Y'know what? I thought it was kind of an interesting problem, so I just did it. Can be downloaded from: https://gofile.io/?c=cBXaO8 It's a zip file with two .ncs files in. They need to go in your override folder, which is found in My Documents/Neverwinter Nights/Override 9for the EE at least). If the override folder doesn't exist, create it.
This version will only work for HotU, though its very quick to make it work for any particular module. It will work with your existing characters and save games. Once the files are in place, the first time you start to rest in game, you'll be given a feat called "player tools 1", which can be found in the radial menu under your base class features (it should be right next to your horse controls).
Use the feat (which is instant and can be used while the game is paused) and you will get something like this turn up:
> better sound.
unless Beamdog managed to implement EAX and openAL soft positional audio, no the original still has better sound.

I don't own NWN2, but I know with NWN:EE on gog.com you can download the files individually and install just the base game without the latest patches and without the DLC.
Maybe someone who owns NWN2 on GOG can confirm if this is the case?
Start with this in SP: https://store.steampowered.com/app/737001/Neverwinter_Nights_Wyvern_Crown_of_Cormyr/
And then move onto this: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/darkness-over-daggerford-canceled-premium-module
Will keep you nice and disconnected from the meta of anything else you guys might play together.
It is a huge issue which many people have voiced their concern to beamdog about. At the very least they need to add an import/export function for saves or even better move the user data somewhere user accessible if they are concerned about security.
I have found a workaround for systems with android 12 which is more friendly than the method you mentioned which requires uninstall. The app called X-plore has the permission request necessary to access the Android/data directory, I highly recommend it for this purpose.

Not as of yet, it's on the trello boards in the icebox, so something they want to do but isn't something of high priority and we're unsure exactly what will come of such (hopefully it'll be a variable option a module developer can set as they deem appropriate).

Yeah, that's odd. I was more prepared for the final episode(s) missing, but it seems like they are there. I don't know the full story about this though, I just compared the content of the packages I linked to and also saw a user in the comment section talk about it. And I don't remember any details from the series - maybe the first episode was not that important for the plot yet? I should really replay the series one day. Incidentally, I hear the author made a popular novel series out of his story.
According to Wikipedia NW2 came to Mac on February 26, 2008. Apple was shipping Intel Core 2 Duo (64 bit) for MacBook, it appears, at that time. You're right, though, the game may have also been compiled for PowerPC because Apple support didn't end until 2011. However, I note on the NW2 Mac Amazon page: "Intel Only Machines" https://www.amazon.com/Neverwinter-Nights-2-Mac/dp/B000UGNLGY
So I think pretty good chances Gog could bring it to Intel Macs pretty easily. Apple Silicon would require recompiling I imagine unless it could just be run in Rosetta 2, and given its a game from 2006, it probably wouldn't be too demanding for that.
Hello!
The development team on NWN:EE takes community feedback and selects improvements based on the public Trello board, allowing fans to help steer NWN:EE’s future.

As far as player models they definitely do point to it. Tiles, I have no clue. Whether or not it actually happens is another story though.
u/JuliusBorisov, first of all apologies for taking a few days - real life intervened over the weekend.
I tried the following steps:
(1) delete all Icewind Dale EE cache & data (from Settings app), then uninstall the app itself
(2) reinstall Icewind Dale EE from Google Play
(3) launch and start a single player game
(4) make both a quick save and a manual save
(5) Quit the game
(6) Check the Android/data folder with different means, for essentially the same results:
(a) Files by Google (preinstalled files app on Android 12) -> can't see contents of that entire folder, and no way to grant that permission AFAICT
(b) Files (which was previously accessible from Settings, now through a shortcut via this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marc.files&hl=en_US&gl=US) -> can see the com.beamdog.icewinddale directory, but it's empty
(c) Solid Explorer -> can see the com.beamdog.icewinddale directory but it's empty
(d) PC (Linux) via USB storage -> can see the com.beamdog.icewinddale directory but it's empty
(e) PC (Linux) via ADB shell -> can see the com.beamdog.icewinddale directory but cannot list its contents (access denied)
As noted before, this is on Android 12, Google Pixel 5a. If this directory is supposed to be accessible, it's definitely not working as intended.
Let me know if you require any more info or if I should submit a bug report somewhere.

No, I'm talking about running a virtual machine (starts simple but give it a watch till the end) with something like the Oracle VM, VirtualBox. It's like having a second computer that runs inside your existing setup and shares whatever hardware resources you let it have. You then install an earlier version of Windows and run and play software like you would on any other computer, thereby bypassing the nonsense you're encountering now.
Sounds like the classic NWN on Radeon issue. You'll need to open the Radeon config app (forgot the name - something like Catalyst or RadeonTool or RadeonPro?), go to "Texture Filtering" and change it to "Performance". More info on PCGamingWiki https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Neverwinter_Nights#For_AMD.2FATI_cards
If I remember right it does turn bright greens in the game to puke green and you'll get microstutter when a new character loads in but hey it's an old and unoptimized game that was made 5 generations of Windows ago for OpenGL 1.2.
Texture Filtering - set to Performance (i think)
Edit: There it is: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Neverwinter_Nights
>AMD/ATI cards[citation needed] > > You may find increased performance by disabling/turning down the Catalyst AI in your Catalyst Control Panel's 3D settings. In the newer VISION Engine Control Center, this can be accomplished in the advanced view by creating a new profile for nwmain.exe under Gaming - 3D Application Settings, then, under Texture Filtering, setting "Texture Filtering Quality" to "Performance" and "Surface Format Optimization" to "Off." For some reason this may make your character disappear. To make your character reappear, go into the ingame video options and disable Environment Mapping on Creatures.
I assume it'd run fine once you install the 1.69 critical rebuild from NeverwinterVault. The enhanced port goes on sale for $10 pretty often if your copy doesn't work. The GOG.com version of NWN Enhanced comes with the original Diamond if you want that version.
It is only Raspbian that is missing a 64 bit version.
You can easily install, say, the 64 bit version of Manjaro Linux for ARM (https://manjaro.org/downloads/arm/raspberry-pi-4/arm8-raspberry-pi-4-kde-plasma/) and get it that way. VERY nice distro for RPi with KDE Plasma, btw, and a little overclocking, at least on RPi 4 model B.
Me and my friend are having trouble getting to play together on NWN2 we put our keys in that we got from gog.com account where it shows serial keys put them in the nwncdkey.ini file with notepad++ now when we go into multiplayer to try and use the extension client, to make new game online says our cd keys is unauthorized. Does anyone know a way around this?
You will need a pc and the 3 pack for Neverwinter Nights 2 - the one with Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir - NWN2 Complete from gog.com will work.
Everything else gets autodownloaded to you.
Can you try using Settings > Storage > Files and choose Files, not Files by Google?
There are a few file managers that work better with Android 11. We've heard that https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore
works with Android/data.
Thank you for the quick response!
Termux is basically a single user linux environment + shell packaged in an app, running on top of the Android Linux kernel. It's pretty popular among a certain kind of Android enthusiast, so I was hoping you might know or even have it 🙂
In case youre curious: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.termux
No worries if you can't test it though - I realize you can't just test every file manager in existence, and as long as worst case the default Files app works, that's OK 🙂
