Also, I was just learning about FreeNAS which I can install an run the PLEX plugin. Does anyone recommend otherwise?

What I ended up doing is set up NetDrive.. It kind of does the same thing, except you still need a Plex server to play the media on your Google Drive... You'll also need a decently fast internet connection to upload, and also download/stream the media from your google drive.. I have fios and an unlimited storage account through my old college.. It's awesome.

Unfortunately, I realized AFTER I bought a plex lifetime subscription that they were no longer doing the plex cloud thing.. Oh well, I've been using plex for years and don't mind giving them that money..

You actually sent a friend request. https://plex.tv/servers while logged in is where you send a share. I knew what you meant to do, so will hold out to see how content/speeds look for final decision. There is one that advertised 24/7 but has been offline for 5 hours now, so perhaps a spot will open after all. Only interested in 24/7, albeit, I know that we dont all run our servers from a hosting center with multiple failover and UPS backed redundant power supplies in our homes (sure would be nice though!).
