He man, thanks a lot for the post. I actually read the story that Rogan tweeted about Jonathan Brookins and his experience with Vipassana meditation. It really spoke to me. Then, the next day, I saw your post and looked into Kornfield. He talked about the same meditation practice. I had to look into it a little more. I found the sub /r/buddhism and one of the most recommended books was Mindfulness in Plain English If anyone is interested in these Vipassana meditation practices and is looking for a good guide, I believe this is it. It seems like quite the journey but this is exactly what i needed in my life at this point. It even refers to some of the theories behind quantum mechanics (i.e. the double slit experiment) that science is just now discovering
Are you talking about the Zizek (he pronounced it wrong) movie on Netflix? The Pervert's Guide To Ideology. It's fucking brilliant, definitely check it out. I don't remember him mentioning a book though. I'm listening again so I'll update this if I hear it. edit: he mentioned "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" too, Chris said "oh by Suzuki, yeah I've read it" so that could be the one you meant.
