Look up the El Paso Hiking Group on meetup.com and explore the Franklin Mountains. You will be here in a good time of the year, the Celebration of Our Mountains is going on in September and October.
Some options are Uber driving, filling out surveys through Amazon Mechanical Turk (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome) or telemarketing from home (http://pizzahutishomejobs.com/)
There's always yard work, like pulling weeds and mowing lawns. You could try printing flyers and going door to door.
There is B-36 that crashed in the mountains and you can see when hiking. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/texas/b-36-crash-hike
C and J for mexican food is great. I really like Anson 11 for dinner.
Take a drive to scenic route at night.
Alamo drafthouse is a great movie watching experience if you have never been to one.
This is outside of el paso but just as far (or close) to white sands. Carlsbad caverns is great to see.
I personally think it is better to be at white sands in the morning before it gets too hot.
The guys from 8bitfix used to do one. I don't think they've posted anything in a while but back episodes are still there.

A local based podcast would be an awesome idea. I'd certainly listen.
I admin a page dedicated to punk/ska/metal shows in el paso, so if you want to meet new people or have a good time you can take a look at it.

Also, as someone else already said, it's a really laid back town, everyone is friendly here and the crime rate is really low. It could be the most boring town or a really great place to grow up in depending on how you see it. Just try to make the most of it and it'll grow on you
MLG Winter Championship weekend of March 23rd through 25th
IPL4 and GSTL is weekend of April 6th through 8th
I have gold membership for MLG Winter Championship which gives HD and no ads.
For IPL4 I will probably be going out to Vegas :)
I went to one at GC as well. Very easy laid back, didn't even take notes. Right before the exam, the instructor gave all of us a "review" that was really just a word for word copy of the test. Immediately after giving us the answers for it, we took the test. It was with Sunny Day Defensive Driving for around 30 bucks.
Huge error in this article. (probably Obama's fault) The 2 million aren't coming to see the Pope. They're coming to see the Pepe.

Whenever a subreddit does that, it's just CSS (code that specifies how a web page should preferably appear, without actually changing the content or the HTML structure). So the downvote buttons are still there in the HTML, but they're just hidden from view by default because of the subreddit theme.
There are therefore several ways make the downvote buttons visible. You can:
Totally! I didn't want this thread to be an advertisement so i didn't post a link. Here's a video I made about Austin before I left: https://vimeo.com/87436329
As you can see, what I do isn't incredibly professional. I just like to have fun and have projects to work on in my spare time.
There's a bunch but my favorites are at the top of Transmountain (Ron Coleman Trail ), McKelligon Canyon, or Tin Mines trail.
Be safe and bring more water than what you're thinking.
I have frequently hiked alone in the Franklin Mountains and would say it's a safe as hiking alone anywhere else. I've never seen a coyote, although I have seen a rattlesnake. Cellular coverage is good, so you'll be fine with a phone. I recommend the Schaeffer shuffle https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/texas/schaeffer-shuffle-trail
No problem. :)
Yes, there is. El Paso isn't really a very entertain town on the surface, but when you look it has its fair share of intriguing things that even native El Pasoans seem to know about. For example the art scene seems nonexistent, but if you know where to look there's quite a bit.
You'll definitely get use to it. Feel free to complain about it, I know I do and I've lived here all my life. Haha. Yeah, our humidity stays pretty low most of the year, but you'll becoming in August which is in the middle of the rainy season, so it will be quite high compare to what it normally would be. Another heads up is that the weather is really bazaar down here and it could change even few hours. You could be dressed appropriately in the morning and three hours later, it might be a completely different story.
Unfortunately, yes it is. It doesn't help that citizens can't carry weapons so they're sitting ducks over there. I personally am not allowed to go over. If you decide to go, go with someone who is very familiar with the surroundings, preferably someone who goes rather frequently who can tell if something is up. Again, please don't go, it's seriously not worth it. If you can take a four hour trip to Albuquerque or go to Arizona if you'd like to see different surroundings.
One last little thing for you to check out is this travel guide as it might be of use to you.
Well I look forward to talking more with you, friend. Welcome to El Paso! :)
Try using Waze https://www.waze.com - it usually suggests the best route to take based on real-time traffic data from other drivers. There's also the TXDOT traffic cameras http://its.txdot.gov/ITS_WEB/FrontEnd/default.html?r=ELP&p=El%20Paso&t=cctv - it helps to check them before you head out in case you need to take an alternate route to avoid traffic.
Good pod, man. Great content, and I’ll stay subbed as long as you’re making local content. Looking forward to setting the screws to El Paso Electric, glad to have your voice added to the chorus. Um, your audio kind of blows chunks. This is a really good, cheap mic. Also, https://www.audacityteam.org Audacity is a good recording/editing program that’s free, and its fairly easy to remove hiss, and hums, lots of info on how to do that on YouTube. Enough with my bitching and griping, excellent work, can’t wait to hear more, and excellent job on what you’ve done already.
