What you have is correct. Nothing special to consider really but here's some more details on how it works
>You assign each server a priority, a number between 0 (highest) and 99 (lowest).
>
>SABnzbd will first try to get articles from the group of servers with the highest priority. Within the priority group, the first server with a free connection will be tried. When the first tried server doesn't have an article, then another server with the same priority is tried.
>
>When none of the primary servers has a specific article, a lower priority group is tried. Within the lower priority group, the same method is used: the first server with a free slot is tried.
Yeah nzbget handled it no issues.

I decided to just create a completely clean docker install of sabnzbd and ran the download again. It's on version 3.1.1
It ended up completing the downloading without issues. So not sure what caused the issues with my previous version. I probably fucked with a setting somewhere that broke it, who knows.
I get wobbly download speeds, too. I just found this https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading:
Both Incomplete and Complete should be on a SSD/M.2/NVMe disk. SABnzbd
should report the speed of Incomplete and Complete at least 150 MB/s.
Slower disks like HDD and NAS have a very negative impact on downloading
speed: a slower disk means slower downloads."
I'm going to my comp and incomp folder structures to the SSD and put links in the origianal places so I don't have change any path settings.
It doesn't do that obfuscating, that's just the name of the file was it was packaged by the uploader.

Some things that could cause problems:
Thanks for the heads up on Plex via VPN. I really need to spend some time reading up on setting up virtual machines to run some of this stuff.
Anyway, SAB speed is back to normal here! I noticed it was weird that a lot of the VPN servers (AirVPN) I connected to and ran speedtests on seemed to be throttled also. Running speedtest-cli on my Linux/Plex server it wanted to connect to servers halfway across the country, now it's back to connecting to nearby servers. Weird. Maybe some kind of a peering issue with my ISP?
Have you checked all the tips in https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading?
Are both actually running on the same server, or just servers that are supposedly the same? 11 MB/s makes it seem like it's capped at 100 Mbit/s, which could indicate a network/cable problem.
If you are using Docker and trust the module you can try running it with the --privileged parameter. That will turn off security measures, which may speed it up. At least you'll know if that's the problem. Running things under Docker can create a noticeable slow down, particularly if the host OS and Docker OS are different.
And on that same box, what does https://fast.com/ tell you?
> That's what's so confusing; it's something limited specifically to SAB, or to Usenet itself (throttling, etc)
For the circled-arrow speed test, SAB uses plain Internet with HTTPS With the 100MB and 1000MB test download, SAB uses your newsserver(s) setup
sabnzbd has a wiki with info on testing etc ... > https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/certificate-errors.html
It for sure is affecting a number of providers. The ones I tested come up with an error. To keep going disable Certificate verification for the servers. Sabnzbd chat has this in their chat is all I can say ... > Cert errors are expected, the providers will replace them pretty quickly.
OK, interesting.
Have you tried this: stop SABnzbd, find sabnzbd.ini, edit the file, change the relevant "connections = " to ... 150. Then start SABnzbd.
EDIT: location of sabnzbd.ini: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/directory-setup
>I'm currently getting between 50 and 55 mbps.
>
>Connection set to 1000 mbps and line dedication is 100%.
>
>Does this look the type of speed I should be getting?
No, certainly not.
... but I think you're mixing up bits and Bytes. See https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#toc31
While the download is in the Queue (downloading or not), hover over the file and you will see a few icons, among a Folder icon. Click on it, and fill out the password.

And see https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/password-protected-rars
Which version of SABnzbd?
In sabnzbd.log find the line "Decoder failure: Out of memory", and copy-paste 15 lines from there into this thread. Especially interesting the line with "Traceback" which should be there.

>Article Cache Limit is set to: -1; which I've been using that setting for years.

But still: what happens when you set that to 500M ? Because -1 might be understood as something very big (for example 2^32 - 1 or so)

Try this guide and tell us specifically what went wrong in which step (all output) if it doesn't work. https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/installation/install-off-modules
Do it manually using F2.
Semi automate it by using something like filebot.
Use the sabnzbd settings under Sorting - https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/configuration/2.3/sorting
Fully automated by using Radarr/Sonarr/Couch/Sick/Medusa etc.....
Let's just try this: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#freshstart
If the movies download fine with vanilla-SABnzbd, then we have to dig deeper. Otherwise indeed it's just a DMCA-takedown.
Do you use version 2.3.9?
I doubt that. Did you actually set it up correctly? As in: when you click the finished download, does it show Script Log at the bottom of the details?
Otherwise the script didn't run. You can also try the Sorting options: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#deobfuscate
It seems they just didn't update the package.
However, since you have all the required depencies already installed (they don't change between 2.3.7 and 2.3.8) you can just get the source-code (Linux-download) from our Downloads page: https://sabnzbd.org/downloads
Extract the contents over your correct SABnzbd installation folder and you're updated!
I kinda fixed it by running SABnzbd in a jail directly on my NAS, although I'm having different issues now.
I get Aborted, cannot be completed -
<code>https://sabnzbd.org/not-complete</code> on a ton of downloads randomly. Sometimes basically all of my downloads will fail, other times they work fine. I'm pretty sure this isn't DMCA related, as trying the same files over and over might work eventually. The test download always works completely fine. Those that don't work will creep up to like 4% at a couple of kB/s very quickly and then fail. Very weird. I have't used usenet in a couple of months, but I haven't had this happen back then.
Hi,
You must have changed something, as this is also not the default SABnzbd interface. Are you running SABnzbd 2.3.7 (can see on first page of Config).
To rule out external errors, try this please: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#freshstart. And really only add 1 server, like it says. Don't change the interface.
Then do as /u/RulerOf says: click the wrench icon and click the test-download of 1000MB.
How does this work?
You can always try this to make sure it's not a SAB setup-thing: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#freshstart
Usually you can get up to 1 to 1.5MB/s per connection, so maybe just set the number of connections to 20 in the setup-wizard.
Try different settings first, as suggested in https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading
What kind of hardware is in the server?
Have you added the sabnzbdplus repository?
Not sure what you're running on your pi but see here - https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/installation/install-ubuntu-repo
Although it says ubuntu, I think it'll work on debian but double check.
Exactly what it says. There weren’t enough par2 repair blocks or “slices” to fix the errors in the original file. Quickpar has a quick explanation on how par2 works.
*UPDATE*
I ran into a possible solution on the SAB forums about adding a second server.

I did so and split the connections between them.

Still 2.5MB Max.

I'm running out of ideas. Nothing was changed after more than 5 years. And I get full speed downloading directly from Newshosting using their reader.
670 Mbps on the wire 413 Mbps over the air
Newshosting is my provider.
I will try varying my max connections today. Is more better? I’ve always used 8 connections.
Edit: using 20 connections I’m now doing about 400Mbps on the wire on a 2160p Remux item. I’ll continue adjusting the connections to find the sweet spot.
Thank you all so very much.
Edit 2: at 30 connections I’m doing 520 Mbps download speeds.
The only other suggestion I can offer is connect to the VPN but not make the VPN your default route and setup routes for your indexers/usenet provider to use the VPN. Some VPN providers like ExpressVPN have this option or you can define your own routes.
