If you're using an Android phone, preferably with OLED screen, I recommend Touch Blocker.

It'll keep your phone's screen alive while blocking touch input, so you can just leave it active in your pocket. Added bonus is the black background reduces power consumption on OLED screens.
I searched high and low for a stylus wand and well I came up empty. But just as hope was tossing itself out the window I found some keychain wands on amazon that were made of metal. So I did a little bit more searching and I found some replacement stylus tips.
You can find the wands easily on amazon. As for the tips I used these ones. I cut the ends off to expose the rubber, drilled a hole into the end of the wand and glued them in. Easy!
...but I bet you could just slip these on the end of the wands and make your life that much easier.
Osm is a collaborative map. https://www.openstreetmap.org
It's like the Wikipedia of maps. You can query a region with the ? Tool. You can correct it of it's not updated, however it will probably not be updated on the game in many months, so don't hold your breath
Nice spreadsheet! It takes quite a while to sort through all of those. I actually think I have all of those in the link near the bottom of my post.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/zjHWzkdPhFEaPQFw7
In fact, looks like I have a few of the gaps you're missing. Nearly-Headless Nick for example. Feel free to pull down stuff from that Google Photos album if you want to include it in your spreadsheet.
You can use the app "Activity Launcher" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher). Just download and start it, search the Wizards Unite app and expand. Now hold the entry with "MainActivity" and click "Create shortcut". Now, a new icon is created on your home screen. For now on, use this icon to start the app and the black screen is gone.
> You don't buy a GameCube and bitch about not being able to play Switch games.
Those 2 situations are totally not comparable.
Switch games are advertised as being ONLY for the Switch. Using your analogy, I could basically replace Gamecube with any material in the world... "You don't buy a brick and bitch about not being able to play Switch games". Invalid argument that proves nothing.
Niantic/WB/Portkey can decide themselves through the Play Stores/IOS Stores which phones are compatible. They do this by deciding up to which Android Version they want to let the game be supported, which in our case, is Android 5.0.
The reality is completely different however: phones that do not support AR+ are completely locked out of a single major feature, Portkeys. And there's loads of uncertainty on whether or not a phone supports this feature fully. The fact that you are able to install Wizards Unite and not able to use all of its features to their fullest extent is in my opinion wrong, and why Play Store should be able to enforce much stronger "requirements" before one is able to download the game, despite the ARCore website's list of supported devices being quite elaborate.
> So don't play.
My problem with this statement is more that you're turning this into a clown show instead of a serious discussion. How can you tell people to just "not play if they're not willing to spend money"? A part of the population that reads your posts may have more money issues in real life and are looking to relax a bit in their free time, preferably for free.
Plenty of games DO fit that specification. Wizards Unite could as well with some proper tweaking, it really doesn't need that many changes.
PoGo didn't originally keep the screen awake, I ended up buying Wakey back in the day (and still use it).
Various dimming settings for when the phone times out, with an extra Idle timer if I want it even dimmer.
WiFi versus data has no effect on spawns.
Spawn points are based on cellphone data circa 2014.
I think areas tagged as elementary or secondary schools at https://www.openstreetmap.org do not have spawns. (Military installations, too.)
>Pokémon Go only has a few Pokémon appear at my house but after someone else in the house bought a fair amount of gold coins last year there are always a lot of items around.
False. Spawn points are determined from cellphone data circa 2014. Niantic has adjusted the data once since then, in response to complaints from rural players: https://pokemongolive.com/post/communitynote-niantic-encounters
The official announcement was December 2019, but Redditors started reporting the changes in September.
The one thing players can do is make sure the information at https://www.openstreetmap.org is accurate. (For example, tags for elementary schools will block all spawns.)
Spending money on the game will not increase spawns.
I can give you one that is not set as a park.
This node: https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/4848781111 is set to Care of Magical Creatures. It's set as amenity: animal_shelter (St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center).
The flag is near the Southeast border of the building, and the highlighted area is the campus (the flat green area encompassing the building and parking lot, not extending into the reservation land around it.)
Take this picture then. It clearly says that the first two steps have been mastered, but there are still two steps left. What do you get for those two steps?
It used to be 30 minutes but it was increased to 60 minutes. I know not about any difference between different crops.
You can also set timers with Calcy WU, at least on Android.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tesmath.calcywu&hl=en
You can also create a shortcut on your homescreen, that directly launches the MainActivity of WU (like the Store does.) There are apps for that, e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
Note: if on Android, one person suggested using Proximity Service app, which works well for me:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ss.proximityservice&hl=en_US
"...uses your device's proximity sensor to control the screen on/off state. Simply covering the sensor will turn the screen off whilst keeping the device awake - perfect for games that need to be running in the foreground but don't need your continuous attention. Flip your phone on a table, place it in your pocket, or use any other means to cover the proximity sensor. As soon as the sensor is uncovered, the screen will come back on."
