~~No actually, it got old pretty fast. Besides, I believe even the 360° content is recorded in 2D. So no depth of field or projection. So the best part gone. Watching 3D movies is still fantastic though. But if you like crude 3D porn games, there are a couple of those for Oculus. More unrealistic, but unrealistic in 3D. So using this app - Trinus, you could play those games on cardboard using your PC.~~
Nope, disregard everything I just said. I just revisited some sites, and they have 3D stereoscopic porn. And it's pretty easy to find.
>Play GTA V, Portal 2, Skyrim, Elite Dangerous, Minecraft, Call of Duty and many more, in Virtual Reality!
I've said this before and I'll say this now: Google Cardboard with Trinus Gyre should be an overall decent experience.
i dont think there is any vr clop yet but there is a really nice game called "the cathouse tales" and its free and it supports VR, its on PC only, you can use a program called "trinus VR" to stream the 3d image to your phone and viola 3d vr furry sex.

trinus gyre is the app you are looking for. You can select from multiple tracking methods(mouse, trackIR,etc) and video sources(limelight included). It's worth the cost. There is also a free version to test with before buying.
You actually can with this app, although the experience is nowhere near what you get with a Vive. Still, I spent maybe an hour with it before I got my Vive, and it's definitely playable.
When I search for it in the Play store, it shows 2. One that's free and one that's $9.99. I know i'm in the US, but I don't think it makes a difference. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loxai.trinus.full&hl=en

This looks interesting, since it does the warp to compensate for the lenses. My computer is a little to slow to properly test.
It's not a cheap option, but save up for a VR headset and a top-tier GPU. Elite is incredible in VR.
If you want a taste, check out Trinus VR which will allow you to use a cell phone and Google Cardboard (or similar). Trinus is not a good solution -- it will probably make you sick fairly quickly -- but it is worth doing at least once. :)
Oh, sounds different. when I did it I used a app I paid like 5 dollars for on the play store. I forgot the name though.
EDIT: I think they deleted the one I bought.
EDIT 2: I found it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loxai.trinus.full
No way to run Oculus apps but if you want to run a few PC games then try this:

Still won't be as good as a true Rift experience but if you just want to get an idea, this might be what you are looking for []-)
So you want to go PC through the internet to your phone? Don't know about that, but you could use a long usb cable and Trinus Gyre. It's being developed for VR purposes but would work fine with standard content.

You also need SteamVR, which can be done by opening Steam, going to your library, games, tools, and installing SteamVR.
As for the Starlight model I used, I believe it's this one. I disabled history on Firefox, so I'm not 100% sure...
Edit: Yeah, it's that one.
definitely, there are a couple of different ways to do it. I'll explain my setup and then let you know what you can cut out if you don't want to spend the money.
you need to download the following on your pc: Trinus Gyre
you need to download the following on you phone: Trinus Gyre App
First, make sure your phone and pc are on the same wifi network. Turn on Trinus Gyre on your PC and make sure it connects via wifi. In the settings, make sure the video mode is set to moonlight(it might still be called limelight in trinus)
Click the power button on trinus on your pc.
open the trinus app on your phone and press the power button. This should automatically open up moonlight. your pc should show up automatically. If not, read the moonlight FAQ on how to allow port forwarding on your router and what ports to forward in order to get it working.
From there just navigate to tridef(you need to add it to gamestream in the Nvidia Geforce Experience program).
When that opens, select stranded deep and it will load sbs on your monitor and your phone. you'll need to adjust the mouse sensitivity in trinus on your pc so the head movement isn't too fast.
An easier way to do it is just utilizing trinus gyre. set the video mode to fast instead of moonlight(especially if you don't have NVidia) and set fake3d to on. Do that and then just navigate to stranded deep and it should load up in sbs 3d. There is no 3d effect this way though as it just duplicates the image. so you won't see any depth this way, but it saves you from spending $40 on tridef.
I'd recommend trying the 14 day trial of tridef. That's what I did and I ended up buying it because its pretty sweet.
Its not as complicated as I probably made it sound. I'd be happy to help you out if you run in to any issues getting it set up.
Okay so check this out. It's called Moonlight
https://github.com/moonlight-stream
It allows you to stream games just like Steam. It uses nvidia geforce experience to host.
There is an andoid app. However to project two screens for the VR experience over the web requires a computer client.
Trinus VR has something like it. But I would probably just avoid it.
The main problem I think you are going to have is latency.
Essentially a poor man's Oculus Rift.
oculus rift is more than likely coming out by the end of this year... that will cost a couple hundred dollars but will be an amazing vr experience. However for now, the google cardboard gets the job done!
A controller isn't necessary, however it does make playing this particular game easier. Other games like star citizen work great because you are just sitting in a cockpit so you are always looking forward. The problem is that in the game you are walking and turning around a lot. your head movements will be the mouse, so you basically turn around to look behind you. if you have a wireless keyboard you'd be fine. you can also just use your mouse to adjust your viewpoint, but that will definitely give you motion sickness after a while
Tridef is a program on your pc which creates a side by side image of a game. this is how you will get transported into the game with the 3d image. the way vr works is that you will see 2 images on your phone's screen. you won't automatically get 3d though. the images actually have to be slightly different (based on your inter pupillary distance, but that's not all that important for now!) in order for your brain to "see" in 3d. tridef creates the different images to give you the 3d effect. cardboard apps already do this, but tridef does this for games on your pc (like TLD) that do not have official SBS 3d support.
the most important app you need though is trinus gyre. I think the app is like $5 on the google play store, but it is definitely worth it. you also need to download trinus gyre on your computer. this app streams your computer screen to your phone. It also enables you to use your phone's gyros to move the mouse around.(you can also use other programs like opentrack, but I've found that the mouse mode works fine on TLD)
That should get you started. if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help out more! Also you may want to get some stuff to make the cardboard more comfortable. I made head straps for mine as well.
Google Cardboard, with Trinus VR? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loxai.trinus.full&hl=en
Have you had a look at Trinus Gyre? It sounds similar to what you want to achieve.
