I've been out doing similar stuff a couple of times and I'm going again in a couple of weeks. Here's a couple of things that might help.

I read that recently Moldovan border officials appeared at the border (they come in through Ukraine) so you'd likely get the Moldovan entry stamp which wasn't the case until recently.
