Evangelion 3.33 was supposed to be released for DVD and BD sometime in early 2014. Preorders were set and ready to go by December, but then this happened. Since then, all Evangelion 3.33 releases were cancelled for region one (Germany and other areas got their releases on time); we also have no news from Funimation about the releases since they were postponed. Thus, it is assumed to be postponed indefinitely. Funimation's original excuse was that they wanted to stall a bit so the movie could be aired in theatres more until it was released, but that turns out to be a load of crap now. Their new excuse that they are using now is that they wanted to work with Studio Khara to match the American release as close to the original as possible (which may be industry speak for "we can't release this because they won't let us"). Either way, long story short, there's no official release date and it's been two years since it was released in Japan. At this rate, the pirated copies will long outnumber the official copies, if they haven't proven they will already.

It wasn't really anything worth remarking on, but it's been a slow news day. =)
ANN included a brief description of the premise (no surprise it's brief since these are 5-minute episodes):
> In the story, the world is in trouble because Washu is stirring up trouble again. In order to save the world from crisis, Tenchi goes undercover as a teacher in a girls' school. However, many problems arise as Tenchi is predisposed to finding trouble.
So I'm thinking that the traditional characters are taking a backseat to the Tenchi-students relationship.
Didn't link to Arc Systems press release because it's a rather unusual link. Here it is in case you weren't able to access it from the link posted in the tweet.

Yeah, heard about this on ANN.
I haven't read or watched any of this franchise yet. Is this new show a sequel to the existing one? Or some kind of alternate universe?
Here's ANN's post about the news with more info about the film.
On a side note, patiently waiting for when this film will be available for a hard copy since the prequel Sakasama no Patema - Beginning of the Day was amazing.
Thanks for that, it seems that they've been having some issues with their news forums the past few days, "http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=351273&goto=newpost"(which was the post with the info) goes nowhere now...
FUNimation has a bit more info on their blog detailing the upcoming release of "Darker than Black" Season 2 here in North America on November 8th.
