Consumer Reports thinks differently.
Even if it is a bit more costly, I'm sure the average price point will come down rather quickly as more and more shops learn aluminum repair and more manufacturers embrace aluminum.
The hot, new shit is almost always expensive while it's still hot and new.
I’m pretty sure it’s a Power Wheels, Disney Frozen version. But it’s kinda hard to tell from this far away. Super cool...my girls dig it.
https://www.amazon.com/Power-Wheels-Disney-Frozen-Wrangler/dp/B00M1L326A
I personally think it is shit. I mean who the FUCK would choose that? Why? Are you insane? Are you stupid? I mean that air freshener is an awful choice. Go get you one of these already and then you will be smelling right. Oh and i like the truck.
Why do people keep saying this like they have a complete understanding of what they're talking about? It's marginally more expensive to repair, and costs are only going to get lower as more aluminium bodied trucks come out. You do realize there's been aluminium cars out for a long time right? So it's not like it's some mystical alloy that no one knows how to work with.
>The jury is still out on what ownership costs will be in the long run, but thus far, repair costs seem to be in line with the previous-generation model.
They are just a lugnut that you have to have a key for to take off.

You need to make sure they are the right size.
If you have super expensive wheels/tires you could put two different designs on each wheel. Cameras are pretty cheap and worth it too not just for your truck but the house too.
U-POL Raptor Black Urethane Spray-On Truck Bed Liner Kit w/FREE Custom Coat Spray Gun with Regulator, 4 Liters https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074KQLKMH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ERuFCb3113QJW
This would be it.
A 1955 Mercury M-Series would've looked like this. Based on the grille, this is more likely a 1966.
This looks like a near top-of-the-line long bed model with the Custom Cab option, passenger side mirror, chrome trim and wheel caps, in-bed toolbox, and of course a V8 (352 FE). The only thing that's not high-end is the white bumper (the modern equivalent of which would be black plastic on an XL).
They are just 6" pods off amazon. These are them but there may be some better ones out now. I wired them to an adapter to plug directly in to my stock fog wiring so I can remove them and replace them back with my stock ones if I ever need to. And the fog light button works like normal.
I used this kit on Amazon. Installed it today on my 03 silverado work truck. I ran the wires in wireloom, and hid everything. Power was ran to where my rear led pods are.
There were two kinds of letters listed on Amazon. One got 3.5 stars and the other 5 stars. I went with the 5-star reviewed ones.

I did find this sweet ad from a 1986 popular science magazine tho
Get a Block tester just to be certain.
All you do is remove a little coolant from the radiator so it won't get sucked into tester. Start the truck and get up to temp with cap off so that the thermostate opens.
Next you put the fluid into the tester and pump air through it from the radiator cap hole. If there is a bad head gasket, damage block or heads the fluid will change colors.
When my head gasket was blown on my jeep I could smell the exhuast from the radiator. But it never ran hot on me or even miss fired unless it set up not driven for over a week. No milky oil either. My coolant kinda looked murky but no oil or milky look.
There are youtube videos of this test too.
Good luck.
Here you go you can use the Amazon link or use the second link to go to the Reese site and use where to buy to look for a local store.

Nice.
I think I'm going to with one of these. Powerbuilt 620471 Unijack
Easy to use. Small foot print.
Some of the reviews report an issues lower the jack. Looks easy enough in the video but I'll be sure to report back.
Thanks, Traded the truck in recently though. Got them off Amazon for pretty cheap.
I've seen them all over the place, but amazon has a decent supply of them.
Yeah got them on amazon. Here’s the link.
I used that stuff. Works great. I've had it on for 6 months and open and close my tailgate at least a few times a day. I haven't burnt through it yet, but the roll is long, so I figure its cheap enough to replace. I leave some gaps so water can still flow out.
Lots of good suggestions already, I use these to keep the inside of my truck cool. /s
Edit: updated link
The only way you'll get it to auto on/off is if you hardwire it in. Which is super easy.

Is what I used. It's good little camera for the price. The quality is pretty good for watching on your phone..but I found it you try to take the video on to the computer it gets worse.
Just made me chuckle when I saw the little gray box while looking your truck over. Very nice man.
These but in 265/60R/20 were what come on the truck are supposedly 42 lbs each. These are what I have now and they are supposedly 41.1 lbs so weight should of gone down.
Get this AES Industries 4" Smart Eraser Pad with Drill Adaptor Arbor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00488DDB8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_VE9svb1P0Z8DV. It works fast and is worth it. It's just like a huge eraser, keep it moving or it will get hot and burn your paint. It does get messy with all the eraser remains so be ready for clean up. I used it on a few badges and trim on my truck would buy again because it works so well.
Cheap stuff:
My 14 Sierra kept hitting garage roof with radio antenna. $14 replaced it.
Mud Flaps (if you don't already have them)
Bluetooth adapter like this http://www.amazon.com/BlueDriver-Bluetooth-Professional-iPhone%C2%AE-Android/dp/B00652G4TS
One on the oilpan, one on the trans. If you're not already preheating your oil I bet it'll cut your crank time in half.
Hooking to the ball is a poor choice, for reasons others have outlined. Use the hitch pin to secure the strap, or, you can buy a hitch receiver with a D-Ring on it to attach to the strap. Something like this, which also gives you something you could grab with the hook on a winch too.
Possibly something like this Tiedown
Do you mean a winter tire? I dont know what a snow tire is, a normal winter tire is not good in deep snow because has relatively small grooves.
AT tires are not even close to the performance of proper winter tires in normal winter road conditions.
Proper winter tire looks like this, notice the amount of sipes https://www.amazon.com/Nokian-Hakkapeliitta-Snow-Winter-Tire/dp/B07BFHL94T
Some AT/MT tires have the 3PMSF mountain snowflake symbol but it just means they meet some minimum requirements to legally qualify as winter tires.

No. Behind the button is actually a chip, not wires.
Here’s what I did for my 03 and 05 suburbans. I bought these that plug into an existing fuse and basically piggy back off it. I chose to use my high beam fuse. I used power from that fuse as the power for my relay for my LP9s. I also have a button in the truck. So now when I turn on my regular high beams my off road lights also come on. If I want just factory high beams I turn the off road lights off with the button.
I do, actually it's 7 gallons! Amazon link below. Here's a pic of how I have it setup. My dog and I do a lot of trail running and this works great. Easy to pull out, fill the bowl or my pack, and slide back in.

I bought a carpet dash mat for my Ram 1500 and it’s protected my dashboard from baking in the sun all day, also helps regulate cab temperature and reduces glare. Less than $50 and makes the cab 100% better
Sharp truck. The width of the F-150 versus the ranger is nice too.
I put a stubby on my F-150 too (then moved it to my F-250 since we want to tow a travel trailer).
this one is nice and didn't seem to affect my reception at all. I listen to the rock and roll station here and NPR.

Bathroom scale? BATHROOM SCALE‽
Or OP could try a Sherline madeintheUSA tongue weight scale...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007REK28M/
This thing uses some fancypants hydraulic displacement trickery to measure the exact force pressing down on that coupler.
Really though, the 10%-15% tongue weight guideline is because you need some weight forward of the front axle(s) of a trailer in order to keep the coupler downwards rather than skywards, but, if your tow vehicle can handle it, you could handle drastically more tongue weight, as long as the welds of the hitch can support that downward force, and as long as the rear axle of the tow vehicle can resist it.
You see, a tow vehicle with a trailer attached to a rear-mounted hitch becomes a teeter-totter fulcrum across the rear axle. Add more downward force in the form of trailer tongue weight to that hitch ball, and the towing front axle lifts away from the ground in compensation.
If your front end, engine, axle, etc are heavy enough to counteract that force from the trailer's tongue weight, then you'll never notice any tracking or sway problems while towing. A ~3500 truck pulling a dinkly trailer with two plastic kayaks on it doesn't care about tongue weight; it just rolls on.
Here's what OP needs to consider. Does two bikes, fully forward and secured in that trailer, exceed the max capacity of the hitch's rated downward force? And, if not, does that tongue weight raise the tow vehicle's front fender wheelwells distance-to-ground more than it should (1 to 2 to 3 inches)? with a trailer attached, every half-inch that your vehicle's front wheel wells are raised off the ground is that much less steering and sway-control that you've lost. Keep your front wheel wells within 45-50% or less of their original pre-trailer-attached height-from-ground.
I have a '14 Silverado. I did extensive research on CAIs. Unless you really like how they look, don't buy one. Get this instead. The GM air box is fine. Replacing/cleaning the cone filter is dumb. Get the part that actually is helpful. All the benefits for $100 cheaper than most CAI. Get a tune from Diablew while you're at it.
I don't know if GM has changed the center console or if it's still just gapping hole to the abyss but if it's the same as my 2018 this console tray is a great option to keep things organized in there.

Additional information in case it’s needed. This is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with 4.7 liter. The owner said he replace the rear shocks not long ago but the front ones need to be replaced soon because the bushing broke on the driver side. I ordered some shock online and then realized I had no idea if the truck having a lift would require special shocks to accommodate it.

Personally I'd go with something that looks age appropriate, then put an LED bulb in it. Best of both worlds, much brighter lighting and it still looks stock.
Tonneau cover. I've got the hard folding from this brand and it's great.
Easy on the budget, easy to install and remove and if you need to haul something you can either remove it quickly or fold it up to the cab.
no need. i got this one and this memory card for 70$ CDN on sale about 2 years ago and has worked flawlessly.

You're not going to find a lot of impartial answers anywhere. Most truck folks have a brand bias.
It's worth it to look at multiple points of view and hopefully unbiased media. I found a Consumer Reports article from 2015 that says, in the first paragraph, that Chevy\GM and Ram are better than the F-150. I am sure, with minimal effort, you could find media that rates the F150 higher. Take that for what you will.
Remind me in about 8 hours and I'll show you mine. I welded it. They are much cheaper and very easy
Edit: im at work. I took an old brush guard I dragged out of the woods for scrap. Cut it and used about 30 percent. I took a big tube and put it on the bottom, which I'm planning on turning into am air reservoir. I used angled steel for a place to hook onto without hooking back to your rope. I need to hammer the left side a little to get it to line up with my headlights, and I am going to mount some bull rings for pulling stuff. Held on with some 8 strength bolts. I will post a pic when I have wifi. I also will weld a winch box after I find out what I'm getting. I spray painted it which was alright but is flaking pretty hard in the middle. I'm going to plasti dip soon. The cost is what you make it. Mine was less than 60, including rod price.

I have these in my projectors. Much better than the leds I tried. I didn't even have to cut the dust cover. The balaste fit inside the housing.
Winch bumper there are obviously cheaper options, and there is also the used parts market, but these are what you are looking for
Gel engine cleaner/degreaser, or even gel oven cleaner will eat paint pretty rapidly and is much thicker than brake fluid.

I always keep some of this on hand. Works better and faster than goo gone, it’s only as harsh as the material you’re scrubbing with, it cleans plastic trim really well, and it’s safe on cured paint.
Edit: a number of auto parts stores have it and it comes in a spray can too.
Everything everyone else said, there's plenty of better ways to wiresplice than that, you may twist wires together and use wirenuts at home, but your house isn't jiggling down the freeway at 60mph.
Personally I prefer these over butt connectors because they seem to last longer:
Do you need these things? Depends on how you like the cab comfort. It will be loader and hotter without anything so keep that in mind. Bed liner will not take care of heat or sound. Before I insulated it my firewall got really hot to the touch, probably around 200 degrees. My fire wall isn’t insulated from the engine bay and I’m not sure if bed liner would hold up to that heat or for how long. My ac wasn’t able to keep the cab less than 80-90 if I was driving for longer than 30 minutes. If you want to insulate it here’s what I used and it works well for me and total cost was about $250. Probably need 2-3 rolls of the peel and stick and one roll of the thermal liner. A vinyl cab floor should cost about $150 or less, I have a regular cab. Get a roll of the aluminum duct tape to secure the thermal liner.
>If you don’t like the look,
Could always get this. That's what i have lmao
I have this one on my F150:

I love it. One thing though is if you need to use your whole bed and what you’re hauling is taller than the bed rails you’ll block the whole rear view. Doesn’t bother me but it might bother some.
I enjoy the hard folding tonneau because my whole bed is a reasonably dry trunk. Not quite water proof but close. Easy for a single person to install too.
Awesome, thank you!
I might drive with the tape and fender flares installed over summer and then at the start of winter take off the flares and check it out. Maybe re-do the side with the thick 3M tape. If the tapes takes the damage, and not the side of the truck, then I am going to be very happy.
I purchased the following: VViViD 3M Clear Paint Protection Vinyl Film
While I'm fired up about these things. Have any owners of these 5000 pound impending vehicular manslaughter charges had the moment of lucidity to spend and extra $30 on a camera kit like this to mount on the front?
You can still buy them. Just gotta look for the size. 10.00-20

Back in 2010ish time frame my late '99 F250 was involved in a collision that took out my front bumper , headlights, and grill area. I took that opportunity to upgrade my headlight buckets to 2005 headlights (I kept '99 bumper and grill). That was a big improvement but the real improvement came in 2018 when I changed the bulbs to LEDS. I love the visibility now.

You can get support braces that go into the hitch receiver. Here's one of many many choices on Amazon. Works great for kayaks and long lumber.
Nah, that's just an emblem from Amazon. It's like dark, carbon fiber texture. I did plastidip the bowtie in the front though.
I'm partial to the hammock-style ones, but you use them with the seats in the normal position. They make some with side covers to protect the doors like this one
Probably easier to just replace them with black ones.
Check out the Birdrock SnowMoover brush for trucks and SUVs. It’s 39” fully extended and curved. I’m tall so hard to judge, but it’s certainly easier for me now to get the snow off the roof and cap on my Silverado.
Skip the license plate backup camera and get him one of these.
Way cleaner install and they're angled so you can see your hitch, makes hooking up a trailer super easy.
Yes. You can even buy a kit for it. https://www.amazon.com/IPCW-CWV-02ESC-Conversion-Chevrolet-Silverado/dp/B006BUSHUI
I'd probably go with something like this and then drop in an led bulb. It'll look relatively stock, and the bulb will have the same cutoff as halogen. It'll be more clear and you're not the asshole blinding everyone.
Not sure what bulb yours would use, but I dropped this one in my factory 05 f150 housing and it's super bright. Better than the bi-xenon in my A6.
I bought some black vinyl adhesive to black out the GMC logos on mine. I think it looks way better and have gotten several compliments. Here’s a pic https://imgur.com/gallery/o313Iut and here’s the amazon link for the adhesive https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CPN0BB8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Honestly you could probably just get a colored RGB LED strip and just stick it all under the truck. Most of them come with a remote so he can change the color to his liking and it’s really cheap too. You would probably just need to make sure it stays firm and maybe get some gorilla glue or tape or something(make sure it’s out of sight obviously) to keep it in place.
Not sure how good this would work out cause I never saw it or did it on my truck but maybe it’s worth looking into

Personally, what I think you are looking for are rock lights. I have a 4 rock light kit from amazon and they work amazing. Installed in less than an hour and they are super bright for only being one in each wheel well.
Best of all, they were only $50! Here’s the link to the ones I bought although I wouldn’t really recommend because the “white” color is more of a pinkish white. If he’s ok with that, then these are definitely a good option. I think I may need to just change the white on the color wheel but idk.
If he needs an install help, let me know
Looks clean, those headlights will restore easily and look brand new.
When I bought my f150 a few months back I pulled headlights out, restored them, then put in some LED bulbs (these should fit yours). They'll have the same beam pattern but be much brighter and more modern looking.

I have used this specific product in the past without issue, the truck it is on gets absolutely beat on, has a rack on top of the shell with kayaks and bikes on it all the time off road. It's been going strong for about 3 years now. Although any of the similar EPDM rubber seals for toppers will probably do fine. Just be sure to properly prep the surface with goo gone and a heavy degreaser, and if you have some to spare, rubbing alcohol.
Yeah as far as I know certain trim levels will only include one socket.
You can get something like this for your truck though.
Read the whole comment again. Key words are "not the same." Again, you need to reference the compressor wheel flow ratings, peak flow capacity, and turbine wheel size vs housing size. The flow chart will show you where in the power band will be vs max boost.
Figure out your goals vs what hp your engine can handle, and get a forced induction unit sized to your goals.
There's an excellent book for those who are just starting out: https://www.amazon.com/Maximum-Boost-Turbocharger-Engineering-Performance/dp/0837601606
A bit of advice from this Duramax owner. Always run Opti-Lube XPD. I also spoil mine on the oil.
You're probably referring to "spring" style clamps.
You need to find a large autoparts store like a Napa (they can have more hardware) or a good old fashioned hardware store.
Or you know, amazon
The brand is Tyger Auto. Don't know much about the brand but they were highly rated on Amazon and a great price.
I've had them on since the week after I purchase the truck back in January 2019 and couldn't be happier with them. Looks like they went up in price a bit, I paid $289 Prime shipped they're now $329 still a damn good price for what they are.

Sure, the only thing you need to do is go on amazon and put in the make and model year, and it should show you mirror options. I just did a quick search and came up with this.
It's a non-heated version with a smoked turn signal lens, but I figure it doesn't matter because your friend only needs the back plastic piece anyway. At least, that's assuming that's all he broke, if the mirror shattered too then he might also want to get a heated mirror.
This guy has a video detailing how you disassemble the mirror.
I'm gonna need to do the same thing with mine because I busted up my passenger side mirror housing recently trying to back into the garage during an arctic wind which made the plastic really brittle.
