a 'short-throw' projector may be good for you if you'll be working mostly inside, and with limited distance from the projector to the wall.
A good resource I have used for information and specs is www.projectorcentral.com
this is the projector I ended up getting for a project a while back. 1080p, short-throw, good refresh rate, good reviews, and decent price. There may be better options out by now, but I have been pretty happy with this projector.

...Some arduino code. Dm me to send it to you when I have time to search for it. Same wifi connection and you're good to go. Other option that is cabled could be with the same strips but with the Advatek pixlite product. Also a good power source. Cheers.

Sort of, but more the conversation you have with the person/organisation booking you.
The obvious things, like:

Basically anything you'll want from them or they'll want from you should be sorted before you turn up.
