Ya i saw someone said they got blocked from Dac for no reason they knew. Other then at one point they said something to them on facebook when they bashed another company that sells dp. I mean its very childish for dac to have done that, plus other people were saying if their reviews were negative they were removed from the site. Yes they have a lot of good reviews but it seems they treat people who have problems like they dont matter

It is only a cheap one of Amazon but wanted to make sure I enjoy the hobby before sinking too much cash into it lol.
I have a 60-count diamond painting kit that I got from Amazon....it was almost $30 but it has everything you need! The little bottles for your drills are super sturdy and are housed in a foam thing that holds them place. Plus a large tray, tweezers, and labels. I absolutely love it.
Re #4: This is the one I use - have been using it almost a year now. I've seen others here and on the Facebook group recommend it as well. But really there isn't much difference between them, just choose one with good reviews (I think there's at least one out there that has a cable problem, so lots of bad reviews)

(I haven't the slightest clue how you would make one - but if you have those skills, go for it.)
I got it from amazon, sold by adarl. There are quite a few more designs in the link but i think the rest are partial drill, though they still look like they'd be worth doing. I wish i could find more with rhinestones, they catch the light so much more, but this is the only seller I've seen that makes them.

I hate having the canvas dangling from the desk hitting my legs with smaller sizes, so I didn’t know how I was gonna deal with this larger one. I imagined something that could hold the canvas under the desk, but then I saw a monitor riser on Amazon and I knew that’s what I wanted!
This little kit on Amazon was worth every penny. The little brush works to flip the drills over and the ridges in the tray holds them in place. The drills line up well usually, but if they don’t I use the brush to gently move them.

I got a brush with a kit of some other accessories. The brush absolutely stole the show, a couple of sweeps and the majority of drills are right side up! This was the kit I got it in, but it looks similar to a mod podge applicator. Could also try a makeup brush!
I ordered it on Amazon. There was a pack of 4 different colors, and I have two, and I gave my sister two.

Read the reviews carefully. And the paintings are really small.
This one is very good quality. The canvas is soft and the drills are good. The legend and symbols are black and white, to keep the mystery. Both are also crystal clear.
Definitely a lot of iffy drills and I’m having issues with them popping- but I like the image enough to deal with it lol.
I found a video on youtube and they suggested this (I can't find the video, but I found the product because I bought it on Amazon back in 2018!):

And it totally worked!
Good luck 👌😁
Yeah, I feel the same! I got the square one also from Amazon. It's not perfect (the glue isn't the stickiest so drills will occasionally pop off even if you place the squares down perfectly), but I thought it was very good value in comparison to the round drills. Here's the link!
Got mine from Amazon. It's $16. I've never had a problem with the USB connector. I only do small sections at a time, so I don't need anything bigger. I usually keep the cable going up towards the top, so in "portrait" orientation. I connect the USB to my laptop for power, which I keep next to me to play podcasts while I work.
Yup I got it from amazon. Doesn't look like it's available anymore though. Hopefully they update it. I'd love to get a few more for gifts since it turned out so well.

i enjoy splurging a little and buying a glass frame ! then you dont need to seal it with anything since itll be safe behind the glass.
i usually use ones like this, and i can find them pretty easily at target/hobby lobby
Get some pill organizers like THIS or at Walmart. You could spend tons of money on the ones meant just for DP, but I find the pill organizers are bigger, and actually secure more reliably. I just write in permanent marker over the lid to number them.
Also get a multi applicator tool. I didn’t realize these existed until my 3rd one and its a game changer. I have a 1, 3, 6 and 9 diamond tool. Got it here

I got it off amazon. This item on Amazon let's you choose any size container. But when I originally ordered this organizer it had all 4 sizes although I did see 1 with only small containers. I knew I wanted the different sizes so I just kept looking around.

I used magnetic sheets, which are super easy to trim with scissors Here is a link to an example on Amazon
Yep. I've bought 2 from there.
I like this one for my 30x40cm pictures. Comes in a few different colors & seems to hold up well.
I have the ArtDot A2 portfolio as well for my larger pictures (I couldnt find the link). This one holds 40x50cm pics, but the brand also has an A1 size for 62.5x85cm pics. The only thing I dont like is that the pages are awfully flimsy & I ripped one right after I got it.
Thanks! Nope, not custom! The white one is from Amazon (it's the biggest size, square drills), and the blue one was a 55x55 square drilled one from a site called Barefoot Bohemians. They were both under $30.

I seal with mod podge once I'm finished to avoid dust collecting on it.
I have never liked the trays that come with diamond painting with the exception of DACs kits so I will add links to the ones I like that I got off Amazon.
You can try asking the Amazon seller about replacements, but if they do agree to send them you could end up waiting a really long time.
It might be better to purchase replacements. Some hobby stores, like Joann's (US) carry a number of Diamond Dotz freestyle rounds. Just make sure to check the Diamond Dotz conversion chart (they use their own codes, not DMC codes) beforehand.
If you're using square drills you will need to find a place online that sells them. You can order a bulk pack from Amazon (like this ARTDOT one) or specific colors from a place like DiamondDrillsUSA.
There are also facebook groups where people destash leftover colors.
I think you might be allowed to ask here, too...? Mods?
What I didn’t like about the regular wax was that I felt I had to refill the pen constantly. So I started looking for alternatives.
I’ve tried Blu Tack, Nano tape and some sort of ear wax 😄 but nothing compares to glue dots! At least for me.
I can go WEEKS without having to refill the pen using glue dots. The trick is not to fill the pen too much. Juuust the right amount of glue dot. Too much and the drills get hard to place correctly, too little and they won’t stick to the pen. It takes a little practice but when you get the hang of it this stuff lasts forever. It’s honestly amazing.
Blu Tack is pretty good too. For me it lasts at least ten times longer than the regular wax, but then it starts to break down, gets stringy and leaves residue on the drills.
You can buy a spray at crafting stores. I have used gloss modge podge ultra I got from Joann Fabrics on a test project. I sprayed I think 3 layers and after a day when I knew it was fully dried I twisted and rolled it and not a single gem fell out. That being said, I’ve had 6 projects in a kit framed for about 6 months and they have held up perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/Mod-Podge-Ultra-Gloss-CS44653/dp/B07MCVYXC1/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=93HXXRTTV0XK&keywords=modge+podge+super+gloss+spray&qid=1668740459&sprefix=gloss+midge+po%2Caps%2C288&sr=8-3
Hi there and thanks for the kind words!
I bought a couple of huge bulldog clips that I mounted on the inside of a closet door frame to hang my canvas on when not working. 😊
I normally only uncover as much of the canvas as I know I will have the time complete. A full paper square worth of canvas takes me almost three hours to complete and I usually work in 1-2 hour chunks, so I would simply move the next paper square about one or two thirds of its width to the right, and start working on that part of the canvas, one color at a time until done. This way I never have to store the canvas with uncompleted sections.
Of course sometimes something will happen that forces me to quit working before I’m fully done and in that case I’ve found it quite hard to cover the working area with the same paper squares because there’s not been enough sticky area left to properly hold the paper.
Temporarily storing the canvas with a small part uncovered usually isn’t a problem. The glue doesn’t seem to dry up very fast. Just make sure you don’t store the canvas in a dusty environment as dust, animal hair and the like WILL attach to the sticky canvas over time and make it less sticky.
I’m not sure that I fully understand your question about drills popping off, but storing the canvas rolled up drills facing up/out is the correct way as opposed to having the drills facing inwards, according to most people. When a drill has been placed on the canvas it won’t fall off again no matter if you keep the canvas covered in parchment paper or not.
I hope this helps, otherwise please reach out again. ☺️
I’ve used this DecoArt Topcoat on many diamond painting keychains and bookmarks. I find it works well with a little water and doesn’t dull the shine.
I have a paint guide similar to this
I use a container case like this to store my drills when I’m working on a DP.
I personally use something like this lightpad with stand
You can probably pick up something similar at any craft store.
I also saw one meant for kids at Walmart, but it would work as well.
i think it's a game changer. I'd strongly suggest one that you can charge and use without a cord just for convenience.
This is the one i got (it was my second because i felt the first one was too small):
This is the only one I could find and it didn’t look the same until I took a close look and it’s the same picture
I always save and organize mine! I love these containers from Amazon and they come with labels to organize color numbers, and I keep my square and round drills separate: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P5YDBZR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've bought 3 so far, each holding 64 different colors.
When I get a new DP, I will see which colors need a refill and will refill with my new drills if needed. If it is a new color, I will create a new label for that color on an empty container and stock.
I think this might be somewhat influenced by the quality of the canvas and type of adhesive (poured glue vs double-sided tape) but I've mistakenly left canvases of all types uncovered for up to two days and not had them lose any stickiness.
If your canvas does lose its stickiness, Dotz Stick can fix that.
2nd one from amazon and color me impressed. While I wish some details like the clock was easier to see it was a great diamond painting and the colors were so fun to do! Also forgot to take a couple of progress photos.

Diamond art club has the best kits hands down. (The code chicandclean will save you $10)
Large trays and metal drill tips. Blue tac instead of wax.
Blue tac.
I use a bed tray that angles up from Amazon. It has drawers for storage and I use my light tray and overhead clip on light.
I have only one completed painting lol. I have over 30 DAC kits started and rotate through but the one I finished I just worked straight through. I sprayed it with adhesive and mounted it on a paint canvas and hung it.
I got my favorite custom pens from AxeandIron on Etsy. I like heavier pens and he was able to add weights to the inside for me and it’s GORGEOUS.
I don’t like the no wax pens, personally.
I store leftover drills in ziplocks organized by code in a box. Even colors from the same company will be slightly different due to dye lots so I don’t combine them.
I use the tray I mentioned, light pad, clip on overhead light, custom pens, trays, wax paper to replace the single plastic cover, dryer sheets to get rid of static drills, and a wooden drawer organizer from Amazon. I sit my trays on it so I can have nine or so colors out at once. Also lots of storage! My favorite are the harbor freight storage boxes.
You can use Aileen’s Tack It Over and Over or even double-sided tape, depending on how big of an area you need to cover.
Thank you very much! And I like them too for the smaller ones! It’s a three pack from Amazon they are plexi vs glass. And yes it’s a 40x30 :) this is a link to the exact frame pack I got Sindcom 12x16 Picture Frame 3... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DHNM7BM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Not sure if these are inexpensive enough but I love mine.
I get a regular poster frame from Amazon or Walmart. 12x16 isn’t an unusual size.
I don’t believe it’s Lisa Frank trademark. However, as soon as I came across it on Amazon I knew, knockoff or not, I HAD to have it. Here is an link for image reference only as I did not purchase from this seller. Mine is also 12in. X 16in. and round drill. I will say that some of the drills that came with mine were just not the LisaFrank vibe I was looking for. So, I substituted DD brand drills in brighter shades and also a few of the AB sparkle drills to really knock it home. https://www.amazon.com/Dylans-Painting-Embroidery-Decor%EF%BC%88cate-12x16inch/dp/B07TD4JVRH
This is something similar to what I have. They're small little contsiners that lock so the tiny diamonds don't spill all over. I just switch colors and dump them back into the correct container when I'm done!
I've never tried a pallet but if you can pull them out separately then it should work! Just be careful they don't spill if you accidentally bump it!
Something to keep in mind about rulers is that they may not work with every canvas. I have a ruler that’s aligned perfectly with all the canvases I’ve done… except for one. How well the ruler works depends on the spacing of the painting itself.
This is the one I ordered. Since they’re very thin metal, they’re a bit delicate so you have to treat them with care. But they work well on paintings with the correct spacing. Hope this helps. :)

My girl can only close one of her eyes (partial facial paralysis) and this pattern reminded me of her. I’m possibly in over my head, but I’m going to attempt to customize the ears to match hers. I feel really good about it (:
Haha! That's what I wanted something durable. What do you think of this one?
It might work, but I'm not sure since I haven't tried it. I use Aleene's tacky glue because it's just what I've always had on hand for crafting, but I think any glue that dries clear would work. Especially if you plan to seal it afterwards.
Tacky glue:
https://www.amazon.com/Aleenes-Purpose-Tacky-Glue-8-Ounce/dp/B00178KLEY
Current square method: whatever is easiest, usually just a pen.
3/4 of the way through my first square DAC I decided life is too short and I've too large a stash to stress over perfect placement. They all twinkle and look beautiful when you back up two or three feet. I'll use a straight edge for the outer edge, but that's it.
If you want a good laugh, scroll down this Amazon listing and see their example of no tools "messy" placement.

Drafting table: its the same one I have just not the same company they were sold out.
They’re the Elizabeth Ward bead organizer. You might be able to find them cheaper at craft stores with a coupon.
It's pretty expensive for what it is. I would be interested to hear if diamond painters who own one are satisfied with their purchase.
A thin surface like a credit card or a small ruler can work as a straightening tool along with the checkerboard method.
I also bought a light board kit recently and it came with a straightening tool that's been good so far. It looks like this (but I didn't purchase this particular tool).
Here is a set of tips from Amazon that have one in this set. I have this set and it’s nice.
This is the worst shop that has sold stainless steel ones. Looks like they are taking a short break and their shop is closed right now.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/770440029/everlastingtips-pen-tip
I only work at home and yes I have an A3 light pad right now will be getting a bigger one as I just started a 70cmX90cm painting and i hate moving it around. As for my table I use this Drafting Table
really if you are just starting the kit that comes with every painting is what you need. If you want extra I would suggest a light pad that makes it EZ to see the symbols. I have this kit it comes with extras and 60 bottles to keep your diamonds. there are other things like better pen cover minders and other things but unless you know 100% you are going to do this long term don't put too much money in trying a 30x30 painting to see if you like this first.
I am thinking about getting this A1 Lightpad I hate having to move it around and my new diamond painting is going to be 70X90 so I want a bigger one
