I'm a pretty simple man, it's nothing complicated.
I have a pair of hand shears like for trimming roses and such. Nice thick blade to cut through the branches.
Also, three 5 gallon buckets to wash the buds in. First bucket is warm water with a couple cups of lemon juice. Second is cold water with a couple bottles of peroxide. The third is just plain room temp water.
To dry, I use a metal clothing rack I got on amazon.
For trimming I use a trim bin and japanese bonsai pruning scissors. Chikamasa B-500sf Stainless Steel Scissors w/ Fluorine Coating (Resin-resistant) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JSYB9I6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4--QDbP29WMY0
For curing, lots of glass quart sized jars.
So, I cut a branch or two, the largest buds first, at a size that will allow them to fit in the bucket. I dunk and swish them in each bucket in the order I listed above. Allow to drip for a min, and then hang them on wire hangers on the clothing rack to dry with a towel under them to soak up dripping water.
After a few days to a week, when they are sufficiently dry and I can snap the small stems and the leaves are crunchy, I start trimming them in the trim bin and put the buds in jars as I trim. I start trimming the smaller buds first as they are the most dry. Each jar holds between 28 and 35 grams depending on the bud size and density. Open the jars for a min every week or so for a month or so. It cures as I smoke it, but it's prime is around 2 months of cure, I think.
I hope that helps some folks. Let me know if you have more specific questions.
Definitely insect damage, mites are my guess... I would suggest you use NPK Mighty Spider Mite Wash. I had bad mites in an indoor grow. Nothing I tried seemed to help. Tried different soaps and Neem combinations... They just seemed to stick around. I used this ONCE on two plants and within 48 hours every single spider mite was dead. I waited about a week and sprayed lightly again... and for the rest of the grow (another four weeks) until harvest, never saw another mite.

Lost Coast Plant Therapy has served me well for years against spider mites. Their newest formula is more efficient too.
This was my photo blackberry crumble prior to transplant however the auto had the same root structure. I’d rather be safe and wait a touch longer vs transfer prematurely and possibly stress it
Get a pack of these. Get a glass of alcohol. Start snipping like Edward Scissorhands. As soon as they start to get gummed up, drop them in the alcohol and grab a new pair. Repeat this until you're done.
Thank me later.

I bought a 5 pack of personal alarms off Amazon - $15 prime. If you pull the pin, they make a terrible noise.

I’m in SoCal, east county San Diego and it has been so dry. Not sure if that is a factor but maybe cuz my other five plants are all showing some amber already but still about 20 percent clear so I’m watching mostly for all the tichomes to turn cloudy. I took this photo with a cheap tripod I already had and this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PVMRZQH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8S09FVCM56BZQA4TD2NM

I feel you brother. They are trying to take over at my GH. The sprayer is just a standard canister air sprayer from Amazon. I have been using the white top which I believe is 1/16. It was pretty cheap and I painted 3k sq ft of wood fence with it a couple years ago but had just been sitting since. I’m actually mad I didn’t think of it earlier! Instead of that damn spray bottle. Here’s a link. Good luck my friend!

How long do PH pens normally last? I never really thought about it before... I'm use to PH solution testers for my aquarium. I'm actually surprised at how much the testing for plants and fish seem to intertwine, especially if you have a planted tank lol.

Can't vouch for it since I'm still waiting but I'm in the same situation and went with Natures Living's Super Soil as recommended per growweedeasy.com. You fill the bottom 1/3 of your container with it and fill up the rest with soil of your choice. The nutrients become available over time for the plant so it should be less risky.
I bought the Autoflowering variant and I'll probably mix it with Ocean Forest or Coco Loco.
I’m using a 90W equivalent basic LED light (15W actual). A 40W should be fine. Cannabis plants are very sensitive to light so even a weak light will work.
Rule of thumb is if it fully illuminates the plant in the dark then you’re in the clear.
I used tent stakes, they are heavy enough to bend the plant and easy to remove or adjust.

The plastic cover is garbage, it dries out in the sun and starts tearing at the zippers. But It's just as easy just to use a clear tarp or drop cloth. The frame has a lot of uses.
Pistils have nothing to do with time frame. You need a loupe. To check the tiny little “diamonds” on the buds. (Not on the sugar leaves)
Some people like to look at pistils, but really the best way to judge is by looking at trichomes. You’re going to want more cloudy, less amber(I wouldn’t do no amber. It’s better to have some amber rather than more clear.)
If you don’t have a loupe I would recommend buying one. It’s like 10-15$ on amazon. one I use, nothing fancy
Edit: from the photo you recently posted, you look like you have a ways to go!

Non toxic and catch tons of things around the plants including leafhoppers.
Of course my limited experience but I am catching so many leafhoppers it is crazy.. if you remember before I was skeptical they are even around.. now there is no doubt. They are stealthy, esp the green ones.
Good luck! Yeah only 1 plant is pretty bad you can see in that thcfarmer link. Well there are a few that are pretty bad but that one in the pics seems especially stunted.
We shall see!
Seems to me leafhoppers are enemy #1 until I harvest. Won't overdue it, made that mistake (i think dish soap fried mine), but I'll see what I can discover/do in the mean time. Big thanks for illuminating this whole thing to me I know I would've never found out the cause of this as this is relatively rare and new.
Doesn't seem far enough along to make fertilizing it a bad idea. Definitely needs nitrogen, as that deficiency starts at the bottom like that.

Not sure I can dry trim. As it is, I have to dry in the house because the humidity is just too high outside. I have 2 of these racks to dry in:

Do you think I could lay untrimmed wet bud in these and it would still dry?
I'm looking at Trimbag and bookmarked it. Dry trimming would certainly be nice if I could do it. Thanks.
Spinosad and BT work through ingestion, they eat it and it kills their appetite, they slowly die out. Spinosad will kill most things (organically with an enzyme) whereas BT works (i assume) exclusively on caters.
Spinosad/BT doesn't seem to work well (for me) on these smaller bugs. Aphids, spider mites. I use lost coast plant therapy from my local hydro store, use it to wash the leaves.
I got a suggestion for your shaky hands! They make some really cheap (for what you get anyways) digital microscopes you can get on Amazon. The one i have has it's own wi-fi and you connect your phone to it's wi-fi to get a live view. That alone would be even harder than a loupe (From my experience), but they often come with clips so that you can clip the microscope to a stand and place it by what you are trying to view. You'll have to get a little creative to find a stand that would reach the height of your colas but it's a start (maybe a microphone stand?).
Perhaps even better though...check this out! I think i want one myself now. Hands free loupe

Best solution for spider mites I have ever found is Mighty. By far the most effective and safe solution for spider mite infestations I have ever used.
I started off with this kit a couple years ago but now I just use the timer from it combined with this soaker hose and it works great! The hose did get a tiny hole this year so it sprays a little whenever it's running but that's fine. (I just positioned it so it doesn't spray the plants.) Overall this has been a lifesaver for me, so I hope it works well for you next year!
Not the most common enemy, but I’ve had termites destroy plants before!! They’ll chew through the stem right at soil level leaving your plant looking like a sharpened pencil. For me, I think they came from my old wooden garage or a delivery of mulch I got that year. I use these stakes around my plants now to be safe and I haven’t had a problem in a couple years: https://www.amazon.com/Spectracide-Terminate-Termite-Detection-Killing/dp/B00AA8WVLI Good luck!

I find it almost easier to see closer using zoom on my phone than looking with my eyes. I have a pixel 5a and the camera is pretty good on it. I need a phone tripod or something to get a stable shot without my hands or the plant shaking
One of the biggest enemies of cannabis are butterflies and moths that lay their eggs in the flower and that leads to bud rot and you can lose an entire plant to them. So netting helps keep the butterflies away. Always good to look for caterpillars anyhow just in case but insect netting or crop cage netting works well. It does not protect against aphids, thrips, powdery mildew so you will have to keep an eye out for those things, too. I started with a book by Joanna silver. If I was going to grow for years I would check it, and I will if I ever get the chance with a good ph meter, but as far as I know I'm just growing for this year, so I don't want to waste money and I guess I won't check my soil either. How good was your weed though with this method?
Irish Spring is a brand of soap. You can get the hotel size bars, individually wrapped, on Amazon. It has a very strong minty smell that persists for months if you leave the wrapper on. I have grown a ton of weed outdoors over the last 20 years and hanging bars of this soap on each plant has worked really well for me.
Easy and cheap solution is a supplemental grow light for the 4+ hours you plant is indoors. Something like this would be enough for a few months until daylight is in the 13+ hours per day range.
I did not have my tent open it was sealed, so I didn't use a filter in there. I had about 5lbs dry weight (20+- wet) to get dry so that's why I used these larger units. Depending on what you have to dry, you could probably use something smaller. Ideally you want as near as 60° n 60rh to get an even n slow dry process. Low temps preserve terpenes.

No problem, excited to see what you grow.
I did see that there are grow shops in Madrid that sell seeds. Might be worth calling around to see if any sell seedlings / clones.
Be aware that most of the above are grown indoors- if you do get one, make sure you slowly acclimate it to being outside. Don't just plop it in the blazing sun, give it an hour the first day, 2 hours the next, and so on. Also, assuming you are not growing an autoflower type, be sure to put it outside AFTER the area is receiving at least 12 hours of sunlight per day.

You shouldn't have a problem keeping it under 6', most autos are shorter than that even if they are well cared for. Bending them to the north will help with yield and also keep the plant shorter. Or you can top them. Either way, easy peasy.
2) It's very possible, if you have the right climate - I know a grower in San Diego who plants autos all year long. In southern ontario, it looks like you have a shorter growing season - https://weatherspark.com/y/19236/Average-Weather-in-Greater-Sudbury-Canada-Year-Round#Sections-GrowingSeason
~180 days. You can season extend by building a simple hoop house for ~$100 to $300.
3) Autoflowers don't really "clone" well. The part that makes autos awesome is that once the seed is popped, it basically has a predetermined timeline and is going to veg then flower for a very limited amount of time. So lets say a particular seed takes 60 days to harvest- if you germinate the seed, then take a cutting at day 20, that cutting will still have the genetic programming to finish in 40 the days remaining. However since it's cut it still needs to redevelop roots, and essentially all you've done is divert energy from potential growth to get a smaller plant. There was a guy who did this on this forum, for fun, and instead of having 1 single regular-sized plant he had like 12x 6" tall plants, each growing a single nug. Cute, but not practical.
I'm going to piggy back on this comment to say this (mold & mildew) really has a lot to do with your weather.
The primary reason most outdoor growers would defoliate seems to be to increase airflow and thus decrease fungal issues by keeping the humidity down.
If you live in a humid place, or you are getting rainfall now (or expect to be soon), you should probably consider defoliating a decent amount, mostly inside the plant, for the purpose of decreasing humidity.
See this series, where the outdoor growers of southern Oregon defoliate inside their plants- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1YUwy-Wkn8 . They get late season rain, so they defoliate a decent amount.
If you're in a dry place, it's not as necessary since you hopefully won't be facing the above issues.
Check out https://weatherspark.com to see your humidity and rain averages in the coming weeks if you're unsure.
The other reason people defoliate, especially indoors, is to increase light penetration and thus yield by increasing the amount of light reaching bud sites. However, outdoors this is less of a factor since A)the sun is super powerful and B)it moves.
There's no reason for the plants to look grayish after the dunk. That really concerns me and you might want to get your water checked out.
I did side by side tests with about 3 pounds of each, unwashed and washed. I noted my preference, and the preference and comments from my buyers. My results swung in quite opposite direction of yours.
I really should make another Science Sunday post if newer growers are unaware. Leaves are actually an organ of the plant, known as an excretophore.
As the link quickly explains, leaves store both organic and inorganic waste that perspire from the leaves with help from water. Its one of the main purposes of the leaves. Iirc, photosynthesis developed later in plants, in a way to get last bit of nutrients from the waste material. Human similarity is how we adapted intestinal bacteria to break down our leafy and fibrous foods before they are discarded as waste.
Homosapiens developed increasing longer intestinal tracks to allow for bacteria, plants produced more leaves to allow more photosynthesis.

These are the best trimmers I’ve used. You could definitely trim those up a bit more with them. Also mechanical bowl trimmers are great for when you’ve got a huge harvest to get through. I’ll run my buds through the bowl trimmer then fine trim them with the micro tip scissors.

Also from mass, lost 11/12 last year to mildew. This year I've been using this stuff and I've been mold free. BT has been working on the caterpillars for me too. Make sure it's fresh, year old stuff isn't as effective. I can only check mine every 3-4 days because of, ha, mold issues in my house during renovations I'm not living at my house and things are doing ok. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YBGPH7H/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_9200FX5T1J5WZARGY4S8
Basically it’s used in the bakery industry for bread. It maintains heat and humidity with the cabinet that contains shelves. proofer
Curious on experienced growers thoughts. TIA

Thanks for the proper product!
Those do work but I’d suggest something like this
It’s just much easier. Just pour a little in a shot glass and throw away when done. Most ph meters have a little sponge in the cap. Just drop some storage solution on it snd add more when it start to dry out. I just use a little distilled water to rinse the meters when done. You can reuse it a few times but it’s better to keep it as clean as possible.
Both of those nutes work but see to be missing some key ingredients. Chopkns cafe mg b m clcuzn moni. This is how we remember what nutes work for plants. Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen come from the environment. NPK are your primary nutes. Ca Mg S are secondary nutes. I do not see Ca in either of your nutrients. Also no nickel, zinc, manganese, copper, or iron. The requirements are relatively low for those other than Ca. But they are essential plant nutrients. A lot of times they are not listed in the guaranteed analysis but you find them in the derivative statement. I don’t see them in either. Do you water with tap water or RO? Tap water might have enough Ca mg and metals to make up for everything else.
Any chance you could send me the ingredient list on your fish fert? I couldn't find one online. What bloom nutes are you using? Curious to know if it has all the essential elements in it.
For the ph and ppm, there are a ton of options out there. These cheap ones from amazon work just fine. Get some calibration liquid and storage solution for your pH meter and calibrate it every other week or so. Be gentle with it, take care of it, and that $10 meter will last you a while. I break one about once a year. I have had my ppm mmeter for a while and its lasted. Once you kind of learn your nute routine you'll know roughly where your ppms and ph should be after mixing. I know that some organic nutes can throw your ppm off but I do not know enough about the topic to comment.
I also do not grow outside, so if it's some weird environmental factor that I have no knowledge of, we will just be shooting in the dark. Also, if you have more pics of other leaves, ones that are just starting and ones that are farther along that might help a bit.
I also put net around my plants, it helps. You could bet the one with aphids since you have so many 10Ft x15Ft Mosquito Bug Insect Bird Net Barrier Hunting Blind Garden Netting for Protect Your Plant Fruits Flower https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015ADBL4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QQ49K1NBAABQ9BVQKKBD

The most popular is probably from Miracle-Gro.
https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Gro-Water-Storing-Crystals-12-Ounce/dp/B0042YYVYG
You should definitely have them in your country in some local gardening store. They're usually called something like "water storing gel" or "water storing crystals".
When I asked a similar question a while ago (another account) answers I got were "check the trichomes".
I got a cheap jeweller's loupe (40X with LED) and honestly it was completely useless for the task.
Then I got a slightly less cheap (but still inexpensive) USB microscope and it was amazing.
Google "trichomes when to harvest" and you'll see examples, basically I waited til they were all cloudy and some had turned amber.

I bought this but Im having the damnedest time getting it to focus at all.
Got something you might suggest?
In the one picture it shows what I have for soil, native soil, dry manure, and mushroom compost mixed (all I was able to get my hands on) - I have added no calcium. It's been raining a LOT the last few days if that makes a difference.
I bought a PH meter online but I was told reusable ones are garbage and to buy strips. Any suggestions for strips or PH testing?
Amazon. They ship the whole thing to your door, it's great. However this is cheap and the overall craftsmanship is crap, but it holds together in the heavy wind I deal with and the plants are thriving in it. It does its job for a great price and easy to setup.
