Lol this is awesome. I use a regular giant coleman cabin tent and blow up air mattresses to sleep on. Plenty of room for both of us and all of our stuff. Don't even have a topper, just a hard tonneau.
If you take off the bed rails you can fit d-rings behind those bolts too. I wouldnt crank em down with ratchet straps for a heavy load, but they're great for bungee ties
Damn this is a good idea, im gonna have to do this too
OP I just managed to find these on Amazon which look like they should work. The description mentions Tacomas, though they're talking about the bed floor mounts. But, if theyre that size they should easily fit behind the rail
I agree. My buddy’s Tacoma has a lightbar and I think roof bars are a little overdone. The rack is from Hooke Road. The lights are from Amazon, here is the link. They’re some cheap ones from amazon. Ratings are pretty good though. The only thing I noticed is the fan is pretty loud if you have the lights on and the taco off. Also, the passenger side light was a bitch to get the clasps aligned.

This one sounds a lot like what you’re talking about, I stuck this to my dash and haven’t had any problems through warm or cold weather, holds my iPhone with a thick otter box case on it and is easy to use. Doesn’t require any sort of magnet.

Simple, super flexible, cheap and effective, and no silly drilling or over-complicated assembly. Mount them anywhere, but I put mine on the top of the bezel, the flat top just to the right of the AC vent by radio. I have another on the left side for my 2 way.

I’m all about efficiency over branding, you don’t HAVE to spend that much. The link below is the $100 toro 4 channel amp I’m using from Amazon. I was given a toro 300 watt mono amp for my birthday last year because I was adding a sub. It’s SO small you can put it anywhere and they put out such good power I bought the 4 channel right away and sat on it until I decided to do all my speakers a month ago. You want to talk about spending money though, don’t let me tell you how good my fucking sub sounds! I mean, it should, it’s eye-wateringly expensive... but it sounds waaaay better than you’d expect a single 10 to sound. Especially in a little access cab like mine, and for how small the box is... it’s unreal. Check the second link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VC9KDXB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_PQ1CCJ28XSZ1WPJ33329

Not really an upgrade, but something extremely useful that has not only paid for itself but has taught me how to work on vehicles is a good repair manual. Haynes or Chilton are the main 2 I think. Your local auto parts store probably has it in stock. Amazon has it as well. Amazon Link These things are amazing and will step by step show you how to repair almost anything.
Here's the Consumer Reports list I'm talking about. I have come across more articles that debunk this, though.
I have it and can second that it the best mount ever.

Had mine a few months. No issues.
My old Toyota pickup (long before the Tacoma/Tundra years - 1991 year model) just shit the bed in late 2012 with 236k miles on it and just about the only thing I ever had to do to it was regular maintenance.
I say shit the bed, but it was still in running condition and all it needed was a clutch and a new brake line. It wasn't reliable for day-to-day use anymore, not at the level I needed it at the time. I donated it to NHPR and it sold at auction for, I think, $1700.
Fucking thing is probably over in Syria now with a howitzer mounted in the back.
Edit: OK /u/PrintError, not a Howitzer then, some sort of machine gun
I cheaped out with an Amazon order of (effectively) this light bar. I wanted it slimmer than most in order for my canoe to fit without scraping over it. I also went with the 44” instead of 38” due to the shorter one being out of stock at the time. Had to modify the prinsu fairing on my truck. It’s worked without any issue since installing it two years ago.
Got mine on Amazon. No issues and comes with the leveling washer so no error messages. I have this one.
I have had it for 2 months and my dogs go almost everywhere with me and have had no issues. I have a car seat in back as well for my kiddo so I dont strap it up usually but I have done it on just the passenger side when we are going camping and it works great.

Tonno Pro makes a hard tri-fold cover that locks at 1/3. It's vinyl over aluminum, so it looks like a soft tri-fold, but you get the support and security of the aluminum underneath. It's been a great cover so far. It was less than $500 when I bought mine.

You can find other sets for cheaper but I saw this one in a video and it worked well. I put it on top of the headlight assembly. I didn’t want to open the headlight assembly. Cracking the seal can let moisture in. If you pop your hood, you’ll see a ridge on the top of the headlight. I stuck it right behind that. The ridge protects it from rain (it’s waterproof anyhow) and it also defuses the light so you can’t see the individual LEDs. The ridge goes all the way to the corner of the headlight. I took my front end apart to install but you could probably do it without removing it entirely. It may be difficult to get it to stickat the very end. You could also cut it to be shorter if needed.
I have the sr5 model so I spliced the LED right onto the turn signal.

I have been using this one from URPOWER for about a year now, using it roughly twice a week, and it’s held up nicely. You’re able to throw it in the washer as well which is a nice touch. Looks like they changed the design recently, mine doesn’t have the paw print pattern viewing window, if that’s a bother then I’m sure any of the other ones on Amazon will work nicely as well.
Picked them up on Amazon . Pretty pricey but I wanted some that didn’t require the straps to the hood & bed, and these were very high quality and held well, even felt secure going down the interstate

Yup, same. I have single air mattress that I throw in mine, put tailgate down and slap the tent up- Good in rain and wind. I camped on the coast which is both. Only complaint is I don't have more time off for fishing trips.

Artificial gutter mounts bolted through the sides. That's going to be the easiest legit method.

I got a 2021 OR. Went with the short bed. About to purchase a hitch mounted load extender, so that I can carry long 2x4 from that to my roof rails. That was really my only concern with switching from a Chevy 1500 to this.
I went with this. I wanted one that would cover the door to keep her from scratching that while sticking her head out the window lol. It even allows you to zip the front in half in case you have a passenger sit in the back with them. Also got the dog seat belt with harness so that she stays a little more still. Lol.
I would suggest throwing away the switch that comes with it. they make switches that perfectly fit in the dead switch holes.

That remaining bolt tightens into that little extension piece. See if you can remove that one, pull out that extension piece, and you should be able to see the other end of those broken bolts. I'd pull mine off and take a picture for you, but the bolt for that extension piece is one of the bolts holding my aftermarket bumper on, and I really don't want to mess with that right now. Those two bolts you broke off are two I never reinstalled, so they're open holes that look like they're just nuts welded into the frame member.

These were for a 2018 trd, but the sale seemed to be from the seller and perhaps they have some that fit
It’s custom. For the most part at least. I got the grill insert off of Bulletproof Fabricating . Then the leds off of Amazon . Emblem off of original grill. It’s a pretty easy Mod.
Here's a link to amazon where I ordered them:

I'm not entirely sure about your question, to be honest. I am new to bikes. Based on some of the "questions answered" on Amazon, it sounds like it might not work for a thru axel bike, but they may sell an adapter or different mount for that.
The mod is the AC control knobs. $15 on Amazon.

I ordered the grill from Mad Hornets and the lights are from Amazon for the 2016-2018 Tacoma TRD grill. The lights were a little tight but they popped in like they should.

It looks like a standard dual-row lightbar between 20 and 30 inches.
My brother had two of these 9-inch bars on his Jeep hood (flood beam, not spot).
They were very bright. If you don't like the 6000K color temperature, consider a layer of vinyl film like this. Check the Amazon photos to see the process one person went through with multiple layers. Personally, I'd go with a single layer. Applying it to that bar should be simple since it is both small and flat.
Lamin-x film off of amazon. Pretty simple to install, although I need to reorder and re do mine as I messed them up a bit installing them .
