Get him one of those door bars, particularly if he’s off campus. Throw it on your bedroom door while you sleep and it’s gonna take some time and make some noise getting in. And you don’t have to worry about roommates not locking up or coming home late.
This is also an option! Had this when I lived in NYC!. https://www.amazon.com/HULPPRE-Upgraded-Outdoor-Unwanted-Explorers/dp/B0BGNPMJ9K/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?adgrpid=75950529983&gclid=CjwKCAiA7vWcBhBUEiwAXieIto9-CiRRnw1wKnmImXVqDVZ8X7bJo-dwJYx6Fjvh5CjKsjNIMNzVWhoCHrsQAvD_BwE&hvadid=378361314885&...
I’m so glad you have the steel tubes now! I thought I’d share what came in my house, which I’d never seen before but love. It’s not exaaaactly like this but quite similar. The fact that it’s in the middle of the glass door makes it obvious to me that it’s not in place whenever I might otherwise forget to do so.
I’m also a young woman that lives alone - I actually ended up buying these little magnetic door alarms that you can “arm” just by moving a switch on the device; if a door (or window, wherever you set it up) opens while it’s armed, it blares an ungodly loud alarm that could truly wake the dead. I set it every night before I go to bed and it offers me a huge amount of comfort knowing that if someone DID try something, my entire apartment building would be wake up 😅
It’s not my house, and I didn’t make that decision, but yes.. The dog got out through the door as was reported by the investigators. The front door was wide open, according to them. And the back door was frequently left open according to someone who was in the house when they got there. Although it was like flipping 35° outside that night, so I’d be skeptical cause why tf? But since the police also mentioned that the front door was left open (prob from the friends entering) I do believe that the dog went out through an open door.
The behavior analysis FBI agents who were there recreating the crime scene kept pointing to the sliding glass door too, according to Chandley Painter of CourtTV who did an audio-only stream on the scene with Vinny Politan who was hosting but not on the scene.
Yep.
In fact.
I read this book back in 2010 or so when I was stationed in Arizona: Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters
One of the things that stuck with me forever was one of the SKs was asked something along the lines of how someone could protect themself from an SK and the guy said "lock your doors and windows and keep a loaded gun nearby."
I keep a loaded .45 within arm's reach, but in a case like this? I mean - if you're dead asleep, especially drunk? You'd be lucky to be able to effectively fight back if someone comes and can just get a couple of good jabs into you before you realize what's going on.
But definitely.
Keep the doors/windows locked, get cameras, and get a weapon. All good practices for maintaining the safety of your home.
thank you yeah that is probably the camera
i looked it up on amazon
19.99$ very cool that someone had a camera up https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XCRPXD1/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_WDQE0J44W933YZKZRNH6_0
Reverse image searched. I found this which like 99.9% is the jacket & has thumb holes.
Not saying this discounts the possibility of any bandage(s) or injuries or blemishes, which could be obscured underneath. But, if this is indeed the jacket, the thumb holes are “included” and Occam’s Razor would mean it’s simply his winter coat, not something he intentionally “sought out” to wear!
This whole thread is an interesting theory though, and one that’s easier to entertain than others.
