I brought a small running belt. This exact one - Amazon link. Took roughly 300-400 calories with me for each lap, which equated to 1 or 2 gels, shot bloks, sports beans, a protein bar or any of a variety of small, wrapped snacks. That's in addition to what I was eating between each pit stop. I hit 55 miles this year, for reference.
I saw more than a few folks with hydration packs on the course. I don't like having to deal with that while on obstacles but I might bring one for certain laps near the end of next WTM, where you typically find a few folks who are bonking on energy, cramping or in various states of needs (water, food, salt, electrolytes). Sucked to see folks in that situation and only be able to offer 3 shot bloks to the first person before running out of my own fuel.
Mad Grips and cut the fingers off. They are pretty cheap and will protect your hands. Still not as good of a grip as your bare hands when wet so be aware of that.

I use a Black Diamond Storm for my headlight, and clip and Adventure Light onto the strap. Works for me; use what works for you. Yes, glowsticks are adequate.
I disagree I have run 4 in vibrams and loved it (but i hate wearing shoes & have really touch feet). I did wear socks because little rocks get inside and chafe (that's when I would run regularly so I wasn't risking running 12 mi with rocks rubbing on my foot). Not sure if you have any toe socks but Injinji makes the ones I wear.
Do it. Just make sure to take care of your feet. Blisters suck, and running again on just healing blisters sucks more. Vaseline all over your feet before putting on your socks, or use this stuff. It's magical. I did 50 miles at WTM liberally applying this stuff. My knees were toast, but I got absolutely zero blisters on my feet.

Finally had to replace them with new ones after OCRWC Canada 2016. After every race i just rinse them off an when i get home throw em in the washing machine an let em hang dry.
I initially both one for just my right ankle (i sprained it a week before Wintergreen) did the job well to get me thru the race, afterward both one for my left an since then wear them for every race.
Besides everything you mentioned...running shorts for bottoms (I also wear compression tights underneath since I hate crawling on grass etc), dri fit/ compression shirts for tops (you would want to wear something that dries quick and especially, don't want to wear anything loose). NO glasses. It will be too much of a burden and a high chance of losing them in those semi-deep water obstacles..it's all on you really. Also, for shoes, I would always duct tape mine around my laces since I don't like to donate them and of course, to prevent rocks etc from getting inside; it really helps!! You could check out how I taped up my shoes in this video (have been running in these shoes for over 5 years lol).

and for my tights etc..I wear this set for years. Still going like a champ! (buy a size or 2 larger tho, it's pretty tight). and GOOD LUCK!
I use these too and cut off the fingers to make them fingerless. I throw them on for all the wall climbing things and such but off for Funky Monkey.

I wear ASICS Men's Gel-Fuji Trainer 3 Trail Running Shoes for both trail running and mudders. They hold up great race to race, have great grip, and have a drainage system built in so that they don't retain water. Here they are on Amazon
Above all else I recommend these shoes. Especially if running up a mountainous TM course.
There's lots of good comments in here about clothes that help you stay dry and wearing compression shorts. Something I just bought for World's Toughest Mudder is a Neoprene Hat. I got it from Amazon for $30. They've got cheaper ones, but this is the one I got.
I've got a pretty big head so I ordered the large and the extra large to see which fit best. The XL is just too big. Unless you have a Barry Bonds head you're probably good with the medium or the large. I haven't used it yet, but I've tried it on and it feels great.
