Maps will have this in iOS13:

"Place cards
Place cards are more helpful and easier to use, with dynamically updated information for things like Today@Apple sessions at Apple Store locations, movie theater time listings, and more." (vide https://www.apple.com/ios/ios-13-preview/features/)
they are being constructed right now; you can actually see the different sections on openstreetmap.org where they are listed as "highway under construction"
The feature is called ‘Incident Reporting’ and as others have stated it’s pretty limited availability. Once they announce it (I don’t recall ever seeing it publicly announced, but I could be mistaken) I’m assuming you’ll see it listed and the supported counties on the iOS feature availability page located here:
Apple Maps is available in Lebanon.
What’s unavailable are various features, like Directions, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Traffic, Look Around, Lane Guidance, Speed Limits, Transit, Real-Time Transit, Flyover, Nearby, Indoor Maps for Airports, and Indoor Maps for Malls. But you’d be surprised how many countries are missing many of these features. They mostly require specific effort by Apple to implement, and Apple has prioritized countries where they sell more iPhones. Unlike Google Maps, Apple Maps doesn’t directly generate revenue. It’s a reason to buy an iPhone, not a revenue source.
More info here on which countries have each feature: https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/#maps-standard
Yes the new feature in iOS 15 is AR walking directions. You need to scan the buildings around you to use this feature, just like the refine location feature that was added in iOS 14. Seems like Apple has expanded this feature which has only been available in select cities in the United States before according to the iOS Feature Availability page.
Can confirm it was added https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/
Regarding corrections, they’ve also used GitHub to track and improve changes. Your location will probably have to rely on TomTom and OpenStreetMaps for a few more years unfortunately. The best thing in the meantime for POI’s in such places is when they integrate with local providers such as iPeen in China or Foursquare in US/EU.
I doubt that’ll ever happen (or at least not without some sort of oversight).
In Australia Apple gets street data from TomTom, so I’ve been getting fixes into their system using MapShare Reporter which means they appear in Apple Maps that much faster.
For geometry data (mostly green areas for parks) an email to with screenshots (usually from OSM) to show details of what needs to be added gets things happening.
I don’t know about indoor maps or public transport though.
They will exist in about 1.5 years; they are being constructed (you can actually see the different sections on openstreetmap.org where they are listed as "highway under construction ")
DDG switched over to use Apple Maps last year (or the year before? I dont remember exactly). Apple Maps has their own version Street View called Look Around, but it very limited where it is available. Here is a list of where it is available. I don’t think you can access Look Around via DDG, but only via the Apple Maps apps on iPhone/iPad/Macs.
Actually, there are many airports outside the USA with indoor mapping; most of the major Asian and European airports are covered as listed here:
https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/#maps-indoor-maps-airports
My issue with Apple Maps is many of it's highlighted features like refine location, look around, cycling, etc. are only available in selected US and beyond locations. I live in a major US metro area with 2.5M population and have none of these extra features.
So here’s my understanding on it so far. Sorry if I’m repeating some things you already may know, but it is just to be as thorough as possible. I’m using the example from the WWDC keynote, this one from Apple’s website (scroll down) and the The iOS14 Apple Maps Thread on MacRumors Forums for my information. It takes elevation into account and shows you a graph for the elevation change throughout the route, as well as how high the potential climb for the route would be. You can choose to avoid busy roads, hills and stairs (the last option seems to be missing in Developer Beta 2, but I guess that could return in the future since it was emphasised in the Keynote). It will show you if there are bike lanes and/or bike paths. It will show you if the paths are shared with pedestrians and other shared roads (with cyclists going in the opposite direction or cars? Unclear, see image from the link above) and if there are protected lanes. It well tell you if walking is required or using stairs (this will also be marked with a symbol on the overview map, as well as a symbol for steep passages). It will also give you a suggested routed (why is it’s suggested? Unclear.) and other options based on certain criteria for example the fastest route or a less busy route. You can also choose cycling as your preferred type of travel in the Maps settings and I presume that you would be able to select it in the Calendar app too for events with a location so you are reminded when you need to leave to get there on time.
I peeked at your post history and found that you’re from Serbia. Serbia, unfortunately, only has directions, but not turn-by-turn navigation, so you don’t have access to the Share ETA feature (or any of the other navigation features). See this page from Apple for the full list of countries that have access to each set of features.
The website still claims in multiple places that it’s coming “across the U.S. by the end of 2019,” and Apple’s usually pretty quick to update their website when plans like this change, but I’m really starting to doubt they’ll make it. I’m mostly curious if they’re being more cautious now given the issues in some areas with the new map where users were being routed down private/blocked roads.
If nothing starts rolling out next week, I’d say it’s probably not coming until next year considering time off for the holidays and such.
Just get a VPN app and connect to a server in China. The app I use is FlyVPN, they give 3 free 20 minute trials each day for all servers of their premium service.
But I made a post last year with some details Apple Maps China
