Hi, I’ve got a 6” Yoshihiro VG10 w46 layers of cladding, rosewood handle and simple saya with pin. I’m trying to figure out how to add pictures for you...

That’s the link. I can email you more pictures if you send me your email address.
If you’re interested. I love it, but just never use it (if I used it a dozen times since April when I got it it’s be a lot) but it’s a joy in the hand.
This guy? Current price on Amazon is pretty reasonable. I'm not sure how much you would save getting it second hand, maybe $20 or so.

should be changed to https://www.amazon.com/some-product/dp/B123ABCF
. There are many ways to build affiliate links and so your safest option is to simply shorten links as much as possible.~~~~

His best bet is to get something like a Kiwi. Either that or spend another 20ish and get a basic Tojiro… but honestly, for a very first knife that he’s going to learn on, a kiwi is fine.
Grab a Fuji Nariha off of Amazon.
Relatively similar profile to the Tojiro DP, still cheaper. Decent edge retention for what it is.
