Yeah I have run into this issue before, some models of our bike require a longer chain than a usual 7 speed bike. Try this:
Overkill? Maybe. Comes with $5000 coverage? Yes. Heavy? Oh heck yes. But it's not a problem when you got a ebike. Love my lock and don't worry about the bike anywhere with this baby on it. I lock the frame and rear wheel with it. The front wheel has a locking threw axel

I have an alarm on the bike. I've had one on every ebike and motorcycle I've owned. They are VERY loud and have deterred multiple thieves.
I like this one. Mine is installed out of sight under the basket.

I installed Hafny left mirror from Amazon From what I’ve read it’s the same mirror Rad sells. It features a locking hex nut so once you have it where you like it, you can lock it down. There is a non-glare blue version also.

They're these guys, they're attached with hooks over the frame and a few zip ties at strategic points to stop them from rattling.
Shots of them when they're not full of stuff.
I pinched the hook parts closed a bit to better match the RR frame size, and I used a different set of machine screws & nuts to attach them. The screws that they came with only had threading on the bottom 1/4 of the screw, so they wouldn't have cinched down tight enough. Using a regular screw with thread all the way fixed that.
I do, and they do. Handy little things.

THIS seems to work according to reviews
I’m halfway to what you’re looking to do. I switched out the hex bolts on the passenger seat for threaded rod and through-hole knobs. I have not figured out a basket yet. Might go with the rad one.

Also, this wasn’t my idea. Found it here or on YouTube somewhere.
These bags may fit in the lower area.
There are quite a few other choices as well. Looks like you have some good spaces.
I order this one for the weight capicity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091W2X4R5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_G40SYZA02HK476F3TQ54?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 for my rw4. It clamps on the the wood and doesn't move.bike seat mount
Where can I get a chain replacement for the RadRover 5? I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NRF1X44/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but it was about 4 links too short.
Seats are tricky! I tried a super wide Cloud 9 on my Radrunner for a little while but had to switch to a narrower seat because it hurt my tailbone. I thought the more upright sitting position might mean I needed something wider and more padded but it was way worse than the normal “sit bone” ache you get. I wound up using the same seat as on my other bike. I like this one quite a bit and the price is pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/Bikeroo-Most-Comfortable-Bike-Seat/dp/B08XDF1CCR
I've had luck with nail polish remover, automotive brake cleaner didn't work as well for me (I'm an auto tech and work with automotive brake cleaner daily) You can also try bicycle anti-squeek products that are available for bicycle brake squeek issues.
I doubt that your brake pads/rotors are glazed over, glazed rotors are due to long, steady braking that causes the disc brake rotor to overheat "glazing" the rotor surface, I don't see that happening on bicycle rotors unless your doing some extreme downhill braking.
You are correct to understand that touching the brake rotor with your fingers may also contaminate the surface with the oils from your skin creating a squeek, this goes along with oiling the chain or any other component, If you get any oil on that brake disc then you may experience a horrible brake squeek that may not be so easy to fix.
I've had this for a few days now on the RadWagon. They fit well with a little bit of tie down ingenuity (it really didnt take much, just extending the hook and loops). Only downside so far is the lack of waterproofing but i cannot complain given its price. I just cant justify the price of the other panniers out there.
It's this one
I looked at a few, but this one seems to be most popular and it's pretty affordable (bonus: comes with a nifty remote like you'd get with a car alarm) so I went with it.
These work as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DYKL1HK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Although lately I've been leaving the top off for getting on and off easier and got one of those handlebar mug carriers.
I had to replace my wife's Rover kickstand and bought this one on Amazon since Rad was sold out. M-Wave Column-E2 Bike Stand, Black. It was an exact fit on our Rover.
I love the center console, I usually leave the top off tho so I don't have to raise my leg as much.
Pro-Tip - these tumblers fit perfectly in the console if you have the top on and never had one spill. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DYKL1HK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use this one. You need to spin the attachment brackets 90° from the way they’re attached from the factory and it locks right onto the Radwagon.
Grab this one! So far so good for me. Doesn’t move

Mine is pretty awkward to carry but it does have a shoulder strap. The clips just kind of bounce off your side when you carry it so it can be uncomfortable. On the bright side, the radcity’s rather thick rails on the rack make it pretty hard to casually grab and run off with it. The clamps are basically the exact size of the tubing but slightly smaller at the opening. I think some rad bike racks might be even thicker than the 16mm of the RadCity and it flat out wouldn’t fit so I got lucky.
I’ve had it for several years and commuted daily on my road bike with it before Covid. Got caught in some pretty heavy storms and water never made it in, so that was a great advantage knowing I could pack dry clothes for when I got to work.
I have this:

Edit: That said, I would def recommend it for a bike with a normal rack but might go for something that fits the rack a little better if I didn’t already own this one.
I got a super cheap one on Amazon, but it's no longer there. I was just looking for the thickest chain I could and got a 2-for-$45 deal. I'd honestly go with a kryptonite if you have the cash as they're about as secure as it gets, but if you're on a tight budget something like this is similar to mine:
My RadCity 4 was a good bike. Rode on the streets and some hike and bike trails and was great. I am 5'10" and the seat was adjustable but I remember having trouble keeping the post clamp tight enough to keep the seat from slipping down after awhile. Just keep an eye on it. The seat was too hard and a lasting pain in the butt. Rotating the seat forward is fairly easy. I bought a cloud nine from Amazon but the realized I had to have a new seat post that would work with the Cloud 9. Ordered a Cane Creek Seatpost (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0845X97TF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details) and hope it works well. Sadly my RadCity was stolen and I have since ordered a Rad Rover 5. It should fit. The tires are fine but a little slippery on gravel. I had a fun six weeks with my RadCity and when reordering just decided to try something else. The step through is a good choice because after adjusting my seat up it was hell to keep the bike up after I stopped. Have fun.
Going to try this 15 mm/.60 inch Angled Booyah Bike Bicycle Trailer Hitch for Electric Bikes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FRQCPJX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_G9CGFRGTGM3S0Q67NYX2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It seems to have less of an inset, So the nut can get more of a bite on the threads.
I was not a big fan of the milk create especially if you have center console as it made it a little more difficult to swing leg over bike. I ended up getting these pannier bags which works great for small runs but believe they sell larger ones.
IMO, a moped/motorcycle chain and lock combo is best. I have a Kryptonite New-York Cinch Chain and disc lock plus a cable for the front wheel. That's the minimum I need to feel secure.
That being said, If I had to do it over, I would likely buy this OKG chain-lock that's Lock Picking Lawyer approved: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Shackle-Security-Scooters-Motorcycles/dp/B08BG46WB2/

I don't have a rad bike, but I have an electric bike with the same Tektro brakes. These were the cables that I got from Amazon recently that work great. I'm glad that I have spares too.
All honesty, it’s your front tire and I think you should use this as an opportunity to assess the hole and try to fix it yourself. Regardless if it’s an ebike or regular bike, one should always have kit to fix a small flat. If you don’t wish to fix it yourself, you should be able to take it off easily to let your LBS do it for you (so as to not transport the whole heavy bike).
That being said, if it’s the rear, it’s fixable but not while on the road in my opinion. Too many zip-ties and wires to deal with.
Good luck!
EDIT: I think this tube should work. Are you using a Radmission? CONTI 27.5 1.75/2.50
I chose the 180mm one cause that's the size of the original, it's just a different thickness.
Edit: I love your profile name and picture.
If it’s a puncture or slow leak in the tube, try some Slime. It works miracles. Even if you don’t use it on this tire, it can be used when you install the next one as a preventative measure. I just cross 500miles on a slime-repaired tube today. Hope that helps

Here is the rear bag. It's a bit small, it is from my road bike but it works for now. Here is the phone holder. I like that it feels more secure then the mounts that hold along the edges of the phone. The holder for the water jug are some old cheap ratchet straps from Walmart.
You can always get a wireless, rechargeable light from elsewhere. I got this one and it is much brighter and covers more area than the light that came on my Rover (it's not the premium light). I got mine from Amazon...

I bought 2 seats to try. 1 was a Cloud-9 Cruiser Select Saddle, 10.5" x 10.75", Black Lycra Top. Personally I found going from a standard basic hard bike seat to the cloud-9 AND the suspension post to be too soft. I guess it all depends on factors like weight, personal opinion, what you previously biked with etc.
I settled on the other seat (MSDADA ) which had good reviews and found it to be comfortable, supportive, not too soft for my liking - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07TT7Q6ZV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The combo is amazingly better than the stock seat + seat post though.. a necessary upgrade IMO.
The long base and weight of the Wagon will make most bike carriers inadequate. Here's one option that looks like it might work: Amazon: Hitch mount bike carrier
You should also search for hitch mount motorcycle carriers. They should easily handle the weight.
What you've linked to is a solar charging set up. The Battery will have an output of 12V (think car cigarette power), which then will need to run through an inverter to obtain the 120v (think house hold appliance plug) your RR5 charger needs to charge your 48V ebike battery.
You'd still need at a minimum a 700W Pure Sine Inverter
I'm not an expert by any means. But I've built out my own 200W solar system on my trailer, and I had to spend a lot of time learning how things work to ensure I can make coffee in the morning while camping.
Speaking of suggestions....I actually just saw you talking about looking for GPS trackers on another post. Check out this GPS tracker. Tracki I bought the kit to hard wire it in too. I picked up these. I used the long skewer for the front wheel and the seat post on for my seat ( I guess that is obvious) the shirt skewer doesn’t fit anywhere on the bike Evo Security skewers
Weeeee! Are those side mirrors these ones?
Do you like them? Do they stay put? I was concerned that the bendy nature of them would result in them moving around too much. Otherwise, I think they look great. Our bike are shipping this next week, and I refer round mirrors, not the kind shaped like sports sunglasses or whatever. Thanks, and enjoy your ride!!
I’ve seen this idea elsewhere. But get a smart plug, you can set a timer to switch the plug off/ hence kill power to the charger after a set amount of time. the phone mount is a quad lock - I have them on all my bikes - they are fantastic, but a little pricey - i do have a "poncho" that covers the phone in bad weather
For the water bottle cage mount, I used this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KC656V1
I just measured the faceplate bolts from my RadMission and they measure at 6mm x 1.0 pitch and 20mm long, I would think they use the same bolts for both bikes. You can take and extra bolt to your local auto parts store and they should be able to measure it.
I have a small bag for a 7" phone with storage below it. As long as you aren't trying to put a ton of tools in there, you bight be able to find one that fits your phone just right. I may look for one that mounts triangularly between the top, bottom, and head tube. It would be a good place for an extra 4" tube, my pump, and other emergency items.
I had some black Sugru and used a strip of it to get a tight fit, but you could use a strip of anything (rubber, silicon mat, cork, etc...) to help keep it tight.
BTW Sugru is great for all kinds of hacking. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M65432U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_LlG.Fb2PH0730?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
so this is the exact mirror I have. It actually does fold in so that you can get through anything about as wide as the handlebars as you described. Didn't stop me from breaking mine off on a tree though.. Remember not to thread the needle between trees when you have stuff sticking out the sides haha. Good thing it was a cheap replacement. Have fun out there 🍻
It's too early to tell if my wife is going to love the Cloud 9 seat, but it should be better than the stock seat, which I think is terrible. I really like my Planet Bike seat, which can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C17L2W/
I’ve never actually mounted it to my rw4, but I do have a yepp mini on my other bike and I’m looking at it now. Seems to me like it would work. If the oem yepp mounting bracket is too thick, you can get one of these:
Thule Yepp Mini Threadless (ahead) Handlebar Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088X7UDQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fc5MFbY9ZM9DV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Edit:
Actually, I take that back. Looking at the handlebar setup again, the regular yepp bracket would have to fit because that adapter wouldn’t work with the RW4 handlebar
For tall riders (I'm 6'4"), on my Radwagon 3, I've added a 180 mm stem riser (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G816GXR) and a 500 mm seat post (ebay). 3,000 miles and counting.
I'm about to order a Radwagon 4. My 2 kids are getting heavier every day and we live on a hill, so I want the higher torque of the geared hub. I'll probably use the stem riser on the 4 as well.
Also, for heavy loads, I highly recommend upgrading the brakes. Either to hydraulic mechanical hybrid (Bolton sells them) or full on hydraulic.
These are the same idea but mine are a different brand. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HCQKQK?pf_rd_r=EHNE2BRF3R32SDC11NFN&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee

I got these and it made the job of removing the tyre much easier. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Force-Strong-Bike-Levers/dp/B07FDX2ZJ2/
Geez... I'm sorry to hear. Have you considered getting mirrors at attach to the ends of the handlebar that attach themselves on the bike grips? Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AVHQB22/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iS-wFb2P2VFB6
Which alarm did you get? I’m looking at this alarm and light combo.
Looks like tubes can be found on Amazon: 22x2.125 tubes should work
We just ordered a RadRunner and a RadWagon. How about something like this for that back area of your rack? You can attach it or remove it as you need. Doesn't have to be this model but something like this. Some are mini coolers too which would be nice on a longer ride. Hmm, can't add a small image to a reply...didn't know that. So here's the link on Amazon (Bike Trunk Bag)
Yeah, I'm 6'1 and 265 myself. The seat I bought is a cheap one from amazon, working very good so far, as well as a pair of foam padded shorts, no saddle soreness so far! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0765ZBZ34/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These bags on amazon are really good! It comes with a quick release bag on the top as well that you can use as a sling bag! It doesn’t have much shape to it so I only use it for clothes but it’s it’s great for if you need a change of clothes or just a bag to carry a few loose things.
I bought two of these lights on amazon and easily paired them to a single remote. They are decently bright and the remote doesn’t take up a lot of space.
I really like the indicator lights I installed on my wagon. Makes it so much nicer not to have to take my hands out of my handle bar mitts to hand signal.
Bike Chain Tensioner Single Speed... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B3W3GMH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I got this one, but any like this will work. I would honestly go for a more expensive one, this one was kind of cheap feeling. It works fine, I wouldn’t use it as a permanent solution though. You get what you pay for and your life is kind of on the line haha. Any single arm single speed conversion type tensioner should work though.
There are lots of people here with more experience and opinions about what is sufficient security in different contexts.
Here is my tip as a Rad Runner Plus owner. I bought one of the oft-recommended Kryptonite U-locks (currently on sale). I got the 11.5 inch lock, and when it arrived I had all kinds of buyer's remorse that I had spent $100+ on a lock that was too big and would be a hassle to carry on the bike. My partner suggested storing it under the seat (see sketch), and it fits there perfectly! It's as unobtrusive as a serious lock could be. It's easy to stow and retrieve, and I love how low profile it is.
I use a piece of velcro on the front of the lock to secure it. And, in fact, having the extra length of the 11.5" lock has proven useful when trying to lock up in various locations.
I thought I needed a brake bleed on my RR6+, but it was honestly the pads were completely gone.
I got these off of Amazon for about $15/set of two and it wasn't too bad to swap myself
I can't give you wear life info because I actually ended up swapping to a two-piston setup before I wore them out.
For me, I use a chain combination lock that fits to fixed point and just under the handle bars. I bought this and I have step through, but didn't realize how useless it was until I got it because I have a step through. The angles don't match trying to lock it to a vertical structure. Not going to secure it my removable seat post, lol.
The thing about the Abus combo lock is that I can secure my bike anywhere almost. I also bought an alarm and mounted it under the front cargo rack. Everyone I show it to, thinks it is a built in alarm. So that is a plus and it is loud and sensitive.
As far as mounting points, I have a front basket and rear rack. I am sure you would be able to fasten it somewhere on those, Don't quote me on that.
> Gotta believe that the internal electronics and LCD are not running at ~50 volts.
Yeah, I don't know if the displays are fed the full 50v or if there's a stepdown in the controller. But you're right, the display is probably running off something much lower.
> Do some buck converters have auto-power-down if no load is present at power up? They obviously need to provide some power to those pins just to detect that a USB load is present.
After the capacitors are charged in a buck circuit, it stops drawing current. There's slight leakage which is the quiescent current, that is usually a few milliamps which is the equivalent of a few small LEDs.
For example this buck on Amazon has a 7.8ma quiescent current, and if you remove it's status LED it drops to 6ma. So it's quiescent current is the equivalent of 3 small surface mount LEDs. If you hooked this buck up to the RadRunner's 672Ah battery, it would last 9 years, 304 days, 17 hours, and 50 minutes.
Well since specs say the caliper on a radrunner 2 are Tektro Aries caliper (MD-M300) then these should work https://www.amazon.com/Tektro-MD-M300-Actuated-Mechanical-Long-Pull/dp/B07C8BTYN8
