Soak wheels in hot, almost boiling, water with vinegar and the full bottle of dye. Stir regularly for about 30 mins. Then, keep them soaked for at least 1 week, while stirring daily. Keep the wheels completely submerged.
The center core and graphics barely absorbed any dye, so it looks like they came from the factory as black wheels.

Seen a few Redditors add 3M tape to the side of their boards. I decided to add it to the skid plates for more visibility at night.

Oh man I miss Fort Point. Moved to NYC a year ago (so views aren't too bad here) but I do love that bridge.
From left to right, the boards are the Tan Tien, Dervish Sama, Icarus, and the Boosted Board. Tan Tien and Dervish Sama are more of my cruising boards with the Icarus a carving board. I mostly ride the Dervish and my wife rides the Tan Tien (since it's smaller). Also bought and returned the Loaded Overland (didn't like it as much)
The stands are the guitar stands from Amazon mentioned here a lot. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LBKFYUO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I tried out different trucks and wheels and found the orangatang 80a to be the best for me (same as on the Boosted Board). The 2 on the left have Caliber II trucks. I like the Caliber trucks since they spring back to neutral position quickly which is great for cruising and is very stable. The Icarus is meant for carving so it has looser Paris v2 trucks. I tried the 80mm Orangatang Kegal wheels on these boards and always managed to get wheelbite (and thus crashing) so I went with 70mm wheels and can ride without worrying
Nose and tail guards also from Amazon. Highly recommended as these went flying into the curb a few times and no damage to the board: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGJ8PHM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hope this helps!
You have 2 options.
Lastly invest in flatlands bash guard. Google it. Its cheap and will protect the tip(s). No one likes a bent tip(s).

Just came the other day. 27 bucks on Amazon. It's certified, looks good, fit's well, and is pretty comfortable. I picked it based on reviews in other threads here. Seemed like a trusted brand.
If the buyer doesn’t want them, yes. Got them on amazon however for £20 Mechanix Wear - M-Pact Fingerless Covert Gloves (Large, Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EOWA4H8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_GdNWBb943PZAS
I could be getting tricked, but this seems like a better deal for the same thing and includes replacement batteries. Amazon
I bought these on Amazon. They're way better than the boosted OEM version and you get 10 for $11. They're also detachable.

Pretty much. It can even change ride modes. It cant change the board name, because the obvious lack of a keyboard. Although, I did make an actual Boosted app substitute
It cradles the wheels and is pretty stable. I have mine in a corner but it's not resting on a wall at all.
This particular guitar stand has a nice foam bit near the top which keeps the grip tape from contacting the metal sides. I think some of the other stands are missing that or have a smaller cushion.
There's probably vids on YouTube for what's acceptable noise and change noises. I have been running stock bearings on the drive wheels and zealous on front for over 600mi on the v1 and about 200 mi on the v2. Put them in when I got the boards and haven't changed since.
Skip the ceramics, these free spin at least as long as bone ceramics and are cheap to replace. Zealous bearings on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Zealous-Bearings-Longboards-Skateboards/dp/B00BL9VCRE

I removed the battery and put it in my backpack with my laptop. I flew Jetblue from Ft Lauderdale, Florida to Cancun, Mexico... no problems or questions. TA did an extra check on the battery, again no problem. I arrived in Cancun 2 days ago.

Lol, but seriously.. you get the idea.

$25, and if you give me your zip I can quote shipping. Probably between $8 and $11 if you're in the US. Also just to be clear it's only the proprietary charger part, you'll also need the PC power cable, which is super common and cheap.
Wheel bearing tend to rust, as well as bolts and bushings cups. If you wipe it down and lubricate (not for bearings) once in a while, you will be okay.
Wheel bearing are well protected inside, but they might rust outside, which is not a problem besides that it might be harder in the future to get them out.

word to the wise, do not buy gloves without any wrist protection... currently, like literally 2 mins ago i purchased a pair on amazon to test them out, the seem pretty decent, if i bail off the board and they dont help ill get someone to let you know, cause with a broken wrist i dont think im going to be doing much typing
I use this Amazon - Dakine Backpack to strap my board to when I'm walking for any distance (e.g. office or a metro station). No complaints from me for the quality, but the board wheels may hang a little low for some.
It can handle a laptop, couple reference books, and skate tools. I wouldn't keep lunch in it when I have the reference books though.
I figure that this parallels your use case.
A snowboard strap is a decently cheap solution, but definitely less comfortable. I have this one. It's $7.99. Lots of people are apparently getting the Brdbag. If you're OK with dropping the $86, it's available on Amazon with prime.
Let me get back to you on the core differences. I printed Abec adapters and they seem to fit mine but I haven’t actually had a chance to ride yet. I’ve never heard of “mbx” cores and my wheels were specifically advertised as using Abec cores, which look just like the ones you linked.
These are the ones I got on amazon. They are available in several colors.
Maybe there’s a slight fitment issue I’ll feel once I ride them. Out of town for a few days without board though.
Belts may or may not be needed depending on your pulley selection. If you choose the larger pulley to keep the original torque and top speed, you need different belts. If you keep the original pulley size for lower torque and higher top speed you can keep the original belts. In general, when choosing a pulley they’ll tell you if you need new belts as long as you read the description closely.
Covers seem to be more dependent on the placement of the urethane around the core and seems to be more of an issue for the Kegel-core designs because the urethane may not be offset enough to stay out of contact with the inside face of the wheel. It never hurts to try the original covers and modify them if needed, but sometimes the pulley you choose will also say in the description if they require different covers.
is been a mission trying to find a bag... saw a post on here from a youtube video mini-s review at 5:36 you can check the os skateboard bag backpack someone had provided the link. can't seem to find it anywhere. maybe you have better luck, let me know.
thanks
Edit: Just received it from amazon today and I believe it will work perfect to travel ✈️
I don’t own one myself, but I’d recommend this sling bag I saw on Etsy/ amazon. I contacted the seller and they told me that boosted boards fit just fine.

Looks like a light up wrist band, runners usually wear them for running the in the dark

Read my above post. In order to charge a battery you need to supply it more voltage than it currently has. You need a 54.5v output charger. I bought a charger off Amazon and changed the lead to a 5.5x2.5 barrel. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C9BTB4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I took my V2 with the standard range battery from Denver to the California using Frontier Airlines. According to this sub, frontier has the absolute worst reputation for allowing stuff like this, but I had already booked the flight so I wanted to take the risk and see how it went.
I just detached the battery from the board, and stored it in a Ziploc in the Boosted bag that I have. I bought a cheap longboard bag off Amazon l ($8) to go around the board just to make it look less eye-catching in TSA and the airport. When you go through TSA you need to remove the battery from whatever bag you store it in and put it in a container with all of your other electronics (laptops, GoPros, drones, consoles, whatever you take with you). If you dont they will think youre trying to hide it and thats not good.
I stored the board in the overhead carry on cabinet.
Heres the cheap longboard bag (it looks grey in the pics but its black) : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K5BDP6E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_liMMCbHDNBB5X
I also went to frontier’s rules on their website and looked under the lithium ion batteries section and found that they allow two lithium ion batteries in checked luggage or carry-on bags. The standard range battery exceeded the weight limit, but nobody said anything to me while I was checking it so apparently they let it slide sometimes?
Either way, TLDR: SR battery in ziploc bag, removed during screening, stored in carry on during flight.
I had these on my mini x. They fit over the deck. The height of the deck is perfect as to the height of these nose and tail guards.

your belts are either to worn and you need to replace them
or they just arnt tight enough, just loosen the screws holding the motor and pull it tight then tighten the screws while pulling
I just bought these. Haven't used them yet but they look as good as any and it's a great deal. $19 for 6 belts with free shipping if you have prime!

My charging port broke and was unable to solder it back on. Found this lipo 1s charger on amazon and soldered it directly to the battery. Seems to be doing the trick.
I use this bag for a Mini if I'm needing to walk much without using the board: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BMUXCR4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

EDIT: It seems brighter than shred lights(which might be another option) but I would do some research into it first or look for something similar?
I honestly didn't mean it to be a shot at anyone. It's actually just a difficult problem that affects multiple companies.

I have a Mini X + V2 and I have been buying these belts for about 3 years now 💪 Momentum Boards is the company that makes them and I have never had any issues compared to other belts: https://www.amazon.com/Boosted-Board-Belts-Factory-Quality/dp/B07T2H7MY7/ref=sxts_rp_s_a_1_0?content-id=amzn1.sym.9cb06d61-cbae-4109-9d1e-14578fae3d41%3Aamzn1.sym.9cb06d61-cbae-4109-9d1e-14578fae3d41&crid=306DGW6TTK5ST&cv_ct_cx=boosted+bel...
That's tough. It helps to check the belt gears for small pebbles before venturing out. Sometimes the belts will give you a warning before they go. Surprisingly, I have not heard of Forever Belts.. But I've been successfully using these belts from Amazon for at least 1000miles. Kutrick Boosted Board Kevlar Belts I keep a spare set of these in my kit with some allen keys. Good riding!
Is these the ones on the caps of the motors?
I think these ones.

It's indeed an Android problem. A temporary fix is rolling back your Boosted app to an earlier version. I did this on my phone and it solved the connection issues. If you go to https://apkpure.com/boosted-boards/com.boostedboards.android on your phone you can download the APK for the 1.3.1 version of the app. This is the old design of the app but the connection is 100x better.
To install just make sure you delete you current Boosted app first. And disable auto updates in the Play Store to make sure your phone doesn't automatically update the app back to the newest (broken) version.
Hopefully u/BoostedBoards can fix this issue in the near future.

For anyone remotely interested, I just want to share this first trip I just completed on my BBD+:
Date: 15 Apr 2015 Distance: 5.95 km Duration: 16:59
To view 'Rode 5.95 km on 15/04/2015', follow the link below: http://www.mapmyride.com/view_workout?w=943147001
5.2 miles this morning. Rode it until it barely rolled. Actually went further than I expected, but still not 6. I'll fully discharge on the way home tonight as well.
<iframe height='405' width='590' frameborder='0' allowtransparency='true' scrolling='no' src='https://www.strava.com/activities/267449781/embed/122187664a46e95787681c2708e8521022ffff4a'></iframe>
I tested mine at about half speed (~15 km/h, original/Dual+) on a quite flat route, stopping only a few times and really trying to suck as much range as possible out of it. It lasted pretty much exactly 9.5 km / 6 miles. Going uphill and accelerating reduces the range significantly. In aggressive (but fun! lots of braking and accelerating) city riding, I'd say I get about 4-5 km. I weigh 75 kg (165 lbs). You can use this to calculate an approximate theoretical range: http://codepad.org/gPancpqH (built from http://www.exploratorium.edu/cycling/aerodynamics1.html)
So I found this guy's original posting of this board on FB marketplace here, near where I live, and he says got the board for Christmas. I was asking him about the board and the price was too high for me, so I suggested he post it on here. He had never used reddit before and I told him to get an account and post it so he could get more interested buyers.

That is great! I have not tested this using a cigarette lighter as the power source, and each car is different. I would hope it would work, my only concern is the cigarette plug on your car. otherwise if it doesn't, maybe you could run a positive wire direct to the battery along with a automotive inline fuse, and then connect the negative wire to the body/frame (Seat bolt makes a good negative connection on a car). And here is a link decent little inverter that should do the trick and leave some extra power for powering other devices too. Just remember to turn off the inverter if your car is off because then you are stranded! https://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-300Watt-Power-Inverter-Adapter/dp/B07KQ4Q2L5/

So within the boosted there’s two sets of wires, power and communication. The power was not the same but the comm was. The power cable was thinner than the backfire’s 14 AWG so I purchased the wire along with XT60 connectors pack here. For communication, they appeared similar in diameter/gauge with backfire. So I kept this cable and only used 3/4 included wires from the cable.
I managed to find the boosted 105s and installed them. You can also buy bigger pulleys and covers to compensate for the loss of acceleration, but they still get up and go on hills even without. Usually the manufacturer will offer “boosted kits” that include the bigger pulley & belt with larger pulley cover: IWONDER Cloud Wheel Discovery 105/120mm for Boosted Boards Skateboard Wheels and Pulley Conversion Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GS9LBTZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XT0Z6Q7MGDHMZ27RNS1S

Thanks, guys! Ended up getting these cost-effective belts on Amazon in a pack of 6 for around $19, although I expect these ones to wear out quickly and will be purchasing the kevlar belts from ROMP pretty soon, I imagine.
Another quick question: any recommendations on how I can best maintain my Mini X? I've been riding it around 5+ miles every day and haven't done much to maintain its good condition besides wiping off the bottom of the board every week or so.
This is the off brand belt I was considering. Get pretty good reviews online but not so much on this page. Just curious to see what yal think.

I messed up the post. Anyhow, I used M6x20 thumbscrews to make the process a bit easier, not necessarily faster, for swapping batteries. One thing that would drive me crazy was leaving the wrench behind, despite leaving it in the bag with the battery. “Senior Moments always Prevail”
These aren’t exactly what I wanted. But we’re easy and cheap. I will swap later on.

Second this. Learn to kick push, turn with looser trucks, stop and slide out a bit. In the winter, I practice on a balance board like this https://www.amazon.com/Revolution-Advanced-Balance-Board-Green/dp/B01G5WB9QU/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=balance%2Bboard&qid=1603736369&sr=8-3-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUUcyTTJEUVFYVUxPJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTk3NjUwUEZRUzlXMUNKOVBMJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2NTcyMTczTzVHT0VUMktDMjE0JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

Helps with balance and ankle strength.
Pretty cheap on amazon. I attached one to my monitor at work so I can see who's behind me when I'm working.

Best thing I found are these, work flawlessly. XR battery protectors Link to amazon above pic of mine
Yeah, but then I bought rechargeable ones from amazonhere and so far they’ve been ok. They are super bright and haven’t fallen this past week I’ve been using them. I have a mini and a v2 and they fit both.
Got the name for ya!

YOu can find them on Amazon for 59.99!
I second the Amazon comment. I order these and they last just as long if not longer than the Gates.

Just need to take it a part and clean off the grease and put a drop or two of light oil before use. A little pain in the ass, but saved a whole lot O money.

Had the bugger version if the flashlight before I got my booster board and got the mini by accident but have no complaints so far
I would suggest saving up. I don't know where you are in life, but I made a fun purchase of several hundred dollars right after I got a credit card, and it took forever to clear it out. I'd have been much better off saving.
Just saying about the Mini X everyone keeps suggesting, Amazon has a 5 payments of $199.80 deal. No interest, they just hit your card five times.

/r/personalfinance might be a good sub for this question, but I'm pretty sure they're going to tell you don't do it. They're just likely to be much more specific about why, and less sympathetic to the concept of spending so much on a skateboard.
I walk my daughter to school on my way to work and I got this $8 strap on Amazon that’s working well so far: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYESUDQ
It’s definitely a little awkward though; if I were going to be going inside or on transit a lot, I’d want a backpack to carry it vertically.
