honestly, I had never done this before I made this meme out of pure frustration when a med completely ignored what I told him at night. I use kapwing.com as a simple and free (and watermark-free) way to make these.
Use a tool like Gyazo: https://gyazo.com/en or Puush: http://puush.me/
They have shortcuts you can press then just drag over the portion of your screen you want to screenshot and then it uploads it for you.
Print screen shots shouldn't look that bad though, are you running like potato resolution or something? o_0
BMG is getting desperate. They've actually gone and asked the bot's makers for the code. Yeah, like that's going to work.
Somebody using the same service provider as you is probably doing something unsavoury. You can get around IP bans most of the time by using either a proxy server, a VPN, or TOR. Yes, I know it's kind of weird that I'm recommending TOR for a browser game. Expect higher load times with TOR, because the network is not particularly known for its blazing-fast speeds.
If TOR is not your cup of tea, try a VPN. I personally use TunnelBear, because it doesn't cost anything. It works in Chrome as an extension or as a standalone application that you can download. You can try using different countries. You get 500 MB of data per month for free, and after that service will terminate for the rest of the month. Just remember to switch it off when you're not playing Salem.
I wasn't paid anything to endorse these, by the way.
You should add some commentary over the videos, either live or in-post. The constant static shows that you have a mic, so why not use it?
Consider using a screen recording software that doesn't leave a watermark. I personally recommend Open Broadcast Software.
A quick Python script, which simulates the actions of town members shooting and dying. Repeats for about 10000 trials, and counts how many times maf is left standing.

Edit: Whoops. I forgot to take into account that Vig can't shoot the first night. Also that he will commit suicide after shooting a vig. So my estimate is likely way off. It's all down to whether he can survive the second night, and following hanging. I'll fix this sometime when I can be bothered.
Hey guys! Sorry for not posting yesterday, school is really taking up a lot of my time!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. Also, please vote on this poll I made! The Tales of Salem will soon come to an end (;-;) so I've been thinking of somethings I could do in my next project: The Coven Storyline! (which takes place around 50 years before this story, AKA the original Witch Trials.) I wasn't sure of something, so I'd like to know your opinion on this one. Please vote!
Getting Sheriff is 1/33-U (assuming this is not Coven) U is the current amount of Unique roles. so 1/33 up to 1/26 So the chances of 1 sheriff being in an all any game is 15/33 to 15/26, and the chances of them being said sheriff is 1/15 if there is a sheriff
Because you have to account for double/triple/etc roles since Sheriff isn't unique, you have to do 15/33 * 1/15+225/1089 * 2/15+3375/35937 * 1/5 etc... then 15/32 * 1/15+225/1024 * 2/15 etc.... and find out the individual values from the non-unique roles being 33 to it being 26, and the possible amount of Sheriff roles (which is at most 14, the game will never automatically win for all, at least i don't think) and create 8 different expressions to show the possible chances of getting a sheriff in one game. Then square that. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/u64dtyy8ae i used a graphing calculator site (it allows me to save the stuff i put in it, so that's cool) and it outputs less than 0.8% for your sit--wait no that's only for having sheriff being in the #5 slot twice in a row! The real result is 3.6e-5. That is .00003 in decimal, so 0.003% of that happening! That's quite the enigma, wouldn't you say? (just like a cat-run prison/theater huh?) EDIT: I guess it's the same with any other combination, however. The expression just represents the chances of any one of the roles and numbers in two games.
You don't understand servers or programming at all do you?
Who'd you buy this tool from? A super secret TOS "coin hack" doesn't need a description of "WiTopia personalVPN Setup"
So come on, fess up.
There is an android similar app that has all the info for the roles, as well as the setups for the main role lists (classic, ranked, etc.). It also lets you track which # claimed which role so you can find likely suspects.
I've used it a few times, works pretty well, but I usually find myself going back to the good ol' notepad.
Better version: Seriously depressed vigilante
They both give 404 errors though.
Betternet VPN and Ultrasurf both could work, though they have limitations. Phone data works well, if you have it. If all else fails you can try Google Remote Desktop to play on a home computer - if you have one. Considering the nature of the game if you have a decent connection RD might be managable.
Good stuff, I like it!
Some tips for improvement: Color the alignments and roles with their in game colors; Have the checklist in order of the list in game; Prevent the input of multiple unique roles; It's also worth posting this on the ToS Forums.
And just curious, was this done using javaFX? I once made a prototype a while back, and the gui elements reminded me of it xD.
And if you have an android device, check out the app I made that does something similar: Town of Salem Assistant
From the feedback I've received, people appreciate trackers to be quick and easy to use. So as you guys continue improving the program, be sure to keep a clean and simple ui, and try to avoid prompting any typing(most people still use their wills =P).
Over the years, there have been alot of open source projects to help with ToS, so definitely check those out if you want to improve! Alot of them are on github, and some have been marketed on this subreddit and on the ToS forums.
Thanks for sharing and keep coding =) !
In any case, ask yourself this: what is the intent by not claiming on stand? It can be a number of reasons, but I think the idea behind it is not wanting to die early. That's it. (And yes, you can say not claiming on trial can be done with the intent to not out yourself as a Town Power, but that's why false-claiming isn't throwing. Not claiming will get you hanged) It's not done with the intent to win, but merely the want to stay alive to keep playing the game. And that's not trying to win, that's trying to play. Of course, generally gamethrowing is defined as the 'intent to lose' so that does leave a bit of room for argument. Still, I think if you're not playing to win, then you're playing to lose. Maybe you think otherwise?
Furthermore, 'blanket statements on whether X or Y is gamethrowing' already exist and they should stay that way. Each one has an exception, but the exceptions don't define the rule. For example, shooting a revealed Mayor as a Vigilante is undoubtedly gamethrowing, but if the Mayor is explicitly saying he will only lynch town, or you know Mafia will attack him and you need to confirm yourself in a 2v1, then shooting the Mayor might be the right play. That said, those are the exception- not the rule. Shooting a Mayor as a Vigilante is gamethrowing. Similarly, not claiming on trial is gamethrowing, but there exists exceptions which I linked in the comment above.
Any password that's sufficiently long (say, >15 characters) most likely won't be cracked; it'd take essentially forever for even a large botnet to guess it. You can also head to https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords to check if your password has been compromised in a data breach.
For those concerned about their digital safety and the safety of their account use Have I Been Pwned. It's a free tool that notifies you as soon as you email has been found in a breached dataset.
Please check if your email was breached on https://haveibeenpwned.com/
If so, please change your password both on BMG and on any site that shared your password on BMG.
Your Steam information is safe (unless your username and password are the same as ToS), but your ToS info might be sniffed. Check on https://haveIBeenPwned.com.
More questions about Steam are in this thread (Find the word "Steam" if on PC): https://www.reddit.com/r/TownofSalemgame/comments/abqnf9/blankmediagames_critical_data_breach/

check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ , shows every breach your email has been involved in (use the email you used for town of salem of course) but since like almost the entire database was taken its safe to say that youre probably on that list too
I've only been using Steam to get through to the game, never made a BMG account on the website. I used https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and it said I have been compromised. I've changed both my email and steam password so I'm just wondering if I'm safe for now?
> Edit: Since you like polls, let's not cherry-pick the questions... here's a relevant poll: https://www.strawpoll.me/16279036
LMAO you literally did cherry pick in your own poll. Why would i jail vigilante when i asked transporter to save me from that vigilante? If you missed this in report, i even posted it in appeals:
>5- Ask them to save me from All Any chaos in case evils try to be like "You killed survivor!!! die!!!!" and attack at once. (Beyrone to slime lord: this is the jailor save me) This is important because, it shows i tried to survive and obviously, win.
>Firstly, i will repeat one of my points: For a gamethrower, with clear intents to throw, why did i try to survive by asking transporter to save me? When vig clearly claimed they would kill me too. It would be win-win for a thrower; die as town and cause another town to die to guilt.
Step 1: Be on Scratch in 2013
Step 2: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10133545 (that account was even before I created the username seth1299 for everything so don't mind my username lol it was back from my Call of Duty days)
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit
To quote what I said in my FAQ answer,
>Q: I checked someone as a Sheriff/Investigator/Consigliere, but their role didn’t match up with what their role was. Why?
>A: There was either a Transporter messing with the results, they were actually a Disguiser, they were doused by an Arsonist, hexed by a Hex Master, or they were a role that changes roles, such as any mafia role (besides mafioso or godfather) turning into a Mafioso, a Mafioso turning into a Godfather, a Town role being converted into a Vampire, a Vampire Hunter turning into a Vigilante, an Amnesiac remembering a role, etc.
Thar we go. Click here to open the past broadcast. From 18:13-18:45 he reads the question and answers. He says some more stuff later on but that's the key bit.
You can come into the Twitch stream and ask for yourself if you'd like. The stream started 53 minutes ago and ends in 2 hours.
If not, you can watch the stream when it's uploaded later. The answer should be found between 17-35 minutes in.

In order to find your reports, message TrialBot "tb>r [username]".
Whoooo boy.
A1: Definitely luck. Come on man, this guy has a ~40% chance to guess who is evil.
A2: There are some cases similarly, but have easily debunked as just MultiAccs.
A3: Watch the wording buddy. Do you want to hack or not get hacked? If you want to hack, go download kali and take the next 5 years to get to know how to illegally hack BMG. If you don't want to GET hacked, sorry to tell you this but there's no solution. MultiAccounting is when a player jumps in a game with 2 accounts. Most times, 1 of the accounts ends up in Mafia. Since know he knows the mafia, he 'somehow' tells everyone their roles. What can you do against this? Reporting is a good solution, but BMG is having some problems with scammers/cheaters/etc right at the moment.
I'd be glad to clear more questions you have!
Please post the direct link to the picture on imgur instead of the gallery next time.
Also, instead of taking a picture with your phone, either use puu.sh/similar screencapture programs or hit printscreen to take a screenshot of your entire screen that copies to your clipboard.
You seem convinced that I'd miss a community which openly supports blatantly obvious metagaming tactics. (Hint: I don't)
Also: a bot is a piece of software which replaces the player (most of the time by means of intercepting communication paths, rarely by modifying the game client).
My software is incapable of modifying the game. My software is incapable of intercepting communication pathways. My software is incapable of hooking into the game.
It's effectively impossible to break the current terms of service (May 28, 2020) with my tool.
If I'd be banned BMG kinda has to ban all users of this little app as well: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hari.tosHelper
Because technically, they do exactly the same with only two differences: My version runs on Windows and (in the future) has a fake will ready to be copied.
As a matter of fact, since the Android app is still there I suspect legal action wasn't possible, very interesting, much surprise, wow!
Well technically it was legit, but it became unsupported months later and never received anymore bug fixes or updates as opposed to the new one.
iPhone App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/town-of-salem-the-coven/id1421518254?mt=8
Android; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blankmediagames.townofsalemthecoven&hl=en_US
Easy method: Click this link then hit "update" on your mobile device
Launch Google Play, then swipe from the left to access the menu. From there, select "my apps and games". Under "updates pending" select Town of Salem. Hit "update".
If you are doing this all on a personal computer and not the school's, couldn't you theoretically use something like TOR to hide your identity on your end? For all practical uses, impossible to find your identity if you're smart about it.
Combine TOR with the SSH method and it might work?
Alternatively you could find a VPN that lets you through; I personally used VyprVPN until they removed the free month-to-month data version.
