And by the end of the season, who do you root for?

It just reminds me of the character development from Game of Thrones. In the First Episode Jaime Lanister is caught banging his sister and throwing kids out of towers, but a couple seasons in, you are rooting for him.

It's not a bad idea, I've been saying before that I'd like to see a spin-off set in Okinawa focusing on Chozen running his dojo. But I don't really see the need for the "prequel" part it could just be set in the present, like Cobra Kai. I wouldn't try to put Mike Barnes on this show though. If anything, if Sean Kanan has time in between running his soap opera Studio City, give him his own spin-off in America, depending on how they revive his character.

Fun story, my sensei for the few months that I did karate was trained by the guy who trained Pat Morita, Shihan Fumio Demura. Also fun story, Demura and his sensei had a falling out over karate and how much was being paid and was supposed to be paid. A lot less exciting then Cobra Kai unless you like financial stories and then it's fascinating. Still good karate.

It's absolutely more permanent as long as you do it correctly. Just print it on the iron-on sheet, iron it onto your t-shirt and you're golden!
