The economist David Mc Williams had a recent podcast episode discussing Spotify as a business model and impact on the industry. Worth a listen if anyone has any interest.
He was a really interesting figure! He became more and more political the older he got and was an active, dedicated member of the Communist Party. Since all Communisty Parties at that time were more or less answering to Moscow, the USSR wanted to prop him up as a major global communist, since he was the most famous and influential artist in the world. At the same time, Cubism was very diametrically opposed to Socialist Realism, which was the official art style of the Communist Party. This created a lot of drama, but never a full blown rift - there was much more to gain by having him in the party than by maintaining a pure line on art.
Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. FoundMyFitness is trending #10 on iTunes for Fitness & Nutrition! I'd love to see that happen on Stitcher too if you guys use those mediums... make sure to check it out!
If you guys have any questions about anything we talked about on the show leave message and I'll try to get back to you guys in the morning.
Fun fact! The Stanford Prison experiment is not what mass media made it out to be. The people in charge exaggerated and encouraged everything that happened. The podcast You're Wrong About goes into all the biases and misinformation about this case here
The New York Times' The Daily also had a great podcast that put the Sackler family's transgressions into context. Worth a listen, if you're okay with being very angry.
Posted this earlier and got downvoted (fully expect the same) . Look at the context.
> Let me start of by saying, this isn't sympathy for Reigns or anything. Seriously guys, listen to the whole quote. It's starts at around: 9:26.

>I know you guys are in full "Hate Roman circle jerk", but come on. He's telling the truth, WWE is going to do what they want no matter how the IWC or anyone else feels. We already know this. But, he's saying at least he's providing for his family. He wasn't saying "haha I'm getting the one getting rich, so fuck you".
>Pretty sure every wrestler feels this way.
Aside from the anxiety, can I just say how much I love Gregor? Was glad to hear him in this episode; he's hilarious.
Post-listen edit: I disagree with a lot (all?) of the posters here. Joey seems incredibly encouraged at the end. Social anxiety sucks, but it is something we have to practice and get better at overcoming. He felt his roommates hated him for being weird and now realizes it's not some character flaw he's doomed to live with; it's an easily fixable issue.
There is a great podcast episode about social anxiety (I will search and link later) about the fact that younger people aren't forced to socially interact as much as they used to be (since we can do so much via technology) that they don't get the practice that they need to succeed in these interactions, and that fear of failure is what gives them that anxiety. The doctor doesn't even suggest that people combat the anxiety and then deal with the situations, but that they learn as they go, which is what I feel was done here.
Look at Julia! Acting like she's an autonomous human being rather than a proper conformity-molded incubator!
These women and their sense of entitlement to their own personhood. Don't they know they're just appliances for men?🚼🛏️
(A good overview of the women as home-appliance thing is found in the You're Wrong About podcast book-club-thing episode where Sarah Marshal studies The Stepford Wives, here. Marshall notes that the premise is not very fictional, only using robots as a substitute for drugging the snot out of women to keep them obedient and compliant.)
Going to plug one of my favorite podcasts You're Wrong About and their most recent episode about this whole saga. Really interesting history and fits into a bigger series they are doing on who complains about cancel culture/political correctness vs. who actually gets cancelled.
Defrauded - the Duggar podcast - just did a deep dive on Paul and Morgan.
The toxicology reports also stated he had fatal levels of carbon monoxide. There was another Parisian that died that night from smoke inhalation after passing out drunk in a residence that caught fire. The results were switched, whether intentionally or in error, I can't say. There were a lot of shenanigans that night, including American witnesses on holiday who were repeatedly ignored. sauce.
If anyone wants to understand this whole area a bit more, and also understand what SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) are, I’d recommend The Dark Money Files podcast (specifically this episode) but the whole catalog is pretty great to give you a layman’s understanding of the financial world of money laundering.
And you want to now what’s extra fucked up, it’s not just being shared here and now, it was in freaking TIME magazine the year she died. It won photography prizes, it was everywhere! The Box of Oddities podcast has a good episode on this story.
I'm just going to leave this shameless piece of self promotion right here.
Edit: if you like our silliness, we do also make jokes while actually playing RPGs. (hobcast.com)
Not really! I was quite surprised to learn from a recent episode of the Code Switch podcast, that abortion is a smoke screen issue for racism. While 75% of evangelicals say abortion is an important issue to them, only about 30% of them say that they will not even consider a candidate who is pro-choice. The podcast takes you through the whole history of Evangelical racism, and it becomes quite obvious that race is a bigger driving factor than abortion and further, that they intentionally use abortion as a shield because they know racism is not in step with modern society. It's super fucked. In fact, this episode was so revelatory, I think I will go listen to it again myself.
Code Switch - The White Elephant In the Room Here's a link: https://castbox.fm/vb/328720748
Or if anyone is on Android, I really recommend PocketCasts.
The free version is a great podcast app with lots of features (remove silence, variable speed playback, 30s skip, etc.). I listen on my desktop at work and being able to resume podcasts seamlessly from platform to platform works great for like $10/yr.
YTA
She confided in you. Telling your brother is a way to express to your SIL that you’re not trustworthy and don’t value your relationship.
Moreover, there’s nothing morally wrong with being a prostitute. The podcast Criminal recently did an episode interviewing prostitutes if you want a better understanding of why educated women, who are mentally sane and capable of many things, CHOOSE to go into prostitution.
Well, you are in luck, because there are a whole lot of kinky black people and kink organizations for black people.
Onyx is probably the most well known national organization for kinky Black men.
Onyx Pearls is their sister group for Black women.
The Carter Johnson Leather Library was founded and run by People of Color.
There is even an entire BDSM conference devoted to kinky POC. The Journey! conference, they plan to host again in 2021 but they are still working on the logistics due to COVID.
There are groups and clubs that are POC exclusive, that provide a safe space for you. Because you live in a big city it's very likely that you will have one near you. My advice would be to see if you have an Onyx or Onyx pearls chapter near you. You might also want to reach out to the Leather Houses of Color Coalition. They will probably know who you can contact in your city to find the resources you need.
You are not alone, there are many black people in the BDSM community. People who have had to deal with the same issues and discrimination you have faced. You have a lot of role models and history that you can be proud to be a part of.
As a side note, if you have the time. I would recommend listening to Daddy Zulu's BLACK to Leather podcast. He interviews some of the best known Black and POC members of our community. Especially the episodes where he interviews Mama Vi and Mister Blue and BlueFrost.
I currently use Pocketcasts, it is multi-platform but that now costs $10USD a year (I am grandfathered in from before they went to a sub model). It works well and does the job. People have a few gripes (e.g no folders for organizing, they want you to use filters. but it does the job). /r/pocketcasts
There is another multi-platform app which I may swap to (I have an account and it's loaded with a load of my subs but I've not made the full jump across yet) Podurama. They are still showing this on their main page "Early users get lifetime free data sync on unlimited mobile and desktop devices" so I presume it is still applicable. /r/Podurama
There are lots of others out there, but those are the two I have used with any sort of regularity.
It was by Richard Simpson. He discusses it for a while in this podcast:

Lets remain hopeful and patient about the Russian Orthodox.... remember how they passed through the trauma of Communism - The Soviet Union was the first state to have elimination of religion as an ideological objective but ultimately it failed, so the Russian Orthodox have their own heroes and martyrs https://www.buzzsprout.com/1226960/7409515-jan-20-communist-russia-christianity.mp3?download=true
The transcript for the podcast she was on is up now, here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/768062/5316610
Posted as one long unedited paragraph. It mostly reads like this:
>right before we started talking, I was cleaning out the pantry and rearranging things and trying to make it clean. And one of our dear little friends we have a little quarantine bubble with our dear friends and their kids. Their three year old daughter had built some magnetized train and was bank It against my leg saying this is the fork train. And it only goes faster for farts on people, you know, go. So I'm putting rice into jars and throwing away old potatoes.
I couldn't make it through. ~~There was one story about Shauna missing a phone call and having a "breakdown:"~~
~~>this afternoon. I just and I had a call scheduled I had it on my calendar. I had rearranged my entire day for this call. 20 minutes later, I looked down at my phone and she said something about a link and I'm like, What link? Because I missed the call because I was trying to explain what Wikipedia was to my five year old trying to keep them from looking at butts on YouTube and trying to make done. Yep, absolutely. And I realized that I missed the call and I lost it. I like threw everything down on my desk, and I I burst into tears. And I stormed out of the house. I sat on the deck and cry for like an hour here. Yeah. Because I'm like I saw At the mom thing, because I'm not paying attention to them. I'm just trying to keep them from finding, you know, inappropriate bites on the internet while I'm trying to do my work, and then I can't even do that.~~
~~Shauna, this is not a relatable problem. If you want to stop your kids from "looking at butts on YouTube," install SafeSearch, use ScreenTime, ask your ISP and/or install parental controls.~~
Editing because I misread the transcript!
It's important to remember that large parts of the USSR were absolutely ravaged by the Second World War, and the economy was in shambles, a consequence of the war which the United States avoided. This certainly contributed to food shortages, which were likely compounded by the USSR's relative isolation on the global stage compared to NATO, which entered the Cold War with the economic backing of the United States. If you were, in fact, referring to the Ukrainian Famine of 1932-33, it is extremely likely that it was caused by poor crop yields, a slow recognition of the potential for famine, and landowner "scorched earth" retaliations to collectivization. I usually recommend listening to this on that subject.
You should listen to the Partners episode they were on:
(Link for Google, or just search on your given podcast app)
I cannot reccomend this podcast episode enough for how well it breaks down the historical inaccuracies that lie in these nationalist movements while also providing context for how they came about.
There is a literal podcast about Chomsky's view on JP.
yeah it's a good book, it got me into Alexandra Kollantai. her podcast 'A.K. 47 - Selections from the Works of Alexandra Kollontai ' is good too. best of luck with the rest of grad school

If I recall right, Ethans biggest problem was that it took him out for a few months. Weight lifting was, and is, extremely important to him and he hated the down time. Also, a lot of pain, the scars kinda defeated the vanity purpose of doing it, and he tore his stitches (twice?) making both other points worse.
Ok a related subject: There’s a really fantastic podcast by the noted aggressive dog behaviorist Mike Shikashio and legendary shelter dog behavior expert Sue Sternberg that you should listen to. Basically, she talks about how the “no-kill” concept has been overly successful and nowadays it’s the normal, social dogs have become increasingly rare - all the best, friendliest and most-affectionate dogs are being sterilized while the most aggressive ones are allowed to breed freely, causing shelters to fill up with fighting stock bully breeds that should never be in homes with families or inexperienced owners.
She argues that there needs to be a way to produce more sociable puppies to meet the ever-growing demand. While she says that there are responsible breeders out there who are selecting for good temperament and health, they simply aren’t producing enough, so there needs to be a new, more humane method to make enough puppies that will grow to be friendly family dogs, as the good breeders are being out-competed by the terrible backyard breeders by far.
There’s also a fascinating talk at the beginning of the podcast by Shikashio and Sternberg about the behavior of street dogs in Mexico, and how surprisingly non-aggressive, friendly and content they were - often more so than the dogs that are encountered in the US.
Look, I am pro-gun, but the higher availability of firearms in a market, the more gun deaths and suicides you will see. I'm currently listening to a podcast about Tipper Gore and her crusade against music, and one of the things they talk about is the rise in teen suicide and murder during that time. Gore and her ilk blamed it on music making kids do drugs, specifically pointing at the crack epidemic and linking it towards murder and suicide; but there is solid studies now showing that it was really a flood of cheap guns in the market. (Canada had the same crack problems but without the correlation of additional violence.) At the beginning of the decade, a handgun was $400. At the end, you could buy one for $95 which caused a glut of cheap guns and a rise in murder and suicide due to them. Link which includes the additional info on gun supply.
For those who understand German: I just listened to last week’s episode of the German podcast „Amerika übersetzt“. At the end they talked about Pete (starting at about 25:35).

The music sample in the video, "Acoustic Picking 18" is also the intro and outro for Mike Duncan's most excellent "The History of Rome Podcast". See if you like it. He certainly got better as he got more experience(and better recording equipment)

I Googled "GESARA law" and came up with this...
>National Economic Security and Recovery Act (NESARA) was a set of
proposed economic reforms suggested during the 1990s by Harvey Francis
Barnard. Barnard claimed that the proposals, which included replacing
the income tax with a national sales tax, abolishing compound interest
on secured loans, and returning to a bimetallic currency, would result
in 0% inflation and a more stable economy. The proposals were never
introduced before Congress.
NESARA has since become better known as the subject of a cult-like
conspiracy theory promoted by Shaini Candace Goodwin, doing business as
"Dove of Oneness", who claimed that the act was actually passed with
additional provisions as the National Economic Security and Reformation
Act, and then suppressed by the George W. Bush administration and the
Supreme Court. Goodwin's conspiracy emails have been translated into
several languages and have a large following online.[1]

I just listened to a podcast about this. Australia made it mandatory to vote. The podcast is called "Today, explained" and the episode is 186, Why is Voting Optional?

Speaking of conspiracy theories, this guy says Queen Elizabeth was involved in Kurt Cobain's death.
I wouldn't be too surprised if we end up seeing the 5yr UST at 5% 5 years from now. There's a 1.2 to 1.9 trillion stimulus package on the way, banks balance sheets are better than ever and can quickly invest, household savings are near an all-time high, there are a lot of expectations for consumers to spend a lot in the latter half of 2021 into 2022 as a result of the pandemic ending.

Episode Eighteen of my show, Nowhere, On Air is out now!
Radio broadcasts from a strange little town in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The show is a story so please start with episode one!
This episode: Jess hasn’t been sleeping well thanks to the return of the lights and sounds from... the building. A colour wavelength miscommunication, a look at the community bulletin, plus the return of an absent community member and the somewhat concerning circumstances surrounding it.
CW: This episode contains slight references to kidnapping and injury.
Nowhere, On Air is created, voiced and produced by Jess Syratt.

That’s funny, I’ve just listened to one of the few interviews Daft Punk gave to a French Radio (Nova) in 2013. They talk about their collaboration with Kanye on Yeezus, their just released Random Access Memories album, Romanthony and many more things. Guy Manuel doesn’t talk much. Thomas is leading the whole thing. As usual I guess…
Obviously, the interview is in French.
Here’s the podcast :

Great movie. The focus on the changes Marx brought to the socialist movement illustrate his actual historical significance. Lots of people think he just invented the idea of communism. This movie illustrates the changes he makes and how his personality tied into that. He and Engels were born shit talkers. Talked about it on a recent episode of my podcast. https://www.buzzsprout.com/89426/734422-e19-the-young-karl-marx
Far too much of the Q Anon stuff being replicated here now as well, calling ON patriots and the like to stand up. The language is all the same too. The local group I joined last year was opposed to masks on kids. It's now been a while since I have engaged on their channel as its being dominated by those who want to share links and videos that always start with
"Boom!! Revealed. Let's make this go viral"
It's awful to see.
I recommend this podcast. An excellent analysis of what works and what doesn't. Focus should be on investing in actions which actually win, rather than spreading a message, trying to win the air waves.
Dr. Popper on the Higherside
Researching a podcast about the miracle of Fatima -when 50,000 saw the Sun dancing as was prophecied by the visionaries - I was fascinated to find out that Pope Pius experienced a similar miracle of the sun later
Pius XII approved the "Fatima apparitions" 23 years later in 1940.
Ten years after this, he declared the dogma of the Assumption of Mary.
In handwritten notes that were only discovered in 2008 he wrote that at 4:00 pm on 30 October 1950, during a walk in the Vatican gardens, he arrived at the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and began to see the miracle. He described himself in his handwritten notes as "awestruck." He saw the same miracle on 31 October, again on 1 November (the date of the definition of the dogma) and then again on 8 November. He wrote that on other days at about the same time he tried to see if he could observe the Miracle of the Sun, but was unable to. He confided this information to a number of cardinals & to Sr. Pascalina Lehnert (the nun in charge of the papal apartments)
His handwritten notes were later placed on display at the Vatican.
More fruits of my research can be found on the podcast which is 14 mins long
I think he talks about electric cars in this. Even if he doesn't, it's worth the listen, he gives a timeline of when to expect to pass 1.5 C and 2 C, the reactions by the hosts is memorable.
No one's going to mention us, but my Dad and I do a podcast called "The IndyCar Fan Podcast"
What are you trying to learn? Basically what we do is after each race we dig into the lap charts and sector times and stuff and go over each phase of the race, when drivers make their stops and why, and basically work our way towards how the finishing order ends up the way it is. We cover almost every single drivers performance. To my knowledge no other podcast really does this - they're more focused on paddock rumors and twitter buzz and stuff like that.
Essentially we recap the race from a both a race-strategist perspective and fan perspective.
We put up our Detroit weekend recap last night actually! You can listen here: https://open.spotify.com/show/3ZDm1rRefwLYsAzIhLLIPR

Or anywhere with podcasts really.
I feel this! It's been an uphill battle with my parents for over a year. It's taken them way too long every step of the way to understand and recognize the severity of this thing. Early on they were forwarding me posts on facebook that (cleverly) manipulated the data to downplay the severity of the virus. Repeated rounds of calling out the misinformation and trying to point them to legit sources of information caused a bit of a rift in our family for a while, because they thought my sisters and I were making accusations and shaming them. It got bad for a bit but we're coming out of it, and they are vaccinated now and behaving much more responsibly.
So much of the struggle stemmed from Facebook. My boomer parents are the generation that are targeted the most viciously by misinformation campaigns, because they are the most susceptible to it. They grew up getting their information from news media that was leaps and bounds more honest than it is today, and now they struggle to recognize how easy it is for someone to post harmful and manipulative content that seems legit.
You're Wrong About did a great episode that dives into this a bit. Highly recommend giving it a listen: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1112270/7585768-the-anti-vaccine-movement
I remember seeing this video several years ago before my religious deconstruction. I distinctly remember my initial reaction, nodding my head in support of each sentence, perhaps even an "Amen" or two in affirmation. I distinctly remember the feeling of my heart drop when he said his speech and arguments were taken from pro-segregation preachers in the 1950s and 1960s.
This video, among other things, is what sparked my religious deconstruction. I could no longer just let the cognitive dissonance fade away. My beliefs HAD to be the thing to change.
I still consider myself a Christian today. I still believe Jesus Christ lived and died for us. But I try to live in a way that truly exemplifies what Jesus is: loving, compassionate, tolerant.
I am ashamed of how much pain and hate many Christians have spread in America today. How much destruction their conservative ideology has done to the reputation of the name "Christian".
I am proud to say that I have come a long way and I fully support LGTBQ+, BLM and try to fight against the horrific pro-Trump pseudo-religion fanaticism that has taken over American Christianity.
If you listen to podcasts and you are interested in learning about religious deconstruction, I highly recommend the You Have Permission Podcast hosted by Dan Koch.
Spawn Wave Media is the over all name (Thus the SWM)
Its a name I came up with when Jon was just starting it up in the wake of our place of work going down hill.
The idea was to make a central network for a bunch of stuff (Newswave, Spawncast, Techwave, Rumorwave) and if we managed to find people to pull in and push the amount and quality of content forward with other shows (Animewave, Moviewave, and anything else that would come up)
PROBLEM! YouTube stops letting you guys know about our uploads after a certain amount a day. Still sorting out how to combat this on our end, but ya, as Jon said in the MVG podcast over here > https://www.buzzsprout.com/235522/1361854-the-real-mvp-spawn-wave
the goal is to make a network like old school G4.
WISH US LUCK!

There were a variety of less "offensive" terms and they originally (ostensibly) told the public they planned on keeping them detained "only" a month.
Also, the accepted term for Japanese internment camps is currently "concentration camps" among historians and museums on the matter, though the public preference is yet to catch up. This is based on the technical definition.

This is the second time I’m linking this podcast in as many days, but you should definitely check it out. It’s by a famed dog trainer who works with aggressive dogs interviewing an expert on shelter dogs (who is pro-behavioral euthanasia). Basically, the first segment of the podcast is about a trip they took to Mexico, where they noticed that the street dogs were far less aggressive than the dogs they encountered in the US. It may be because street dogs interact with so many other dogs and animals on the daily that their aggression is tempered by frequent contact - if you’re a dog that’s stuck inside all day and only see other dogs and cats as well as unfamiliar humans once or twice a month then you’re probably going to freak out and attack when you do meet one; whereas if you see other animals and strangers all day, every day then it’s just another day to you. Also, the most aggressive street dogs are probably taken out of the gene pool by through natural selection - if you’re a dog whose first instinct is to attack then you probably aren’t going to live as long as a sociable one. Also, the more sociable street dogs are more likely to get fed, which also probably encourages less aggressive behavior.
It's one example among several, though. And there's counter examples like Kansas, where Brownback dropped taxes and the economy fell into the toilet.
The more data points we collect, the more we find that Republican tax philosophy is not supported by the evidence.

And the Miasma was thought to carry disease, so just smelling it could make you sick.
There was a recent podcast on Stuff You Should Know called "The Great Stink: The Stench So Bad they Gave It A Name," about the pollution of the the Thames in London, which got so bad that it was unbearable. They went on the create a sewer system that is still the foundation of the London waste management system to this day. It was a great story:
Sure.
Our "narrative" is our conscious experience.
So yeah, our "now" is a few hundred ms behind the physical actions of the universe. We can and do react at speeds way faster than that. But ourself. Our thought. Our experience of what happens, lags by about half a second.
Here's a link to the full and proper explanation, it's "the infinite monkey cage" podcast episode "what is reality". it starts at 24:10. This link should take you to the correct start point.

Brian Cox is asking the question and David Eagleman gives the answer.
They cover the baseball phenomenon you state in your post directly. So should hopefully answer your questions way better than I can.
The Tldr is that sound and light get to us at different speeds from a source. our senses process at different speeds, and everything, everything at all takes time to happen.
The synapses take measureable time to fire. Chemicals take time to react. Our brain seamlessly combines it all and accounts for delays and lag.
So we end up with a smooth narrative. A complete picture all at once.

He'll keep donating throughout his lifetime starting now. I would strongly suggest listening to this podcast on how he's planning to donate to various projects he believes in.
For Number 19 we broke out the chalkboard and answered some questions on how to keep the greenhorns alive for another drop. We talk about winning and losing initiative, focusing fire vs dividing and conquering, maneuvering for the rear arc shots, breaking out of a conga line, and psychological warfare. You can listen here
The wellness to qanon pipeline! Maintenance Phase does a great snapshot of people who are really into wellness trends and how they can be swayed into more conspiracy theory stuff

(I was legit concerned when Parv was talking to Ethan on WAW EoE about only having positive thoughts about his cancer, not letting negativity allow it to come back, do some yoga about it, etc lol)
The You're Wrong About podcast did a fascinating episode on the Satanic Panic of the 70s. They cover a lot of other similar subjects and moral panics along with some episodes discussing American serial killers.
Oh yes. A good exposition on the subject is the episode of You're Wrong About on The Stepford Wives, (here) which Sarah Marshall observes is not really fictional (rather than replacing wives with robots we'd put them on drugs, but still would treat them as household appliances.)
Hey! There is an awesome podcast episode about modern cryogenic stasis research here!
https://castbox.fm/vb/287375744
I'm sure you could find it on other platforms, but that's what I use so the link was easiest. I hope you enjoy it! It's full of good information, and that whole show, and the podcast she hosts that spawned it, Flash Forward, are both fantastic!
Hey you should check out this podcast episode about him. I always thought of him as some awesome president and person but this podcast brought alot to light I didn't know about.
Also a great podcast in general. Awesome for how different people have shaped history and what events and influence caused them to become the adult / ruler they were.
For me the underdog moment (giving all necessary respects to farts and pro, knifegrab, two thumbs and not much else, and iBrain) is the would you rather from the 2013 NYC live show with Chris Gethard, PFT, and Paul Scheer.
The episode was part of the CBB tour, but you can listen to the episodes on stitcher for free if you're cheap.
I wonder whether the pictographs on the cabin wall (where Patti is imprisoned) were intended to make us think of a cave. It could be a reference to Plato's Allegory of the Cave. They could be reinforcing that there is a higher order of reality that we and the main characters can't see. Kevin Senior and Dean may be the first escapees now trying to rescue the others. If so, we might also understand that Patti and the GR are just as unenlightened as the others, as she is clearly a prisoner in the cabin scene.
Fake ninja edit: While writing this comment, I searched for others suggesting this connection and found a podcast. About 3/4 of the way through, he points out parallels he sees in Episode 7 to Plato's Cave.
You sound like someone who might enjoy a trip into the wonderful world of <strong>Flavortown</strong>, a Guy Fieri-inspired RPG podcast my group played recently (served on a fresh ciabatta bun).
I don't think our argument about whether hotdogs are sandwiches made the final edit (they aren't), but one of the PCs played a Human Sandwich Artist, so you'd better believe there was a lot of sandwich talk!
I just listened to a podcast about Allbirds shoe company and the owner said the average American goes through 8 pairs of shoes a year. That's every man woman and child. I forgot the total number but it was in the billions. All of them go to a landfill.
Adam Carolla given [1] he essentially endorsed Yang on his popular OG podcast (https://castbox.fm/episode/ACS-(Part-2)%3A-Todd-Garner-id6927-id153136689 around 10:40 mark) and [2] he's best friends with Jimmy Kimmel.
I listened to a pod save the world on an American journalist who was captured and held for ransom by the Taliban, and what he said is that drones are extremely effective at what they are meant for. Something like 2-3 drone strikes hit his captors while they were out of the caves the hostages were held in.
The drones were extremely effective at completely obliterating a high-value target in a controlled manner. He also said that the civilian casualty numbers are probably somewhere in between the United States releases and definitely below the Taliban or whatever other organizations are parroting what innocent people we killed.
One of the best key points he made though, is that these drones, while effective, will never completely move an international policy. Basically, you can't drone your way out of a terrorist problem anywhere other than maybe getting lucky taking out a few top people. Those people could be replaced relatively soon. Your intelligence has to be fantastic and targeted, not just "military age potentially armed male." An anti-terrorism policy takes a much bigger mix of hearts and minds, working with the local governments, and potentially boots on the ground etc and other measures of success.
For the example in the podcast, droning terrorists hiding on the Pakistani border or crossing to Afghanistan won't do shit to actually move the needle long term until we can pressure Pakistan to help kick them out or get serious about defunding them.
David Rhode, most of the second half of the cast and really interesting about how the terrorists viewed drones as a cowardly weapon. https://castbox.fm/vb/78045186
Check out this podcast episode with a forensic audio analyst. He goes into quite a bit of detail about things he looks for in a recording.
really terrible article. They never mention Gene Sharp or that these efforts were CIA funded, astroturf campaigns, and barely acknowledges that these "color 'revolutions'" mostly served as counter-revolutions against communism. Individualistic demonstrations that helped open these countries up to capital. Also, I understand it, it simply means 3.5% actively protesting and so on, can overthrow their government. I cannot imagine this would be nearly sufficient to maintain a mass movement or actual revolutionary vigor, as so many of those countries have not done well over time, due to the failures of their movements.
please do not read this article as a substantive analysis of building a new governing principle or body, that 3.5% number is only useful in determining a critical mass to overthrow the existing system.
First of all, it's fortunate that Daoism never taught going with the flow, because that would be disastrous for an addict!
There's actually a Daoist podcast on addiction. It's specifically about alcohol addiction, but it applies to other kinds. It's called "The Tao of Our Understanding." I recommend you try that.
I recommend The Placebo Magick Podcast to anyone who hasn't checked it out yet. It's awesome and he talks about specifically moving our minds in and out of "magical thinking" headspace in order to sneak logical mindfulness and intention setting through our inherently superstitious minds.
Actually, they both have podcasts. Sage LaTorra's is Another Question, in which he and cohost Adam "No, the Other Adam" Blinkinsop answer a listener question where the answer is one roleplaying game or another.
What if I told you there was a popular podcast devoted to two New Zealanders watching that very same movie completely every week? That they recorded 52 episodes devoted to the experience of watching Grown Ups 2 entirely?
Congratulations on some great numbers. It's great that so many people are enjoying your work.
An announcement like this is a good opportunity to let people know what your show is about. You never know how many more listeners you might get.
>Aethuran dark saga is a dark fantasy audio fiction, a show with a unique blend of Audio book and audio drama. Each episode is from the perspective of its protagonists, and sometimes the evil they must contend with. The intertwining story leads each of them down a dark road, a journey in which they will cross paths with one another as well as those who would seek to destroy them.

The maintenance phase episode on Oprah and John of God was also really good, and talked about how just having guests on a show isn't a neutral thing, even if you don't support all their claims, which is super relevant to this thread.
(The TL;DL is if you invite some asshole on your show and you're Oprah or Rogan big, even if you do your best to challenge their claims, 1% of your audience falling for their bullshit despite that could be a huge boost for their business, so the mere act of deciding to report on someone is not unbiased in its effects. Let alone deciding to report on someone "neutrally" when the truth isn't neutral.)
Even before trying to "fix" a recording in Audacity (or any other tool) it is worth the effort to make sure your recording space sounds good.
.
Find (or create) a recording space that is quiet and free of echos.
Also, spend some time researching microphone technique and placement.
Without doing that first, even the most expensive microphone can make crap recordings.
Water use is regulated by water districts, which are public entities that manage water rights. How they choose to regulate is subject to federal and state laws. Private water rights are also available but those are fewer than in recent times.
Are you asking if it is metered? Secondary water is mostly not currently metered in Utah, though this could vary district by district. Culinary water is metered.
If you are interested, I'd urge you to listen to and seek additional resources from this Speak Your Piece podcast episode.
He was on the Joe Rogan Experience and talks about how misinformed he was and fed misinformation. The episode is wild. They talk about ufos, flat earth, social media, nazis running NASA, clockwork elves, and more. Also, its 5hrs long and he is crazy.
