Just to check, do you mean the ads for stuff like D&D Beyond/Manscaped or other ads from Spotify?
Paying for Spotify won't stop you from getting the edited in ads like we do for our direct sponsors like D&D Beyond/Manscaped/NordVPN etc. Those companies directly support us to include the ads in our streams, videos and podcasts. Spotify premium has nothing to do with us really.
If there's other ads coming through, then that sounds like an issue with Spotify and you'd need to contact them.
This question has come up repeatedly over the years. Long story short no there is no podcast and likely never will be, because it was filmed in the early days and there was generally no regard for visual references so sometimes there might be confusion if listening to only audio.
But, that doesn't mean there aren't solutions if you're undaunted by that. There is a free program called Youtube-DL that permits you to download and convert videos from youtube en-masse. This includes downloading an entire playlist and converted it into mp3 with a single command. The catch is that it has a bit of a learning curve depending on your computer. I use a lot of Linux so I'm perfectly happy to use the command line version. There is a GUI version for Windows machines though that's pretty straightforward. The program is open source and very well-maintained, and works on other websites besides youtube ;)
One I remember mark mentioned recently having used was Inkarnate. Its a web app tool that allows you to make large scale world maps.
Though to be honest, depending on your knowledge and skill with graphics software I think you can make maps just as good as Inkarnate maps with about the same amount of effort. I just use Krita, which is basically a free version of Photoshop.
In 5E, you can do it with regenerate:
> You touch a creature and stimulate its natural Healing ability. The target regains 4d8 + 15 Hit Points. For the Duration of the spell, the target regains 1 hit point at the start of each of its turns (10 Hit Points each minute).
> The target's severed body members (fingers, legs, tails, and so on), if any, are restored after 2 minutes. If you have the severed part and hold it to the stump, the spell instantaneously causes the limb to knit to the stump.
A level 13 bard/cleric/druid can cast it without consuming anything pricey, so it should be available somewhere for a fair price, though maybe only in the sky cities. Failing that, Quill should eventually be able to cast it himself.
this :)
Fantasy RPGs are my go-to since I know them so well, so there's those, or the sound tracks to fantasy movies could work.
I pick moments from the game/movie that are of a similar mood to the mood I want to convey to the PCs, then use that track :)
For ambient sounds (like fire, rain etc) I use http://asoftmurmur.com/
I believe this is the kind of thing he uses. I think he mentioned it being the pathfinder mats.
Good to hear it. you might consider springing for some custom heroforge minis for your players characters if/once you and your friends start a campaign that is going to be somewhat long-lasting, though they do cost a bit more.
if you are just starting and don't want to spring a ton of cash for minis, a good alternative is to get some packs of pathfinder pawns. They're basically monsters printed on a piece of cardboard which you can stand upright in a plastic holder. Though they are for pathfinder - that was basically built on the back of 3rd edition, and many of the creatures are the same or similar.
For example, a pack with 300(!) creature pawns will only run you ~30 dollars, which is a lot cheaper then what 300 actual 3d minis would run you : http://www.amazon.com/Pathfinder-Pawns-Monster-Codex-Box/dp/1601257171/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1458153012&sr=8-3&keywords=Pathfinder+Pawns
