft of extended coax before it hits the household splitter which runs the signal into seven lines. Of course, your mileage may vary.
You can actually download a Windows 7 ISO directly from Microsoft's website, here. All you need is the product key; when you enter it into the website, it'll give you the relevant ISO that the key is tied to. Not 100% sure if it works with OEM codes (i.e. the codes on the stickers on laptops), but you can try. From there, you can download it and either burn it to a CD/DVD, or create a bootable flash drive to install it with using Rufus.
The comment about the Media Creation Tool only works for Windows 10, iirc. If you want Windows 7, then you'll have to snag the ISO using the instructions in my comment before Microsoft inevitably takes the page down, since Windows 7 will be unsupported in a few months.
I have a pair I got on Amazon, Titan Owl 9" titanium with a carry bag. Not sure where to get them local, but I'd try maybe at the Asian grocery on River Drive & Brown in Davenport if you need to shop local.
Google: Mediacom compatible modem
They have a PDF that I can't link here. I bought a refurbished https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DY16W2Z/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_NrWEEb0Y61TP0 for like half price (60ish?) on Amazon (see refurbished used link below price). Super easy to set up. I bought a pretty cheap router, but I didn't really need anything too powerful.
BO3, but I have pre-ordered the CoD Infinite Warfare w/ the remaster of Modern Warfare. Mainly got it for the remaster of Modern Warfare.
I have Mediacrap @ 100Mb down and 10Mb up with a 1Tb data cap. With 4 people in the household (no cable) streaming and playing games, we use up pretty much all of that cap. Just make sure you buy your own cable modem and make sure they do not bill you for the modem once you have returned theirs and have yours up and running. They charge $5 month rental fee for their modem indefinitely...
The cable modem I use:
> replaced our modem about 10 times
Don't use their crap modem, that's part of the problem and you get charged $5 a month forever. I use NETGEAR DOCSIS 3.0 - High Speed Cable Modem (CMD31T), it does pretty good. Also, if you have any splitters on the coaxial coming in, that will drop the speed.
I have had mediacom service at 3 houses now. 3 things to learn
I basically use this app- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.novvia.fispy&hl=en
T mobile has no presence here, so for tmobile it shows IWireless, which does not support the data. Phone works fine though.
I usually just switch to US Cellular or sprint and it works great
