Is this a good place to plug my podcast where we talk about Adam Sandler movies?
Edit: Fuck it, I'll do it anyway.
Edit two: Holy shit, people aren't actually downvoting me this time! You guys have no idea how hard it is to talk about an Adam Sandler podcast on Reddit. It's seriously damn near impossible. Please let me know if you like it.
EDIT MARK 3: Someone asked for a non itunes link so here's our Stitcher!
Also, I don't want to look like a dick but I should capitalize on this opportunity by also posting the link to our YouTube page where I post my Rick and Morty Podcast!
Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. FoundMyFitness is trending #10 on iTunes for Fitness & Nutrition! I'd love to see that happen on Stitcher too if you guys use those mediums... make sure to check it out!
If you guys have any questions about anything we talked about on the show leave message and I'll try to get back to you guys in the morning.
Posted this earlier and got downvoted (fully expect the same) . Look at the context.

>I know you guys are in full "Hate Roman circle jerk", but come on. He's telling the truth, WWE is going to do what they want no matter how the IWC or anyone else feels. We already know this. But, he's saying at least he's providing for his family. He wasn't saying "haha I'm getting the one getting rich, so fuck you".
>Pretty sure every wrestler feels this way.
Sleepwalker did it for $1000.
And Pmag's $300 Challenge is a great resource for getting started with cheap gear.
Took me a while to find it, but here's a good interview with Animal who thru'd in 2012 on $1500. He had a much more analytical approach to frugal hiking then Sleepwalker did.
If you listen to the entire interview I think this is one of the moments he gets most enthused. You've done good The_Real_Irish. _Real good.

It's one example among several, though. And there's counter examples like Kansas, where Brownback dropped taxes and the economy fell into the toilet.
The more data points we collect, the more we find that Republican tax philosophy is not supported by the evidence.

For me the underdog moment (giving all necessary respects to farts and pro, knifegrab, two thumbs and not much else, and iBrain) is the would you rather from the 2013 NYC live show with Chris Gethard, PFT, and Paul Scheer.
The episode was part of the CBB tour, but you can listen to the episodes on stitcher for free if you're cheap.
I wonder whether the pictographs on the cabin wall (where Patti is imprisoned) were intended to make us think of a cave. It could be a reference to Plato's Allegory of the Cave. They could be reinforcing that there is a higher order of reality that we and the main characters can't see. Kevin Senior and Dean may be the first escapees now trying to rescue the others. If so, we might also understand that Patti and the GR are just as unenlightened as the others, as she is clearly a prisoner in the cabin scene.
Fake ninja edit: While writing this comment, I searched for others suggesting this connection and found a podcast. About 3/4 of the way through, he points out parallels he sees in Episode 7 to Plato's Cave.
Actually, they both have podcasts. Sage LaTorra's is Another Question, in which he and cohost Adam "No, the Other Adam" Blinkinsop answer a listener question where the answer is one roleplaying game or another.
What if I told you there was a popular podcast devoted to two New Zealanders watching that very same movie completely every week? That they recorded 52 episodes devoted to the experience of watching Grown Ups 2 entirely?
Indeed it is. I heard about this when he was on Jake Fogelnest's podcast. The interview is pretty good. I'm really glad he's still doing stuff and didn't disappear in the 90's (also glad his stuff is still funny).
I'm currently listening to The Worst Idea of All Time. This is the most ridiculous fucking podcast I've ever heard. These guys are watching Grown Ups 2 every week and reviewing it and losing their minds.
100% highly recommend.
Snover, the powershell inventor, comes from a Unix background. He initially tried to basically just bring bash over, but since windows is more object than text based, it didnt really work. They had to start fresh, and some "weird" ommisions were made. With ssh, it was the sales culture at the time. Balmer didnt want interoperability between linux and Windows, because thats one less server license and CAL set you can sell, once less step to lockin. With Azure printing money hosting linux and containers, and a new engineering CEO, lots of long dead stupid will be flipped around, and its going to come fast. Snover himself joked about it saying "We invest 10billion/year into R&D. When Microsoft wants to actually do something, we do it very quickly."
This. It gets mentioned in one of the Sensible Chuckle podcasts that they're both huge Steely Dan fans, hence the names Walter and Donald.
Here's a list of the top 100 podcasts. From what I can tell, the liberal shows do much better in podcasts, but still don't surpass the conservative ones.
If anyone is interested, I recently had the opportunity to speak with Nicholas Blackston, one of the recipients of this treatment. You can hear our interview here

NSFW: Generous cursing with the occasional dirty line
Today we recap everything that we experienced during SXSW including meeting podcast pioneers Adam Carolla and seeing Jimmy Kimmel Live from Austin, TX. We induct people into the "People That Are Going to Hell". Also names we don't like being called and the most depressing meals we've eaten.
I think the issue is actually bad or poor leadership in Africa. It doesnt matter if the money comes from the west or the east, if our leaders make bad deals, are corrupt or incompetent then the result is the same.
I did find the Intelligence Squared debate around it to be interesting. It challenged my automatic negative reaction to eastern investment and realise that the problem is actually of our own making. We are able to do better but dont.
No, that's not how it works.
The cut of the shirt is not protected, not for OP's friend and not for Target. It's not original enough. I mean, think about it. There are only so many ways you can make a T-shirt. It would be ridiculous (try impossible) if they were all copy righted. The only time you really get into trouble with such basic cuts is if you sell something claiming to be made by a designer, which was not done here. Even if you copy (an imageless) designer shirt, it's usually fine as long as you admit who really made it.
This is a huge problem in the fashion industry, but I digress.
The image, though, is original. If OP's friend can prove she created it, and sold it in her etsy shop before Target got a hold of them, she wins.
It has nothing to do with clothing, really, just the use of her original and copy righted image. The court recognizes clothing as "useful", not art.

Stitcher changed the way they track and report metrics. Libsyn metrics do reflect Stitcher downloads. You can see the official response from Stitcher HERE.
edit: I checked my Libsyn stats and now see Stitcher download numbers greater than 1 for my episodes. I also reached out to Libsyn on Twitter to confirm. I'll let you know as soon as I get a response, but I'm about 99% sure that Stitcher downloads are now included.
Response from Libsyn: Stitcher stats are included.
I think your best bet is to just follow a VR blog, like roadtovr.com. Subscribe to their RSS, Email, Twitter, or Facebook feeds depending on your preference. I'm not big into podcasts, but there's also the Rev VR podcast.
If you really want to pay someone, I doubt they'd turn down a supporting donation.
I had never heard of Stitcher, and had assumed you were talking about a podcasting player app. After looking at their FAQ, looks like it's not the same thing.
The Stitcher FAQ says someone needs to supply the RSS feed address to Stitcher, and they'll include it in their system:
> How do I get my show on Stitcher?
> Stitcher is programmed using RSS feeds. You provide us the link to your RSS feed; we load it into the system, program it and process it on an ongoing basis for fast and seamless play over mobile and in-car networks.
> It’s easy! Visit our sign up form to submit your show.
You are not alone. I am currently in your position, except I remedied the issue by enrolling in that Coursera class posted a day or two ago.
As for podcasts, I know there were a few delivered via an Android app I just had installed a few months ago, let me go find the name and I'll be right back.
EDIT: Stitcher. It had a few philosophy casts on it last I used it. They appear to be there still, though I didn't see an explicit Browse category for Philosophy, so just use the search bar. I found that Partially Examined Life is on there, though I haven't listened to that so I can't speak to the depth or richness of its content.
But there are some options there!
I'm largely self-taught, but I've been at the audio-engineering thing for fifteen years or so. Been working in production sound for a couple years now (it was all music production and sound design before that)
So while some of our film-related skillsets might be on par, I could probably offer some advice on the whole "being a professional sound person" kind of thing. If you're up for it, check out this thing I did from last year. If you don't hate the sound of my voice, I'd be happy to meet for lunch or something sometime (I'm in LA as well). You could pick my brain on the whole 'working with sound for a living' thing, and I could get some insight into what a Film School teaches it's sound guys.
If you're up for it, PM me and I'll toss you my phone number.
I've always had long commutes and learned this lesson quickly. I killed the ASOIAF, Dark Tower, and am now on Wheel of Time.

Yep...Alton Brown tells a story about him trying to figure out why his Grandmother's biscuits were so much better than his.
After discounting everything else, it came down to kneading the dough. His Grandmother's arthritis kept her from making a closed fist/squeezing the dough too much. So keep that in mind, mix the ingredients like you have arthritis!

My Podcast: Make Dad Read Comics is an attempt share my love comics with my 65 year old father who has never read comics in his life. In fact over a year ago he regarded them as “literature for the illiterate”. In that time Dad has stopped at least calling characters “creatures” and we discuss different aspects of comic concepts as I try to explain tropes, methods, and genre. It is really just a nice excuse to talk crazy nonsense with my Dad each week.
Not cynical in anyway just me trying to explain Preacher, Batman, Akira, Spider-Man and so forth with my Dad

But figuring out just how the sting is supposed to go down may be harder than it seems...

It's the grand finale of Steve and Andrea's two-episode look into finance, and the SkyMall's the limit this week because we're talking about spending, splurging, and makin' it rain (which is way more awkward than it looks on TV). Get your credit score up to at least 5 as Steve schools us on how credit works, and then treat yourself for all that learning by coming with us to Doughnut Monday and Medieval Times! Leave your kid at home though, because Steve's not buying him a hot fudge sundae.

Thanks Charles! And no, I don't mind. :)
And yes, I do plan on getting a ton of interviews at SVVRCon that intend on releasing on a daily basis afterwards for at least 3-5 weeks.
I've also enjoyed listening to Reverend Kyle's Rev VR and EnterVR podcasts. I think Reverend Kyle has done an amazing job at tracking the community, hottest demos and breaking news over the past year. And Cris Miranda brings in a lot of diverse voices in a lot of really, in-depth and comprehensive discussions.
My initial interests do tend to be in the non-gaming aspects of education, filmmaking, storytelling, and science data visualization. But I'm also curious to talk more with VR game developers to figure out what does and doesn't work in VR, and I'm curious to see how the issue of user interfaces and VR input controls will evolve.
I see it as a brand new communications medium, and I'm really curious to see how the game development community innovates on VR experiences and help to figure out this wild west platform. But I also intend on bringing in more voices from the "Old VR" world of IEEE VR, 3DUI, SIGGRAPH, academia, and immersive education to hear more what they've learned about VR over the years.
I think that the breakthrough VR experience that really defines this medium can come from anywhere, and it'll most likely come from a game developer. Either way, I'm excited to see where it all goes and look forward to having a lot more conversations with folks from all different types of backgrounds.
The Everyday Destruction Show - Episode 48 - This One's Bitter...

We celebrate Valentine's Day a little early today and talk about our V-Day plans. I give my playlist for single guys and talk about my biggest V-day regret. But You're Wrong - Episode 235: Keith Goes Catfishing
The answer episode to #224 "All Three Tunnels." Keith pretends to be a lady looking for love on Craiglist, but wants romantic inquires only. How many responses did he get? Were they romantic? How many pictures of junk did he see? Did the men of Craigslist redeem themselves? All answers are within. Also, Keith's dental history. (01:33:19)

Almost Educational - EP 34: Empire Advocate
Two educators attempt to educate one another on a subject using a thought experiment or random thesis as the premise. Patrick challenges Dennis to defend his view that Empires throughout history are a positive economic, and technological force for mankind. Patrick gets all hippie socialist while Dennis makes Caesar proud. Pax Mongolia, Die Hard, Economics, World Systems, and Wayne State all appear.
I recommend listening to the Nutrition Diva. She has a graduate degree in Nutrition and doesn't fall for the hysteria, she uses a science based approach in her nutrition advice and has a website, a podcast and youtube videos to help you understand nutrition as it relates to you.
http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-nutrition-divas-quick-and-dirty-tips-for-eating-well-and
If you doubt her credibility (which I did because I'm skeptical of most nutrition information) see what she has to say about "chemicals" "food additives" "processed food" and the like.
Here is one for example: Why I'm Not Afraid of Yoga Mat Chemicals in My Bread

Our show, Liar City, is Clearwater-based. I thought it'd be nice to give a general overview of the Project Normandy stuff and the Gabe Cazares stuff, since 'Going Clear' is likely to just gloss over those two things.

A local based podcast would be an awesome idea. I'd certainly listen.
Mine's only 20 minutes in rush hour on city streets, but I've done something similar to your commute before.
My main tip is to get into podcasts or audiobooks. There are apps for your phone where you subscribe to podcasts and it downloads them to your phone while you're on wifi. I can recommend This American Life, Radiolab, pretty much anything by NPR (I like Planet Money), Serial, Freakonomics, Intelligence Squared Debates, 99% Invisible, or you can just look at this list. There's a podcast for everybody.
I use PocketCasts on Android and I've heard Overcast is good on iPhone. Overcast has premade lists based on certain categories that you can subscribe to which is helpful when you're starting out.
Other than that you can subscribe to Audible to get a new audiobook every month. I'm just now getting into that so I don't have any good recommendations.
I find that listening to people talk works a lot better than listening to music for those long driving trips.
And if iTunes feeds aren't your thing, I believe you can just go to: http://svgimmersion.com/ (forgive the not yet styled default page) and just listen off there.
Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=62576&refid=stpr http://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=62576&refid=stpr
Cant give enough praise to Party of Four. Probably one of the funniest podcasts I've ever listened to. Sadly, there are only 12 episodes. But season two's coming soon! ...hopefully.
I can understand that. If you want to share equipment and hosting it makes a lot of sense for you guys to be within the same geographical locale. I'm thinking more conceptually, I suppose, like my podcast Local Look is working a mock NPR vein and so I'm trying to partner up with other people who are working in that same sort of vein. Does that make sense?
For me it was during that Orton feud in the summer that really exposed Reigns as no where near ready. Who knew that when he was fed those lines about knocking the vipers teeth out and making him a worm were merely just the tip of the iceberg.
Aside from his mic work Reigns is not good in the ring either. I liken him to Barrett from a few years ago. Reigns is this really big dude whose known as a bruiser but doesn't do many power moves, kicks and punches fill out his offense, and he get lost in rest hold city all the time. It doesn't make for a compelling match nor does it make for a compelling wrestler.
Also please go listen to this interview he did with Sam Roberts of O&A 2 days before the Rumble. Dude comes off as a complete bag of dicks. Total cocky cock. Sounds completely like the entitled 4th generation star you would think he is.
Sam Roberts interview: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/sam-roberts-wrestling-podcast/e/36776291?autoplay=true

"Fans have to realize that as opinionated as they are and the way you want it, the company is the same way and they are gonna do what they wanna do... hopefully at the end of the day, I'm the one getting rich."

Dopple Avenue Hurt
Case 1: The Silver Casket - Part 6: Grace Kelly
^Explicit ^language.
As our boy James Keyes interviews the rest of the O'Reily family, it seems the case is becoming a bit clearer, or is it? It's hard to interpret all of the information Terrence's family is giving him due to the fact that they would all be better suited living in a methodone clinic rather than an extravogent mansion. Between drunks, country girls, aspiring young actresses, and a daughter who adopts her dialogue straight from a literal interpretation of a film manuscript, Keyes will have to decipher how to proceed with the case, if at all.

We're back with Season 2! Today we're talking about the start of a new year and give our BOLD predictions for 2014 by predicting headlines. Plus we give our personal origin stories, the first caller of the year, and the BEST of the Guy with 2 Penises' AMA.
If it is not working yet, just wait and refresh.

listen to The Worst Idea of All Time
it's these two new zealand guys who watch grown ups 2 and review it once a week for an entire year. it's the only podcast I actively follow
Hope this is alright to post. I didn't see anything against it in the subs rules so please let me know if not.
I've been lurking here for a while and debating whether to post this or not. Reddit has a huge stigma against Sandler movies and it's totally deserved most of the time but I think my show is worth listening to. We talk about the movies on a case-by-case basis and don't verge into the Adam Sandler circlejerk of saying that all of his movies suck or by praising them blindly.
Anyway, I've worked really hard on this and there's 15+ episodes to listen to so check it out if it sounds interesting to you.
If you can, I'd love comments about the show. Let me know if you like it or not and what you think works or could be improved. I still have about 25 movies to go so there's plenty of time for me to make the show better as I go.
Here's a Stitcher link for people that don't have Itunes.

And brandis one (he invites other housewives quite frequently)
I would love to pass you the link but that woman makes it close to impossible to hear her podcast on any other platform than iTunes.
I wish she would fix that crap
Almost Educational - EP 33: Fictional Atlas
Two educators attempt to educate one another on a subject using a thought experiment or random thesis as the premise. Patrick and Dennis construct an atlas using their favorite fictional cities, nations, and places from the realms of prose, film, animation, comic books, and television. Disney, Akira, Ron Swanson, The Black Panther, and Soviet Sci Fi included.
I'll start the ball rolling by suggesting The Ricky Gervais Show and The Worst idea of All Time for comedy. Education/Science I like to listen to The Infinite Monkey Cage.
Game of Thrones "High Sparrow"

SPOILERS CONTAINED! Each week join Jessica and Dean from LSG Media as they cover HBO's hit television series, "A Game of Thrones." When asked why people should listen, here is what LSG Media had to say: Because you want some discussion with a pulse. Because you’re tired of monotone nit-pick reviewers who pompously dump all over your favorite shows and movies. Because you want the pants entertained right off of you. Because you want to laugh out loud at our terrible imitations. Because you want some blue comedy mixed with intelligent analysis, and peppered with philosophy.
Almost Educational - EP 32: James Bond Head Canon
EP 32: James Bond Head Canon
John Watson’s Man Parts
Two educators attempt to educate one another on a subject using a thought experiment or random thesis as the premise. Patrick wants to know if the concepts of canon, reboots, retcons, and continuity surrounding intellectual property can be explained through the lens of James Bond. Dennis and Patrick throw Spider-Man, Sherlock Holmes, and St. Elsewhere into the mix as well.
We have a podcast that seeks to recreate 1940s radio drama. We call it Dopple Avenue Hurt ( which you can listen to on iTunes, Libsyn or Stitcher)
It follows detective James Keyes as he attempts to solve the murder of a billionaire. We also recently released a 3 episode spinoff following his secretary's search for her missing cat. Hope you enjoy it!

Almost Educational - EP 31 Did Robocop Predict the Future?
Two educators attempt to educate one another on a subject using a thought experiment or random thesis as the premise. Patrick wants to know if The 1987 Film Robocop predicts the future. Do scientist need to use science fiction to spread the message of good science? Is science fiction best as metaphor for social topics? The boys discuss hard science fiction, Detroit History, The Expanse, Fahrenheit 451, drones, and generification.
It was a pleasure interviewing on your show. You offer an amazing resource to people of all walks running or thinking about starting a business.
For those of you who have yet to hear it, here's the link to my interview with Eric on Dirt Cheap Startup Podcast.
PS: Would love for that vote on Product Hunt
I am not saying you venerated any slate makers. It just appears you have a big problem with these slate makers specifically.
I probably listened to the same interview.
I heard them acknowledge the historical importance of the Hugos. They stated that they respect that vast majority (paraphrasing) of worldcon members, and hugo voters. They do not appreciate what they view as cliches slating their nominations. Is there a bit of salt, yup. No more than as the result of this years nominations. In order to fight slates there are only two options. Make a slate yourself, or vote "no reward".
I prefer Thinking Sideways and Criminal (basically the TAL of True Crime). I just find S&S a bit melodramatic.
I highly recommend checking out the explanation of Bernardo Kastrup. First you can check this podcast episode where he explains how "all is in consciousness" and how does that relate to psychedelic experience : http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/psychedelic-salon/e/434kastrup-the-metaphysics-of-the-psychedelic-experience-36857117. If it resonates with you, go check his book "Why materialism is Baloney" where he covers the topic to a great extent.
BPS Podcast Episode 48b: Tugboats
NSFW
Part 2 of 2
The 2nd half of the interview with Darrin's bro, Jason. We learn that the Townsend boys keep their nuggets high and tight, while Tim falls victim to the effects of gravity. Jason and Tim share the same special undies technique. Chopper spreads the bidet Gospel, and we introduce the legend of Chowhai Man.
Almost Educational - EP 30: Generational Thinking
Zealots Techie Millennials
Two educators attempt to educate one another on a subject using a thought experiment or random thesis as the premise. This week the boys use Strauss and Howe's generational theory as a framework to create their own 200 years of American generations with new names and new figure heads. American History is broken into generations and nonsense ensues.
Dissecting the 80s #14 Wrestlemania V - Hulk Hogan Vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage
| iTunes | Stitcher | Facebook |
NSFW, but not a swear-fest.
Just discovered this sub! We're a comedy podcast that delves into 80s pop culture, predominantly via movies and TV. Normally we come out on Mondays, but switching it up for Wrestlemania weekend!
This week's episode: Tripp and Andrew jump into WRESTLEMANIA V and part of our podcast's birth to celebrate Wrestlemania weekend!
Can Hulk Hogan beat Macho Man Randy Savage? Is Vince McMahon the worst commentator of all time? Just how much flexing is too much flexing? Is Macho Man the better wrestler, despite the results? All this and more!
Hey hey!
Still working on the website side of things (we're currently just on a libsyn site), but we run the show with just a Blue Yeti mic, Virtual Audio Cable if we need to skype, and Audacity! I find the simplest set up is the best unless you have money to drop on a mixer and individual mics.
We used to run the show with 2 Blue Snowballs through an old laptop in a basement surrounded by super hard walls, but we eventually moved to an upstairs office space. It has a couch, which is lumpy but comfier than folding chairs, and lots of soft stuff to soak up excess sound.
We use Libsyn for the main publishing, but we feed out to iTunes and Stitcher.
The best thing you can do, however, is to stick to your schedule as closely as possible. Our main show and topic show have never missed a week and hopefully it never will!
