I installed a Rexing V-1 years ago (2018). The rear camera is mounted on my camper shell glass. If I didn't have a shell, I'd look at altering my plastic tailgate panel. Those panels are available readily on Amazon and Rock Auto (mine broke from extreme temperature changes, AZ to Montana, and a replacement was $20).

The new Rexing offers mobile support which would be nice to check video, and a super capacitor which is something to look for as they handle temperature extremes better than rechargeable batteries. Here's the newer version of mine... https://www.amazon.com/Channel-Dashboard-Recorder-G-Sensor-Recording/dp/B01EX8ATKK/ref=dp_prsubs_2?pd_rd_i=B01EX8ATKK&psc=1
I also hard wired it in under the dash with a keyed ignition fuse-able link. You may want to look at right angle USB connectors to help orient the cables neatly for the main camera, regardless of which model/manufacturer you decide on.

The rear camera from Rexing occasionally slid off it track and needed some glue to help keep it in place. The video from it also cuts out occasionally which is very likely due to my installation on a camper shell glass which see's a fair amount of vibration from opening and closing the glass. There's also the possibility my cable routing pinched the cable and caused the problem. I tucked it along the headliner pillar by door frame then went down to the floor boards between front and back seats. This routing used the roll up window as the access between cab and truck bed... causing a kink in the cord as the window is rolled up, not ideal and not something I would recommend.
A better design for most cameras would use a more robust locking connection in place of the USB type connections found on many cameras.
I've a CrewMax and found that purchasing a bed extender solved my problems with it being a shorter bed. As long as you're not putting stupid heavy stuff on the tailgate, this should be more than sufficient for you and your family. It's done well for me and mine when we've gone on our trips.

Remove the chrome and lay on the plastic drop sheet. The spray on liner comes with instructions that are very simple. You’ll also need an air compressor, but you can either rent one or see if a friend has one you can borrow. I’ve never done it before and had no issue. It’s super straightforward. If you have the autodimming mirror, there's a connector behind it for power. It's got a little plastic cover over it.
They sell a little connector on Amazon that allows you to also plug a a dash cam in. It's not always on power, though.
Edit: I know it says Tacoma, but it works in my 15 SR5.
Over the course of researching prior to purchasing a RetraxPro XR retractable bed cover and mounting my Yakima Overhaul bars to it, I read about people having problems with the t-bolts pulling and bending the rails of the t-slots on the cover.
I realized this was caused by too large a gap between the edges of the t-bolt and the edges of the foot, as shown in the second picture.
To fix this problem, I bought a sheet of 1/2” HDPE (link below) and cut strips to fit in the grooves of the feet. I cut them a hair wider than the groove and then sanded them down so they were quite tight in the groove, which caused the strip to be pushed down a bit by the curved shoulders at the top of the groove (see picture). This allowed it to make good pressure all the way down below the foot.
I then measured and drilled holes to match the t-bolt locations with the strip in a vise, and then rocked my hand drill back and forth in line with the strip to taper the holes on one side for the shoulders of the t-bolt to fit properly. You can see this on the strip to the left in the first picture.
I then used a dead blow mallet to seat the spacers in the foot as seen in the third picture, assembled everything, and was good to go. I’ve had no problems torquing my racks with no damage.
Hopefully this helps somebody else with this problem someday.

You’ll need a bezel kit and a stereo wiring harness to install any aftermarket head unit and make it fit and work properly. There are many head units that offer wireless Apple CarPlay so you won’t need an adapter at all. The bezel kit I linked fits both standards of head unit sizes (double and single din) so just make sure you get a head unit that follows one of those standards and your needs.

I did LED's on my 2000. You need to get a resistor kit or else they will not function properly. They will work, but the dash will show that your brights are on and you won't be able to toggle them from low/bright.
I used this kit and Lasfit LED lights on mine for both the headlights and fog lights. You will also need a resistor kit for the fog lights, but the kit that I bought for mine is no longer on Amazon. I did have some issues with the first type of LED light I used. I found Lasfit to be pretty good and actually had one die on me and they sent me a replacement set with no hassle.
My only advice is be careful with the headlight assembly that you get, make sure that it can be adjusted/aimed because the LED's are super bright.

Definitely resurface them. I used the 3M Restoration Kit with a Meguiar’s Headlight Coating. Use more water than you think you need. Take your time. Do it outside! It took me about a day to do it right and they look brand new now. I plan on doing the fog lights eventually.
I did mine about three years ago. Still looks brand new but here is what I put over them to keep them that way.
It is protection film that keeps them from corroding. Much cheaper than new headlights. YouTube a video in how to do it. It’s very easy. You can’t tell it’s on there.

Bought a PowerStop rotor + pads upgrade kit (5/2021) on Amazon for $370 and did all 4. Took about 2hrs so if you're a DIY'er, your labor rate could be anything. My going rate was a pastrami sandwich and 2 beers lol
If you got the time, source the parts yourself... Might get some OEM rotors and/or pads for cheaper.
But if you don't have the tools or a way to chock the wheels + raise the truck safely, that price looks decent.
>-It has 80k miles.
That's not much. If you don't have clear records, you'd want to do the transmission fluid/filter/gasket, and rear differential fluid, and if it's 4x4, the front differential and transfer case.
>- Rusty undercarriage due to living in NY salted winter roads.
You can seriously break the bank treating things, but given the age I'd not stress about the frame being a potential issue, most likely not. I'd recommend POR-15 applied as the directions to any particularly concerning spots, some surface rust will occur but it's a good way to stop rust from progressing.
>- breaks wobble a bit while breaking. - uneven wear on tires (outside edge).
These could be related but I doubt it. Braking: I'd check the rotors for wear, and pads too, if the rotors are original they may need swapping by this mileage. Around 80k my 2016 needed a replacement rear caliper due to sticking, something to look at as well. Tires: I'd see about alignment first, and then inspect ball joints, control arms bushings and go from there.
Depending on the size of the hole and location, you could just throw a stainless steel clamp over it as a budget solution. Wide band clamps like this example here are like $15 and might seal up an exhaust hole, but it's no true replacement for an actual repair, a muffler shop could probably weld a real patch or replacement up for you right quick.

You are not alone. From 2000 to early 2002, Toyota sent the Tundras with the same brake system used on the 4Runner, and it was, in few words, not enough. In 2003, Toyota upgraded the to bigger calipers.
Get down in your truck and look for a casting number in the calipers. If you have the smaller 199mm calipers (casting number 13WE) you could benefit from an upgrade to the larger 231mm calipers (casting 13WL).
I purchased this set and couldn't be happier, but you don't need to replace rotors. Installation was almost a bolt on procedure.

Unless I'm confusing myself it's the Android equivalent to CarPlay. Basically mirroring of your phone with vehicle appropriate apps. For me I find Google Maps far superior to the Toyota Navigation. I also like the YouTube music integration and Google Assistant integration.
It will work via USB for now, but wireless functionality would be so much easier.
Dude if you don't want to spend over $90 for a new dash display I got bad news for you...
Unless $90 is your lower limit. Then is recommended retrofitting it with an apple/android play dash. I'd start here
it requires photoshop or another powerful editing software... pixlr is a free one that i use...
its hard to explain via txt, but... you add a layer. which copies the photo one on top of another... on that new layer, you change the adjustments. contrast, color balance, etc etc. then you create a layer mask, and mask out that layer in places you dont want the change to be. in theory taking the modified photo that is on top of the other identical photo. and trimming it.... or masking the modified photo.
I went with the extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover. The main reason is that I wanted a cover that attached to the bed rail system instead of clamps so that I could continue to use those tie downs without too much trouble. I have one of these on all 3 of my vehicles. It emits a sound that goes up & down in frequency & mice/rats don't like it as opposed to the ones that use a constant frequency that they can get used to. Mine are this style but they will likely be different depending on what brand cover you get.
Yup got one from Amazon that works with them. I'll attach a link. I bought it for under 200. Make sure it's from Amazon basics. It's 172 right now. Hardly any water gets in the bed. The thing is awesome!!

Exactly the reason I have one of these (although not this specific one) https://smile.amazon.com/Giomoc-Waterproof-Protector-Scratchproof-Protection/dp/B09CMGG6R1/ref=sr\_1\_10?crid=ZFGX115PYY5K&dchild=1&keywords=back+seat+cover+for+dogs&qid=1634584407&sr=8-10
God damn that's awful.
Is there a reason you didn't buy one of the kits which includes the timing belt, water pump & gasket, hydraulic tensioner, and idler pulley?
When the truck is only 10 years old you can get away with only replacing the bare minimum. When it's 20+ years old like mine it becomes time to replace a bit more stuff. Soon I'll be changing out the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, radiator, camshaft pulley seals, and the crankshaft pulley seal on mine.
Bought the mattress about 4 years ago at Walmart. Still no leaks. Couldn't find it on Walmart website, but found it on Amazon: Intex Comfort Plush Mid Rise Dura-Beam Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump, Bed Height 13", Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GII9YB4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_49DEB4FJ002KNQRE889Y
Yes 6-8 ish cans and 2-3hr would do a good job. I spray using both an airless paint sprayer and using the gun below out of an air compressor. They sell FF in gallon, 5 gallon pails as well if you wanted to go this route. Tundra takes about 1-1.5 gallons to do a good job.

The truck in OPs post would actually be a great candidate for Fluid Film BLACK which would have the same protective properties and cover up the existing surface rust.
Spray it with a rust reformer. The bed of my 2000 Tundra was getting large pockets/holes of rust. I used this stuff and it works great. It binds to and stops the rust, can be painted once dried.

Part of the frame to the compartment comes out to fit it in.
This is the box I have. Not sure if it works for the double cabs though. I originally bought it through Crutchfield.
Here's my setup
I have seen people build a box for the fold down arm rest in the back and throw a 10in sub in there, but then you lose a seat, if that matters.
I used some sign standoffs to keep it in position from below. On the surface its Paint <> Silicone tape <> magnet (attached to light bar with clear weather tape) <> lightbar. The harness was discussed here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/tailgate-led-lightbar.77966/#post-1977104 the standoff were this size but you only need two to thread through the holes under the tail gate: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JGJBHPX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one? https://www.amazon.com/Hooke-Road-Tundra-Bumper-Compatible/dp/B08CBYH736
Its made in China for those that care.
I went with this guy after the car wash ripped my OEM antenna off. I go through 3-4 times a week with it and have no issues. Reception is decent, I live in Florida so there’s not much terrain to compete with. I also use CarPlay nearly 100% of the time.
These are awesome and I’ve seen them a few times in the wild. They’re next on my list

i had these on my 18 and just ordered them for my 20. Tried others… IMO these are the best for the tundra. They are very low profile, but stick out far enough to be useful as a step. Also, i turned into a massive rock (big enough to lift that side of the truck and bring me to a stop from about 15 mph), and no damage to the truck. They had a dent and scrape on the bottom side. A couple quick coats of bedliner spray paint and they were good to go.

They use the same fuse as your tundra. The one that comes in the kit is a regular fuse.
I have one of these, the entire bottom is still open then also.

I can fit my laptop in the bottom sitting on end plus various other items. Note that this tray does cause rub marks, but cannot be seen when the console is closed.
