Thanks a lot everyone! We wouldn't be here without you. Literally. There's no way we would be working on it as hard as we are if the response hadn't been this amazing. I was the only programmer on the game (together with our artist, Alexander) until the game was released, but the response quickly made us realize that (although money is very tight right now) we need more people to fulfill the potential the game has, so we added /u/0xTalisca who had previously worked on our other game, Space Spy, and we are investigating the possibilities of freeing up more manpower that is currently tied up in other projects.
A lot of people really seem to not only dig the potential the game has, but actually already really like the current game (even though it is very light in content and gameplay features). The comments we're getting are pretty insane, more than one player has told us that it's the best idle game they ever played. There are even players making spreadsheets about our game! You have no idea how proud that makes us.
All that's left to say is that we are looking forward to whatever this game will be in the future just as much as you are. We really believe we have the chance to push idle games, and maybe browser games in general, to an entirely new level, and we're certainly going to do our absolute best to use that potential.
Oh, it's not time limited, and it's quite public as it applies to every developer who submits games on Kongregate. See here: http://www.kongregate.com/pages/help#ad-revenue-share-q-2
So we could put the game back on other sites at any time in the future. For example, we've been thinking about a doing a Steam Greenlight campaign at some point in the future to make a version of the game that runs as a native application on PCs, without having to use a browser or something like that. If we ever decided to go through with that, we'd have to tell Kong about it, void our additional 15% ad share or otherwise commit... fraud? Not sure what the proper legal term is here.
What about this chart for chances to perform more than 2 hits in a row? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jI5k1wV1KOOaobF7g31uJBVQBEHfVZvSFG680SqYlPQ/edit
It's not mine btw. Zund from Kongregate made it.
I could be wrong, but to me, this sounds like a sticky keys problem. I've experienced that sometimes Ctrl, Shift or Alt keys keep acting like it's pressed, even though you released it a long time ago.
I asked this earlier and got this. "Hey! Unfortunately we had to make the decision to pull the game off of other sides other than Kongregate. You can still play it there: http://www.kongregate.com/games/pitforest/idle-raiders. I'll make a dedicated news post about it soon."
