They'll slip under the cuff of the groomsmen's Combatant Gentleman tuxes.
But why do that, when you can buy $100,000 watch for $66.29?
I’m imagining being at a restaurant and watching some douche take his watch off, set it next to some oysters and start taking multiple pics of it making this face.
First off, that discount isn't very honest. It has probably stayed around 53% off for months, if not years. That's just how Bulova watches are usually priced on Amazon, with an illusory discount.
Second, that watch is in no way a dress watch. It's a 17.5mm CHONKER, as in HUGE. If you have a large, hairy wrist on ya, then by all means go for the CHONKERS but otherwise stay away.
Lastly, it doesn't seem like a great value for $399, given that you're only getting mineral crystal and a quartz movement. The precisionist movements aren't bad though, as they are high frequency quartz movements with a smooth sweep.
If you want a better value alternative within the same brand, I would check out Bulova's CURV chronographs or the one in the link below. This particular one is almost 3mm less thick and has sapphire crystal instead of mineral for a bit over $200, same movement and all.

Whatever you choose, make sure it has PURE CLASS. Okej chao.
IDK how srs, but just in case: that's a paracord braid. Looks like orange paracord with inset reflective thread.
Here's how to tie that braid:
Not sure about the specific color, but the type is something like this:
I think it's about a buck's worth of paracord, or less, you're looking at, plus a buckle. I'd recommend a solid gold one, to spruce it up a bit.
I can only say that the chrono movement doesn’t suck. I got one of those 1963s on Amazon a while ago and it’s a really fun piece.

Yeah, this one. Still waiting on my GA-2100-1AER to get here from ebay because I wasn't about to pay $200 to the people selling it on Amazon.

uj/ Not gonna lie, I use this 3M Paint Protection Film on my watch bracelets.

I put it on the clasps since that's the part I always end up fucking up. You can't even tell it's on there from anything more than "bad breath distance."
I bought this cheaper one, and I love it. I use the drawer for watch tools and straps. Watch Box
Love the Vostok, currently figuring out which one I want to buy.
If you want the Wolf look, there’s a 12 slot box on Amazon that looks nice. I’ve asked people and they like the box, but I don’t personally have experience with it
I thought of this idea when I wanted to play around with a mechanical watch and get a feel of it. I engaged with a developer and designer, and came up with the first version.
It's essentially a virtual mechanical watch, with a chronograph function, and it's designed to work and interact exactly like a mechanical watch.
Features include:
All functionality is designed to be used as an actual watch, winding using the crown, tap crown on watch to pull it out to time set position, same crown to adjust time, setting, etc all from the crown and pushers.
Here is the link to the app on the Google Play Store. It's called iHorology. Its just android for now, iOS is in the pipeline, along with improvements from this version once I get feedback.
For the next version, I'm planning on having a few settings - accuracy level, power reserve, smoothness of the sweep, a couple of bezel options, maybe even a calendar complication.
Any other ideas would be appreciated too. I'm all ears. thanks :)
ok ciao
Ignore all the bad information here. While the Seiko 5 is an amazing timepiece steeped in horological traditions (ancient aliens), it’s not the official moonwatch.
A very quick search with the Oracle of the Amazon revealed this hidden truth. Here is the grail you seek: Bulova Men's Lunar Pilot Chronograph Watch 96B251 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AJE2WAW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hSUpBbB1RHFBD

I've finally assembled my grail travel collection.
I was literally chuffed to a single bit when I was able to aquire this fantastic Richard Mille homage for a single penny. It's understated, flate, dual time zone dial punches above it's price point. The 0ml flask function at 4 will keep the feds away for sure. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TQ5LN1F
You all know the classic Russian Rolex. I don't need to say any more than that.
Last, but not least, is the vintage automatic Vacheron Constantin I found in my dead grandpa's cutlery drawer. I'm sure he had to hide it there from grandma since he did all the cooking. She only baked and those utensils were in a different drawer. Yes, it wears small by today's standards, but grandpa was a big man at 1.95m. If he could wear it, then I sure can.
Ok, Sláinte
No, things like Birkin bags, you have to buy scarves or otherwise show your willingness to buy a purse. Rolex is just learning from top-notch luxury brands.
There's an interesting book about what it takes to get a Birkin https://www.amazon.com/Bringing-Home-Birkin-Pursuit-Coveted/dp/0061473340
And more than that would need special training and you're going to want tank monitoring, so you might as well go for a professional setup.
For a casual diver, 100m is plenty. Most divers will probably still have a backup, but I don't see it as being any different than a casual depth-meter watch with timing functions, like a Seiko NX or Gshock GWF-D1000 Frogman, or on the cheap side a Pyle which only has 100m rating and is used as a casual dive computer.
Generally r/watches and r/RegularHorologyFans (the latter is a bit less angsty/pretentious) are the places to go for "sensible" watch advice. This is a circlejerk sub so it tends to be facetious, pisstaking etc, although generally pretty wholesome and often more helpful than many of the posts in the "real" subs.
I suspect most of the price of the watch you've linked is about the marketing rather than actual historical value ;)
For similar styles have a google for "pilot watch" and "field watches". If you just want a watch of a roughly similar style and don't really care about the movement etc then stick "quartz" in front of those search terms. You'll find stuff starting at probably about £10 up to well into the £thousands. Something like this Citizen will be a decent quality watch for a sane price, and it's solar powered so you don't need to worry about changing batteries etc, or you can pick up e.g. Timex Expedition Scouts from about £25 new.
For summer I am using this red/orange silicone strap on my C63 GMT. Cannot stop recommending it!
Wanted a red one but was worried it would crash with the orange of the gmt hand and details. This is a perfect middle-ground and works great!

It’s mechanical not battery powered so be warned if you’re new to watches
Or get the one in the pic if you love it , not sure if its battery powered or not
It's the fancy version of a senior's phone? This one also comes in gold.
Uj/ for anyone looking for something like this check out Haofa. They make a watch that in my opinion looks slightly better at around half the price, and I'm pretty sure the movement is made by the same manufacturer.
Please buy this as well and do a YouTube video in which you straight faced explain how to tell a real one from a "reproduction". I really want to watch something like that but can't imagine it exists yet. This is the launch of your YouTube career for watchedcirclejerks benefit.
It's out of stock now, but Amazon had this PR100 around $240 for most of last year:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FFNQH4E/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_18NZ75EHVPBTBA5QMJH0?psc=1
I'm probably lucky with the accuracy to get one that's spot on. But from what I've read from others, the Powermatic 80s tend to be quite good.
You can still find silver dial or two tone versions at Jomashop for about $250. And the Couturier line has some cool looking models for about $300.
Hey man my PAZZO lamp and JOOFO chair.

That's clearly an homage of the Frontier Aqua Force Tactical White Face Watch w/EL Backlight Flashlight Compass (100M Water Resistant).
Here I'm not sure what movement it is, as i found limited details, they mainly use Seiko or Miyota movements i believe, but wouldn't be surprised if they're using chinese movements for some models.
From what i can find elsewhere you can currently buy this model from direct shipping from china for $94.

I love the bad reviews on customer service on a $54 watch.
uj/ I dig it!
I’m glad you like it! Wear it in good health mate.
For those interested, I was really hesitant to let this time piece go. I have been keeping this in a secret offshore Swiss bank vault for the last 76.2 years for my unborn son. It has a lot of sentimental value as it is his birth year watch and I even signed the warranty card in his name, Rolecks.
Due to unforeseen financial circumstances which I will not go into, I have to let this baby go. But I know it will be in good hands and thoroughly enjoyed.
Alright, I’m off to rebuild my parents house! The building materials just arrived from DHL.
Flashlight would be useful. Something like this, only not shit.
The other day I knicked a finger and wished that my watch would dispense those tiny band-aids. Could easily fit a few in the bottom of a case.
Other random idea: Old man watch models could add a compartment for pills.
You can try the Duro free for 7 days on Amazon and send it back if you don’t like it. That’s what I did and fell in love with it.

The dial design is a bit different, but this Citizen is an absolute steal at $89. They're usually 2 or 3 times that price. I'd be tempted to buy it myself if it were 3mm smaller:
Here's a solar Casio on a nylon strap that could be easily swapped for leather:
Good luck!
uj/ personally I wouldn't replace the dial (and possibly not the crystal unless legibility is an issue), the wear and tear makes it unique, by removing any trace of your grandfather wearing it just turns it into any old watch. Also yes that size was normal 60 years ago, slowly becoming normalised nowadays too
rj/ let your Invicta AD use it as a cock ring so you get a sweet 5% off MSRP on this beauty ok ciao https://www.amazon.co.uk/Invicta-Analogue-Quartz-Stainless-30124/dp/B07VTQTCB7
We Casio enjoyers get to chuff hard, but also play hard!
It's a neat watch, and not as big as the other G-Shocks (which suits my rolecks cuck wrist). The negative display can be hard to read sometimes though. It's not terrible, but it's a thing to consider. I spend most of my working day in meetings and it's convenient having a watch when you are bored as fuck and want to check the time without making it obvious, so if you are in a similar situation, a regular display might be better. This is the model:
Did she also want analog? These digital ones have Indiglo: https://www.amazon.com/Timex-TW7C26000-Machines-Digital-Double-Layered/dp/B07FFB9NFD
But yeah, you're spot on. The small unisex models like the one I'm leaning toward seem to be the best bet if the size is OK.
Closest thing to it is the SNKK71. $89 on Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNKK71-Automatic-Stainless-Steel/dp/B004MAVO72/ref=asc_df_B004MAVO72/
I used to have one, they're really nice. The bracelet is pretty bad though, I highly recommend getting a decent black leather strap for it instead. I got a Hadley Roma from Amazon for around $17 and the watch looked like a million bucks.
Butterfly clasp is the smooth way of expanding it. You can fit clasps to basic bracelets.

/rj That's why you can't expect more, a good miniature painting by a trained Chinese artisan will easily cost double that, add a genuine Japanese piezo crystal movement, high quality alloy case, mineral crystal and genuine leather band, you're easily looking at 100k upwards for a watch like this.

But MSRP is way lower, you can get these even cheaper if you try. So yeah, Casio edges Citizen here.
I think this is a reasonably unique design. I don't have one and don't plan on buying one, but it's a pretty fair product.
Amazon has even started to copy casios.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YQFHVJF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_ET5YMQ5N9GVXEYTNZ53R
You can find other brands on Amazon that are blatant copies of casio watches. The most prominent I have seen is SKMEI. But there are others as well.
Finally in shady parts of my town you can find cheap casio fakes under the brand CASLO. These are around a dollar each and they look that they are not even worth that much. At least the fakes on Amazon look like they could pass as casio.
/uj “water tastings” and “water sommeliers” are a thing; there’s even a guide book on different kinds of artisanal still, spring, artesian, glacial, pH balanced, etcetera waters and how they taste.

hi r/WatchesCirclejerk
I know this is no a seiko 5 on a nato post, but please bear with me.
I thought of this idea when I wanted to play around with a mechanical watch and get a feel of it. I checked if an app already existed, but it did not. I thought about it more and more, and realized that there are so many watch enthusiasts who aspire to own mechanical watches, and want to get a feel of it before they own one, I know I did. That's when I decided to do something about it. I engaged with a developer and designer, and came up with the first version, the bare minimum, the essence of my idea.
Please have a look and share your thoughts on this, I kept the current build simple knowing that it would need a new version soon, so really looking forward to feedback from enthusiasts.
Here is the link to the app on the Google Play Store. It's called iHorology.
I plan on adding more complications and settings soon, so users can select the features they want on their watch. Setting like power reserve, accuracy levels etc.
Any other ideas would be appreciated too. I'm all ears. thanks :)
ok ciao
uj/ I have absolutely no need for a new watch but I’m really considering this Casio edifice https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Edifice-Quartz-Stainless-Steel-Silver/dp/B07RQK6X8F?ref_=Oct_DLandingS_M_8218a1e5_60&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Not surprisingly, it feels a bit cheap. And you'd need to cut indentations because it's too thick at 22mm.
