Yup - problem solved.

I can't tell what your yellow flowers are because the shot is too wide angle for me. That said, for your next trip, I would recommend an app call "Seek" by iNaturalist. iPhone Android I find it quick and easy to use. I had a visitor to my park recommend it to me. And now I recommend it to anyone who wants to identify plants by leaves or flower.
> We changed that.
...sort of. The explicit text of Article XIII is:
> "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
The pertinent section has been emboldened. I realize that it may seem like I'm being pedantic, but I highly recommend (if you are able to do so) watching the documentary <u>13th</u> on Netflix.
I'm sorry for your loss. I just did a quick search and found this. It looks like a magazine from the school he attended. Page 34 contains an obit, but does not give a lot of info. Hope this helps you find some closure.
Edit: Also, this blog entry from a friend of his.
A $500 increase? I'm pretty sure they're simply trying see how badly they can fleece their policy holders before they switch to another carrier.
Yeah you drive to a train station and take a train.
https://www.thetrainline.com/train-companies/national-rail/national-rail-map
England is covered in tracks and while they don't go everywhere they certainly can get you to and from a lot more places than anything we have.
To get from Bristol in the west of England to london in the east is 2.5 hours by car and 1.75 hours by train. 45 minutes faster to cross the width of the country by train than by car.
For those who don't know, the legality of same-sex marriage is being put to a public referendum this November in the state of Maryland.
Obviously, I hope that everyone here who sees it will turn out to help retain the rights and benefits of all married Marylanders.
Edit: The producer took it down for some reason. here's the new link: https://vimeo.com/51832808 Also, this project was 100% volunteer. The only dime spent on its production went to rent gear.
Maryland law says applicants have to “demonstrate cause” for the issuance of a carry permit. So first become a victim, then maybe they will issue you a permit. See Woollard v. Sheridan
Patapsco Valley State Park is pretty close to Baltimore and has a bunch of options - traditional hikes, paved paths, waterfalls...

Gunpowder falls by the dam.
Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/prettyboy-reservoir-dam--2
Don’t go when it’s wet. It can be dangerous. Long pants to avoid ticks. I start at the dam because it has this bridge that overlooks the reservoir and is beautiful
In the DC area, C-SPAN Radio is at 90.1 FM. (If you have an HD Radio tuner, they broadcast 3 channels.) I don't have cable TV, so broadcast radio or their website is the only way I can catch anything they put out.
You can livestream it from a PC and other places like the TuneIn app/website:

Their 'Washington Journal program's "open phones" segments, with all the viewer call-ins from folks of all political persuasions (and various levels of sanity) are really something unique on the airwaves, more so over the past two years.

Yeah the Patapsco has something like 150 miles of hiking ranging from paved trails to steep craggy stuff that is a challenge. For beginners check this out https://www.alltrails.com/parks/us/maryland/patapsco-valley-state-park The official DNR website has some good trail maps, but the alltrails website is a lot easier to navigate. I just got back from a big hike in the Hollifield Area.
Other good trails include the Billy Goat trail out of Harpers Ferry, the C&O Canal (particularly the section along Green Ridge State Park), the AT of course, and the trails in the Fredrick Watershed.
Oh.. if you're coming down 15 from Harrisburg to I-70, you're going to be passing through some of the best mountain biking!! But I live in the area and am biased. I also haven't ridden everything in the state.
What kind of trail do you like? Cross Country, rock gardens w/hike-a-bike sections, downhill, etc?
I personally love Gambrill State Park. Lots of trails, well marked, variety. Some easy XC type stuff, some climbs & descents, some ass-kicking rocky stuff. I do it on my hardtail, but mostly in the snow. Here's the Yellow trail, https://www.strava.com/segments/933573
If you want to get your ass kicked and wonder how 5 miles took you so long, go to Frederick Watershed. These trails are not well marked, so bring a GPS or a map or something! https://www.strava.com/segments/9142498
A little further up North is a bunch of supposedly amazing mtb in Michaux State Forest in PA.
Patapsco is also really fun and closer to your final destination.
You might try using the Roadtrippers website. I use it regularly to make my road trips entertaining. You can input your destination and see a Google Map with an Attractions overlay. You'll see Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives locations, as well as all types of amazing stops.
That is a great place but 100% correct on the mosquito issue. Last time there I used 30% deet (Repel 100) and had great luck with it, not a single bite. It’s also fun because it is electric pink colored. My toddler loves it just as much for the color.
Even if you don't anticipate making another trip to Boston, there are so many tolls everywhere these days that it just makes sense to have an EZ Pass for every day living.
Not to mention some toll highways (e.g. the ICC / MD 200) don't have toll booths and require payment of tolls by EZ Pass.
If permanently sticking something on your windshield bothers you, get a non-stick pad for your dashboard and put the transponder on top.
Almost all the time this is a cheap capacitor, not the motor. Do not throw money at it without exploring that. Look for something like this inside the housing and find one with the same specs. Very easy to do. Here’s a common example:

I bought this for my fiance and I to do something around when he was visiting me here in Maryland. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use it. I don't want it to go to waste so if anyone wants it for free, I can probably screenshot the voucher and send it to you. It expires on very soon so please claim it ASAP!
I just looked up Section C:
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/billy-goat-trail-section-c--3
Billy Goat Trail Section C
Billy Goat Trail Section C is a 2.8 mile out and back trail located near Potomac, Maryland that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options.
Distance: 2.8 miles
Elevation Gain: 167 feet
Route Type: Out & Back
https://www.canaltrust.org/pyv/billy-goat-trail-c/
Billy Goat Trail C
The Billy Goat Trail is appropriately named.
Divided into three sections (A, B, and C), The Billy Goat Trail takes more adventurous hikers along, up and over the rocks edging the Potomac River at Great Falls. It has been popular with hikers since the 1800s.
Section C, a 1.7 mile loop that returns to the C&O Canal at Mile 10.9, is the easiest of the three sections, although there are still a few rock outcroppings to traverse. The trail offers outstanding views of the Potomac River, and a small waterfall. It’s beautiful for both spring wildflowers and fall colors.
As with all Billy Goat Trail sections, hikers should wear sturdy hiking shoes, be prepared for weather changes, carry and drink plenty of fluids (never drink from the canal or river), never hike alone, and stay off slippery rocks and cliff faces.
See Billy Goat Trail C: West Trailhead and Billy Goat Trail C: East Trailhead for where to begin your hike.
Mile Marker: 9.9-10.9

Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (Google Maps) has lotus in full bloom right now, about 5 feet tall! Go early in the morning for the best view. I also saw a fox and a beaver there last weekend.
It depends where you are, how far you're willing to go, and what kind of kayaking you want to do. I mainly do touring/recreational kayaking, so I can't tell you much about whitewater spots.
Anyway:
One great place is Fletcher's Boat House (it's off Canal Road, technically in DC, but it's right next to the Maryland border). They rent kayaks at reasonable prices. You can put in right there and kayak downriver towards Georgetown (great views of the city) or upriver for a more secluded experience. Unfortunately, you can't go too far upriver because it starts getting a little rocky.
My favorite place in the Annapolis area is Truxton Park. They do not have rentals, but there's a boat ramp and a pier where you can put your kayak in. Then you paddle through central Annapolis (which is beautiful, but watch out for big boats and their possibly drunken operators). After 15 or 20 minutes, you can paddle out into the wide open Chesapeake. The waves get a little bigger, which is great fun, and the view is just spectacular. Just don't stray too far from shore.
As far as buying a used kayak, you can get a decent basic recreational one for as little as $200-300, and upwards from there for something nicer/more fun. Check ebay and Craigslist.
Hope that helps.
Edit: spelling
That's....normal.
December through March is mostly winter, It's always cloudy and cold.
We have had a pretty cloudy May so far, but June through October is usually pretty Sunny and clear minus whatever tropical systems send our way.

Have you tried Airbnb? I haven't searched specifically in harford county, but I've found cabins in southern md & Virgina successfully.
https://www.airbnb.com/s/Harford-County--MD--United-States?ss_id=40izl2ut
Here's the map. It's a little bit to the left of the marker, it kind of looks like an overgrown baseball field. Looks awesome, I'll probably try to visit in the near future.
I purchased these magnetic signs from Amazon. Just stick them in a relatively clean, flat metal surface of the car and it will stick like glue even at high speeds (at least 85mph).
I do have to say they do make a difference for other drivers to be more tolerant of your hesitation and also when mistakes happen they have additional time to react since they are more alert on your car.
Well, speaking of rockhounding!

Now that's a good question! There should be a way to send someone a code through email or text that they can use to redeem a thing.
You could PM it to me, and then only I'd see it. If you look on my profile, I've done Reddit Secret Santa before, so I'm at least 37% trustworthy. I understand if you don't want to though. Also, Amazon sells it! At least, to my IP address :)
I’ve only been to this one once but the King and Queen Seat trail at Rocks State Park is fun and has a great view but can get crowded at times.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/king-and-queens-chair
I'm also in harford county and have been using the "AllTrails" mobile app to find most of the hikes others have mentioned, which is nice because its free, gives google map directions to parking, and gives GPS navigation during the actual hike. Another great resource is the following book that has a list of nearby hikes by county: https://www.amazon.com/Hikes-Within-Miles-Baltimore-Including/dp/1634041526?ref=d6k_applink_bb_dls&dplnkId=040b5ed1-82b4-435e-aa54-639a498dbeaa
I used triclopyr diluted 1:1 with water. I also added a little bit of food coloring so I could make sure that the herbicide was staying in the cuts. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R17ZDPK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I also recommend using a small saw instead of a hatchet to make the cuts. It's much easier to control depth and placement.
You can do your part by buying them for your yard

Those are great points. Buffered flex posts was also something I considered, certainly open to it! One reason I saw the possibility for parking protected lanes was that there are medians at a few intersections that would make it feasible plus there aren't many intersections on this road to begin with, especially around the station and town. Though they might have to readjust some sections of sidewalk and maybe install some more medians, which could remove even more unnecessary asphalt.
Another kicker is that I've never seen the park and ride parking lot at the station ever filled to max, if they fully got rid of shoulder parking I'm not sure people would even care. But then again, I've only really started paying attention to the road recently.
Not a snoball stand, but the Nature Center that I volunteer for uses an ice shaver that looks like this. The kids at the summer day camps get a cone at the end of the day. Prices seem to vary a lot.

I thought we were talking about big wheels tricycles when I opened the thread. Which, honestly, I'd totally believe a bunch of Frednecks riding around on these: https://www.amazon.com/Original-Big-Wheel-Inch-Tricycle/dp/B08WZ3KYMV for a bit of fun.
I can tell you they absolutely love whatever these glue traps are made out of. I leave these in my garage and unfinished basement, replace them once a year, and they get absolutely covered in spider crickets. Haven't seen any crickets in the rest of the house or heard cricket noises coming from the garage or basement since I started using them.

I'm sure there's an iOS version as well, but this seems like basically a guided tour of the state. When you're in one of the spots, look for local restaurants.
Obviously this is somewhat dependent on your ability to get yourself around the state, but it's my plan for this summer with my kids. The goal is half the shit on there.
Y'all got Amazon?

I prefer the road, but back when I mainly rode on trails I would ride the Northwest Branch, Northeast Branch, Sligo Creek and Anacostia (in DC, but it connects to one of the MD trails) and Baltimore and Annapolis.
The Washington and Old Dominion is a good one in VA, not far from MD and DC.

My fiancé and I were going to do this trail this past weekend, which is listed as kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
What we did not realize is that the trail-head begins across the street from the parking lot that the directions send you. We ended up walking a much longer and more difficult trail. So, if you decide to walk this trail - make sure you are on the right one!
I've found them in-store in Walmart too if you need them quickly, but you put some vinegar in the bottom cup & it's dead fruit flys for daaaays.

I'm going to have to google that one, all I know about foursquare is a game some kids used to play on the basketball court that involved drawing some squares with sidewalk chalk. I was too busy playing D&D to be interested in such things. (AKA I was never invited)

Similar to Scratch, but maybe a little more involved. Here is the link.
MIT App Inventor is another one you might like. You can create Android apps with it, and the programming is drag and drop. If you learn Scratch first, the concept of how App Inventor works will make a lot more sense, although you'll want to find tutorials on YouTube.
You have the gift of time on your side, and that means you can learn programming concepts such as loops and variables using the drag and drop block programming. Later, when you're taking a Java class, the content will be easier for you to grasp because it won't be so abstract -- you'll be able to visualize what's happening.
Reddit has many good subreddits relating to computer science. Try r/learnprogramming as a starting point.
Just some general equipment advice: AliExpress has a shit-ton of reasonably priced stuff suitable for backpacking. And without going on AE, NatureHike is a brand that also has an Amazon store and their own website. Their tents won't be as light as a Big Agnes or whatever, but they're cheaper, and while bikepacking with their Spider 1, I've found it to be solid. Easy to set up, plenty room, etc.
Were I you, I might go for a bivvy bag, though? And a down sleeping bag (unless it's very warm, in which case you can go with less than a sleeping bag) and a blow-up pad like this one I have. Maybe a blow-up pillow.
Don't forget an absolute ton of food, a hydration system, and good shoes, and do try to test out your kit before you try to walk in it for several days lest you discover some chafing too late. If you must cook, get something like an MSR Pocket Rocket kit with the little pot.
If you’re asking for a Tesla, I got this one from Amazon.
