I say it every time people start asking about this program not working for them. Check out The Oden Project You can do it at your own pace/time and start whenever. It’s also free.
$15 an hour for a Junior Developer, preferably with a Computer Science degree?
Junior devs - You can do freelance work that will easily pay more than this, and build your portfolios to boot. If all they're willing to pay is $15/hr, you're probably looking at a terrible environment with an even worse codebase, so look at it as a bullet dodged.
**edit - Yup, I was right about the even worse codebase. From the job listing:
"You will be interacting with an outsourced, global development team" i.e. the lowest bidders from India and Sri Lanka.
There are some brilliant coders in these countries who could teach you a lot. The global developers hired by a company that pays Junior devs $15/hr will be bottom of the barrel, spaghetti coders of the worst sort. I know, my last job used them.
This company is looking to hire easily disposable trash. Even if they hire you on full time, good luck negotiating up from $15/hour. Good luck getting a good salary at your next job when they find out how little you made at your first one. Why should they pay you industry standard when you've already proven yourself willing to slave away at a low rate.
Do not take this job. It will be bad for your career, it will be bad for your growth as a developer.

Required skills - Wordpress, JavaScript, PHP, SEO, HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Design. 15/hr. 3-4 month contract. This is so unbelievably out of touch.
I would say bench tech would be an amazing way to get in. You’re usually paired with a small team, 1-3 people, and it’s work you’re already used to being a mechanic. Just computers now. You’ll get to dip your toes in to other aspects and if you show drive, an employer with teach you.
Coding is a totally different beast. Check out The Odin Project and if you’re serious you’ll have a job that pays well in the end. Or maybe even spark something you can use to create your own company helping mechanics.
Side note: coding is a language. Think about how important English is all over the world. Coding is becoming more important. As with any language, get your kids started young. Google coding for kids and there’s unlimited ways to teach them.
I'd maybe list an address here on your resume rather than an address somewhere else as well, far more likely to actually get a call back
It still seems low (see this link for average salary).
I'm pretty sure I saw the Dairy Queen on Burnett offering $10/hr start. If I was having someone handle billing or insurance information, and I listed competitive pay as one of the benefits in the job description then I'd probably bump it up to around $13 to start. That's just my take on it though.
Last summer I had the first professional job interview since the late '90s. I felt pretty nervous, but in retrospect it was a piece of cake compared to relationship disagreements. Each successive interview got easier and easier. I picked up on formalities and responses to questions, and eventually it felt exciting, like going on a field trip.
I bet 99% of companies don't have it all figured out. At some places i've seen pages of code in production that served no purpose or could be replaced with a couple lines. It's really all about who can talk their way in or knows someone.
If you're interested, there's an online coding event in a couple days that may be fun: http://www.codingame.com/cg/

Im sure you have found this already, but Built In Austin is a nice way to find tech companies: https://www.builtinaustin.com/jobs
Maybe also remove any non-tech jobs from resume as it may distract from your tech jobs for resume readers.
For SQL, look for Business Intelligence/ Reporting jobs, SQL is always valued there.
Good luck man, pm me and we can see if I can refer you or at least connect on LinkedIn to expand your network.

Despite other comments I think the concept sounds cool. There is probably a demand for this at a consumer level for trading cards, figurines, old video games in shops in Japan.
It would mean taking on all the financial risk but maybe look into https://privacy.com for processing payments when buying the Vinyl in shops. The company lets you generate temporary credit cards with lots of options for limiting merchants, amounts etc.
When an appointment is set have a card generated and sent to the Avatar. Guess this would only work if the merchant accepts contactless payment.
Just saw this

Rackspace is an excellent place to get your feet wet in tech. You'll work with some of the smartest, most humble, kindest people you've ever met and get to take advantage of countless training classes in a variety of subjects.
I'm not labmonkey, but I work at the same office. They are now hiring sales members through MNV, our portfolio company. You can see the jobs listed here: http://www.indeed.com/m/jobs?q=Macmillan+New+Ventures
Also, I would scour indeed.com doing different searches based on p2p, c++, Ruby, Java, Linux etc.
I landed a dozen interviews in about 3 weeks time from this site.
Note: I have some of my portfolio online for people to look at. You have about a 1000% increase to land a job interview for design if you have this.
I think most people can be on the phone with somebody and do something else simultaneously, in fact I see the proof of that whenever I go outside. If you mean difficult just from an ergonomic perspective, it's also a non-issue, I can just send you one of these https://www.amazon.com/FastSun-Universal-Hanging-Self-Timer-Adjustable/dp/B07PGMHHBC.
