Gotta say, I really do hope the Quakes churn out a kit like this. It would definitely be a unique kit in the whole world of soccer there is no kit like this that I know of.
Great show tonight fellas. I know I mentioned it but consider hooking up your rss feed to stitcher for easy podcast listening on mobile. Here's the instructions.
"MLS, for their part, will be relieved for the small mercy this didn’t happen in a league game, which would have compelled them to invoke their own internal disciplinary mechanisms. US Soccer could yet impose a sanction that affects league play, but the league itself will prefer the lesser evil of inheriting rather than adjudicating any such decision. "
I use ExpressVPN, but I think some others like Nord are good too.
I initially got it for China travel in the before times but it’s also great for avoiding blackout markets, catching out of market games, and streaming out of geography content on Netflix/YouTube/news sites.
I use PureVPN to get around the blackouts. There are a plethora of similar providers to choose from as well. Yes, it pisses me off that I pay an extra $50 a year on top of whatever NHL/MLS/MLB packages cost, but in the end it's still cheaper than getting Cable/Satellite TV just for the sports channels.
Funny thing is, I'd probably be willing to pay 50-100% more for each of those streaming packages if they allowed direct play w/o having to resort to silly VPN loopholes.
Not almost done; groundbreaking is on 10/21 before the final home match (vs. the Scum... uh, that's LA). The groundbreaking is participatory--you can sign up to grab a shovel and help out. They're trying to set a Guiness world record for largest groundbreaking, with four thousand something people digging for two minutes. You can get more info and sign up (if you want) here.
The new stadium is expected to be ready for the start of the 2014 season, so yes, one more year at our current home, Buck Shaw Stadium, that we share with (read: rent from) Santa Clara University's soccer program.
It'll be very close to the current location.
The San Jose Earthquakes: A Seismic Soccer Legacy is a really great book if you want to get a history of the Earthquakes. It's not a long book and it was written by a fellow Quakes fan as well.
