I found this on Amazon and have been happy with it. Looks very nice and it's a great letter opener. The blade is too thin for duties much harder than that, though. https://smile.amazon.com/Samior-Straighten-Titanium-Everyday-Gentlemans/dp/B07R49VY27
I have a Ganzo Firebird FH12 (D2 steel blade) with a flipper that drops shut. The steel framed one is frame-lock. Carbon and others are liner-lock. $25.90 @ Amazon.
I bought a Ganzo FH21 recently from amazon for $25. D2 steel, g10 scales, flipper with a crazy smooth deployment. I’m seriously impressed for the price. It shipped free with prime and I had it in a day... I regret nothing.
This is probably one of my favorite knives in my collection. The fit and finish is incredible. Mine is smooth as butter now that I've used it a lot. I recommend trying some grease on the washers/pivot area. I'm a big fan of this stuff.
The combination ceramic ball detent/lock bar is genius with how well it works.
I've got the entire collection of high end CRK clones and the only slightly disappointing one is the Umnumzaan because it comes on bearings rather than washers. Wish it stayed true to the original and stuck with the washers.
While it's pricey, this knife will easily out live me. It'll be one I hand down to my kids.
That kevin johns knife looks exactly like an Eafengrow knife. https://www.amazon.com/Eafengrow-Multitool-Survival-Tactical-EF55-black/dp/B07K2VHDXR/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=39IVZIYU1D8LM&keywords=eafengrow+knives&qid=1669676727&sprefix=Eafengrow%2Caps%2C79&sr=8-4

I figured since it's newer there was less of a chance that a copy being made would be from multiple makers yet and unless it became popular like a bugout 535, that is the same one.
I've always wanted to try putting something like Mother's Polishing Compound on the lock faces and then opening and closing the knife repeatedly to see if the compound would polish the lock face perfectly.
I got rid of most of my lockstick with some Ox-gard.
Put a little on the back of the blade and the lockbar and it makes the action real nice. I will say, after a day or so the lock stick has come back just a bit but only if I really fling it open. Most of the time it's slick as butter though.
Happy to report that some Ox-Gard completely solved my lock stick problems.
Got it from amazon for ~5 bucks.
Took a tiny little dab on the tip of a tooth pick and rubbed it on to the back of the blade where the lock up happens. Also a little bit along the spine of the blade where the lock bar travels.
No matter how hard I flick it, it releases smoothly every time.
Definitely recommend giving it a go!
Like Maxace and Kizer, they retail off aliexpress and the like... if you want to use Amazon it's about $100 more https://www.amazon.com/kevin-john-Folding-Timascus-Titanium/dp/B08NPG7SJS/ref=sr_1_32?crid=MTEEDZSJ4O6U&keywords=venom+bone+doctor+knife&qid=1666107013&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjUzIiwicXNhIjoiMC45MiIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=bone+doctor+knife%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-32&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3

The Sitivien ST-995 is amazingly cheap on amazon here for M390 steel, $70.
I love button locks, the Ti Kizer Cormorants are sweet, they have multiple deployment methods, they are around $180. If aluminum is ok, look at the Kizer Original, another button lock for $84. The Original reminds me a lot of a Protech Malibu in feel.
Currently, Gritomatic basic diamond set (their own brand) stones that are 240, 600, 1000, plus a 3000 ruby stone from amazon, plus a leather strop from Gritomatic. The Gritomatics are not the quality of higher priced stuff like Venev but quite a few steps above the plastic mounted stuff. The Gritomatic stuff is easy to find on Gritomatics site (they are cheaper there than on their store on Amazon, but in some cases with shipping it is a wash). This is the cheap Ruby stone that I am so far pretty happy with after some prep work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GTF6MGT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I haven't done the etching or stonewashing but the fine polish is easy... Tends to work better on some steels than others. (154CM just wants to have a mirror finish). I do it the hard way ... but if you have a buffer wheel you can use compound and go much faster... The hard way:
I think the "Makers Mark" is kind of unique to Spyderco as basically the name Spyderco is a makers mark (just like twosun is a makers mark)... I think Sypderco came up with the marketing name to hark back to a time of a craftsman working over an open forge. Having said that it is completely your decision what markings you leave on the knife.
I did it with a dremel and some buffing wheels like these:

You're removing metal, but not that much. Good luck!
The reason I asked is the 5 pointed torx bits (on ali) or next day from Amazon $10 for set would probably work out (even if not intended). Included example below ... (remove space between "." and com)

They are $14 now. Very accurate... I have two and they are accurate to 1/10th gram to calibrated weights. Crazy good for the price. But I'm sure there are many good options now.
Honestly? First impressions are pretty good, especially for 35 bucks and a company no one's heard of on Amazon. Right out of the package it was a bit heavy, but the balance is good with most of the weight in the handle. It came about kitchen knife sharp, and I was able to chop a tree branch in half with just a few swings. I tested the edge with a file, it skated pretty well, but there was some very very minor glinting after a few solid swipes. The tip survived a wood grain test with no problems whatsoever. I sharpened it to shaving sharpness pretty quickly after testing.
The handle is not smooth and has good texturing, and is absolutely perfect for my hands (kind of big, average length fingers). Overall good grip and easy to hold.
The sheath is kydex and holds the knife really well, it's definitely not going to fall out. The belt clip is solid, does need a bit of fiddling to figure it out, but it'll stay on your belt.
4/5 stars, one off due to the minor glinting from the file, and the fact that it did not arrive very sharp. Looking like a great beater knife. Love the fact that it's so solid for a 35 dollar blade, and I'll definitely try a few more knives from NedFoss in the future. If anyone wants to purchase, here's the link:
I have this knife I picked up on amazon in ti plain and its so good https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Non-Slip-Titanium-Survival-Tactical/dp/B083V48VV1/ref=sr\_1\_49?crid=1O88BMOX0QVQW&keywords=titanium+knife&qid=1652291012&sprefix=titanium+knife%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-49
It is on Amazon: https://www.ama zon.com/TwoSun-Outdoor-Titanium-Bearing-FastOpen/dp/B072BKXTQH
Beware: Lock doesn't match show ...
Is this the one you're talking about?
> With a dremel and proper accessories it would have probably taken less, but it was fun! Still a long way from mirror polished.
I make knives and getting a mirror polish without a buffer is a ridiculous amount of manual labor.
If you're going to do this two or three more times in the future, I'd get a dremel tool - they're pretty cheap and useful for so many other things, or even a proper buffer, a small one is like $75 on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/OPAVIOC-Jewelry-Polisher-Adjustable-Polishing/dp/B09MNB2VJH/
If you're just after cheap. Buy a Sr1 lite.
Here's an Amazon US link
You'll have it fast, with a warranty, and a known steel.
zknives is a convenient reference but it doesn't tell you the stuff you really need to know. That you will find here:

Sadly this is only available in German so chances are you'll need to OCR and translate to read it. Fortunately Larrin Thomas has hit the high points, as this text is the basis for most of his research.
Wow, I've disassembled my Miker CT like... too many times lol. Have you tried doing that?
VG10 will rust too lol. Stainless steel is called stainless steel because stainresistant steel doesn't exactly roll off the tongue and that's not a word
Vinegar will help you with this wipe wipe it away it's all good
Also, maybe try browsing with a VPN. Surfshark and Mullvad are good and you might be able to see more shit we 'Muricans can. Could be out of stock but not a bad idea anyways
chinahighendedc used to be the only store I'd say was legit, but there might be a new douchebag running sales now, scamming folks. I'm sure someone else here will recommend another seller, but I do know that Aliexpress has better customer service, options and pricing generally.
That's the locking version. Here is a link to a US site.

I went through a few different sets - all pretty much crap. My advice if you are looking for a quality/precision set of drivers/bits is to hit up Amazon and just get this iFixit Manta Driver Kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BMM74FD
It is very high quality and I've been really happy with mine. I'm finally done looking for a quality set of precision screwdriver/bits. Mind you this is more for tinkering/tech/electronics applications though. If you want larger/heavier duty bits and larger screwdrivers, just hit up your local Home Depot or Lowes - especially over holidays when they have big sales. Most of the stuff on Aliexpress is crap and really crappy steel. The good stuff (name brands) with good steel/quality will cost pretty much the same as what you can get locally.
I've had 2 41's and a 71. I like the blade of the 41 better, but the 71 had a better handle and action. I've been eyeballing the 91 these days. And the sitivein st 102 https://www.amazon.com/Sitivien-Folding-Outdoor-Camping-Survival/dp/B08TWGTH93
I can vouch for these. Super inexpensive. Plus, unlike a lot of the ones similar to the one you posted, these offer a full four finger grip. And the size is just as compact when folded.

Maybe a small fixed blade like the Sanrenmu 4101? 12C27 steel is decently corrosion resistant if you're gonna be poking around for mushrooms with it, and it's easy to sharpen. AliExpress has it for $16 at the moment.
If you'd rather have a folder, there's the classic 7010 which is cheaper still.
Edit: Actually I just checked and the Mora Eldris in yellow is just under $20 at the moment on Amazon. I'd get that.
That is a copy of a qrtrmstr kwaiken kinda. I got mine off amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076Q985SX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_l133DbT9A2FMF) great action and quality but i think is in drastic need of a regrind. The blade stock is super thick so it doesnt slice that well.
How about a spyderco siren for $168? I know that’s a bit much. Maybe used in r/knife_swap?
I got mine on amazon, I think it was the fecedy 2 pack they were really cheap and it’s lasted me about 5 months of daily use and it doesn’t look like it’ll wear out soon

I just picked up the Harnds Wind from Amazon (link) and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like it. It has a 14C28N blade that is 3" long, overall length 7", weight is just 2.2oz/65g. It has ceramic bearings and detent ball, recessed steel liners, and deep carry clip. The action is very snappy, and while the blade is too light for "drop shut" action it is still very fidget-able. It's like a little brother to the Harnds Assassin which might be a bit large/long for some. Fit and finish is near perfect which seems to be par for the course with Harnds these days. I think it's a great deal at $30. It just dropped on Aliexpress, search "harnds" and it'll come up.
Have you looked at Ontario and Ka-Bar?

Ruike P801 is one.
It is not at all uncommon expensive, high-quality stones to come from the factory with a finish that needs to be dressed before the stone can be used. Likewise, there are plenty of expensive stones that are very soft.
The key thing here is that you need to know how to use them, and the people most likely to purchase these stones are not going to know how to use them properly.
Here is an example of a stone that hits both of these issues:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G2ZN9QS/
The coarse ("1000") side of this stone comes with a very strong glazed finish that makes the stone practically useless until it is dressed. However, once dressed it is a perfectly decent stone, albeit at about 500 JIS grit.
The fine ("3000") side is extremely soft. This allows it to cut rapidly and produce a fine finish IF you know how to use a soft stone properly. Part of this involves regular flattening. That's just a nature of the game with soft stones. It is also more like a 1500 JIS grit stone.
Now, the reality here is that this is a perfect grit combination for most budget knives and the vast majority of kitchen knives. I picked this stone up for $12 and that's a great deal for someone who knows how to dress and flatten stones, as well as having a preference for softer stones. If I had a cabin or a boat or an RV this would be a perfect stone to just leave there. I also would have no qualms about giving it to someone as a first stone, but only because I would be able to teach them how to use it correctly. However, for a newbie who knows nothing about stones or sharpening it would indeed be a terrible choice.
Both are excellent knives and quite different to my surprise.
The Scimitar is a Persian style with a thinner blade, open construction (standoffs) and great ergos.
The Kendo is Japanese style with a thicker tanto style blade and a G10 backspacer.
Both have deep carry pocket clips, ceramic bearings and 2 tone D2 blades.
Great value for ~$40, as these really feel like budget WE knives.
