This has some good information on faerie beliefs in the 19th century, including Changelings. It's more anthropological, but good.
My friends are doing this rad podcast where they research folklore and fables and then spend the episode sharing their research with each other, talking about literary references, and even how some of these fables permeate our modern world. Lots of great info but also just really cool hosts having a good time.
The link is for the iTunes version, but you can see all the other platforms they're available on, as well as listen to the episodes directly, here: https://anchor.fm/stone-houses
I don't have any great recommendations, but I read this in my body art course in grad school: http://www.librarything.com/work/517965/book/104791201
It's star trek-centric, but it probably has a useful works cited.
I also recommend "The Book of Yokai" by Michael Dylan Foster, tough I wasn't able to find a good pdf online.

I have Giants, Monsters & Dragons by Carol Rose. It's a global reference book but includes North America.
Check in our book. My husband and I have written a book called "My Mother's Persian Stories: Folk tales for all ages in English and Farsi", a bilingual book of 30 Persian folk stories written in both English and Farsi. They are stories told by my husband's mother when he grew up in Iran and we thought that these stories would disappear if we didn't write them down. My husband is originally from Shiraz, I am from Canada. Here is the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/My-Mothers-Persian-Stories-English/dp/9657238307

If you're interested in UK folklore then you MUST have a copy of FOLKLORE, MYTHS AND LEGENDS OF BRITAIN Published by Readers Digest in 1973, it remains a bloody fantastic bit of work with some amazing illustrations!
I know Iceland is not in Scandinavia - but if you're interested then there is "Icelandic Folktales & Legends" by Jacqueline Simpson. It's considered to be a good translation :)
