Oh jeez….my first set failed after 6 weeks so I returned them and ordered these. They seem much higher quality but time will tell. I’m also not leaving them submerged when I’m not using the pool, so hopefully that will extend the life. It’s also done a pretty good job of keeping heat in overnight, which is the reason I got it in the first place. The extra buoyancy was a surprise side effect!
Yeah I will definitely be back to update! I got it off Amazon. Smartline Sunlight 8-Foot Round... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FQ64H5X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I actually haven’t opened it yet because I’m not ready and I don’t want anything to happen to it.
Pretty simple to use. Does a decent job. I did have to use something finer than the bag they sent with it. Especially for dirt and sand.
But I just saw the rechargeable spa vacuum jknel22 posted and I might get that.

I wrote up a review on the product page as well, it’s the only one with a picture.
And of course you can’t be IN the tub with the heater on, but with insulation it’ll last. If you wanted to have hot water to add while you’re in it, I thought of this: use the electric heater to heat up a five gallon bucket of water to dump into the tub if you need it!
Just throw one of these in. My stock tank got up to 110 by leaving in it about 12 hours on a high of 81 degrees day. I did wrap my tank in a layer of insulation and a wooden skirt, as well as cover it. But it will heat it. Note you can’t be in it with the device.

That is a u-pol spray on truck bed liner. Cleaned tank, sanded interior with 80 grit, cleaned tank, wiped down interior with vinegar, primed with rattle can etching primer and let cure for 48 hours, sprayed with the bed liner and let cure for 2 weeks. Filled tank! It holds up very well to the water and chlorine.

There are some on amazon that are submersible battery or solar.
I found one in walmart for $15 w a remote control and uses a magnet which is pretty sturdy and bright.
I wanted a strip but my daughter would remove it just as fast as I put them up.

I didn’t go through all those steps, which may be why my paint flecks on the bottom, but I do really like it.
I'll be using something like this to extend the output hose from the pump when it's time to drain for the year. This way I can route it around the corner of the house and down the driveway, to the sewer.
Looks like there maybe another solution, buy this kit, https://www.amazon.com/Intex-26005E-LARGE-Fittings-1900-2500GPH-Strainers/dp/B07NY58MCC then pull the internal white piece out of the jet assembly and amazingly enough the strainer fitting screws onto the inner threads on the face of the jet assembly.
I saw one online where they hard piped the return with PVC and made a waterfall. They ran the return to the top edge of the tank, turned it horizontal, and just cut a slit down the length of the pipe. It looked like it worked surprisingly well.
Another option would be to use standard above ground pool connections and buy one of the ready made waterfall type spouts like below: https://www.amazon.com/Waterfall-Fountain-Sprinklers-InGround-Ground/dp/B088TB4VGW/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=pool+waterfall&qid=1595251497&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-10
Apparently intex makes one as well. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Multi-Color-Waterfall-Cascade-Hydroelectric/dp/B073RVQ6NG
Can I break apart the 3 inch tabs I have to make them smaller and therefore less Chlorine? I couldn’t find any 1 inch in the area and amazon options would get here until mid august. If I didn’t use Chlorine and just checked the water each day and dumped when the water quality dips below a certain threshold would that keep us safe from algae and cryptosporidium? Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I did some really cursory research and ended up with the HArris ProForce 1 HP. Way overkill, can pump for pools 4x or 5x times the size of these little guys. But, looking at peoples reviews on Amazon, the Intex pumps are prone to have a shorter lifespan.
I checked reviews here: Harris H1572730 ProForce 1.5 HP Above Ground Pool Pump 115V https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BSV5N9M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YUH9EbKRR35NZ
