Trinus PSVR is the app (Trinus VR is for smartphones). You should try it before buying... although if your aim is only to watch videos, I strongly recommend going for a smartphone VR video player + Google Cardboard, like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candlify.vrplayer
Wait, if you buy touch controllers separately, does it come with a sensor?! (so it would be this https://www.amazon.ca/Oculus-301-00036-04-Touch-Windows/dp/B01BHMS88A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1504278469&sr=8-3&keywords=oculus+rift+sensor )
I purchased this one GenBasic Quad HD Android Virtual Reality System - 2560x1440 All in One VR Headset with HDMI Input https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTNEOJV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UqCvzb61CSE1G
And I love it. Your best option no matter which device is to obtain root access. Once this is achieved and you tweak the device you can run hdmi at 60 - 70hz. This includes the stereoscopic enhance feature. I've played BF3, BF4 and BF1. Also can be fun when playing Dead Island or Star wars Battlefront.
this is the one I bought since it has a focal point adjustment and PD adjustment. however now I just use my gearvr which fits my glasses in just fine.
I reccomend a cheap plastic set like the evo vr, it has adjustable lenses (both the distance from your eyes and the distance they are apart) and works perfectly for my father who wears glasses as well.
When I search for it in the Play store, it shows 2. One that's free and one that's $9.99. I know i'm in the US, but I don't think it makes a difference. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loxai.trinus.full&hl=en
