BTC-e is not the only exchange. It had the most volume, but there are plenty of other supported exchanges. There is an exchange list linked in the sidebar...
1 day EMAs (I use 30, 50, 100 and 200) are switching to bull market. I believe this is a small correction before attempting surge above $2. It looks good but will depend on whether Bitcoin will crash soon after $10k and whether Peercoin will continue to follow suit or finally diverge once more people realise the advantages such as lower energy requirements.

I'll have comScore numbers in the morning, but I'm not so sure the current owner's definition of successful and mine are the same.
According to this Bitcoin was using $150,000 dollars a day back in April. Who knows what it is now.
I guess if you don't care how much electricity is being used just because there's other ways humanity is wasting it, or because you don't think it's that much then what about just practical use?
It's nice just being able to open my wallet, create coins, support the network, just like that. No longer am I blowing two fans into my computer as the GPU that's bigger than my head is churning at 100% 24/7, heating up my entire room. To some people electricity is scarce or expensive, I think it is a valid feature to market.

Your Antivirus is likely blocking your download. You are trying to download from the official website right?
Disable your AV, download the file, upload to virustotal.com and verify the SHA-256 checksums are equal to the ones published on the website under "+ Signatures". If the checksums are equal, you're good to go and can install. After that whitelist the wallet-qt in your antivirus.
The official Peercoin-qt wallet still contains code for mining Peercoin which gives a false positive in antiviruses. My guess is that your other wallets are SPV clients or just don't have any mining code for their respective coins.
After 5+ years of running, peercoin.net have never had an incidence of getting their software compromised by hackers.
Of course you should always try and verify the published checksums once you do download, you never know if today is the day somebody managed to hack the devs.
The published SHA256 signatures are:

I mean I am not going to tell the community how to run it's PR but reddit is the #4 visited site in the U.S. and the #7 visited site globally
source: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/reddit.com
whether you like the community or not, completely abandoning it is just shutting a potentially large piece of the pie out, and calling getting defensive and attacking a potential investor for pointing out that it is unfortunate that they have put barriers in place that will keep some people out.
I don't know about you but if I were the developers/owners of the coin I would want both lazy investors and knowledgeable investors, I would want smart investors and idiots, I would want them all...
Walmart doesn't refuse to sell a fat guy a tub of lard if he's an idiot, they stick a sale price on it and sell him two...
Hello gravityguide,
The questions you are asking are two different ones. To answer your first question, yes you can easily move your wallet to an external hard drive or even a usb. What you would need to do is download the peercoin wallet here and install it on your desktop. Create a wallet and sync it to the peercoin network, then create a seed and make sure to back-up the wallet by copying the wallet.dat file onto an USB stick or external harddrive. Then you can send the peercoins to your wallet. After that you can delete the desktop wallet and when you need the funds you can recover the wallet again.
The second question would be whether you could put the full blockchain on your external hard drive. This process you are describing is possible but depends on the size and speed of your external hard drive. You could do it but it would probably not be as usefull since it would be disconnected from the blockchain each time you unplug it. This means that you need to manually resync and update your wallet everytime you reconnect it. This can be done however the exact instructions are hard to find. You could check instructions of how to sync the bitcoincore from an external hard drive since their wallets are similar. These instruction can be found here.
With kind regards,
The Anycoin Direct team
The calculated SHA-256 checksum your total scan shows for Peercoin_V0.6.1_win.zip does NOT correspond with the one posted on Peercoin.net.
This I would say is a bit concerning, how exactly did you proceed? The hash you should be getting is: >04ec0e385577ee21f6cd11f2c5b88efa2e4d129bea1198ef53e8c6ba828785fc
Yes you can sync with a VPN. That is what I do (with Mullvad). However, there may be a false sense of security. You are still effectively trusting the VPN provider. Tor is a better option but no satisfactory guides exist yet. Maybe soon.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in our service and social activity 🙂 We’re pleased about that.
You’re right that we spread info about our service. We need feedback from the crypto community to understand what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Of course, there are plenty of options to spread the word about our project, but the feedback from the people on Reddit is important to us. Because here, people are not afraid to express their point of view or criticize, this, in turn, will move us in the right way.
SwapSpace team will be glad if you can take a look at our project and share your thoughts about that. You can write a review on Trustpilot or drop an email to
I have tried this service to exchange BTC to PPC and back: https://coinmonkey.io . It was good in that it worked eventually. It saves me having to have an account with an exchange, they use Bittrex mainly I think. However, each time I had to get in touch as the amounts were wrong. however they fixed it manually each time. In any case, thought it may be interesting info for others that don't like to bother with accounts on exchanges any more.
I also have used this: https://flyp.me which has always worked fine for me but the limits are often small or non-existant.
I guess it would be best to try small amounts first until others can report back on their experience and whether they can be trusted but it's good to have more options.
By the way, where can I find out the structure and policies of the foundation? This is the only thing that worries me as it depends on how well it's been thought out. Have you seen Bisq's DAO which aims to reward contributors? https://bisq.network/dao/
This article, by Andreas Antonopoulos, discusses how Bitcoin's proof-of-work scheme secures the Bitcoin network. While he's discussing Bitcoin, specifically, it's relevant to understand the underlying technology that contributes to securing the Peercoin network.
There's a Hacker News post about this article, too, if you want to see what other people are saying about the article.
Arabic translation for Bitcoin core is at 54% according to https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/bitcoin/
You can see the translations if you sign in, they might be helpful. I searched for "coin control" and I couldn't see any translation, but I don't really know what I'm looking for, you might be able to find it.
Good work :)
i did some research and i found that https://bitcoin.org/ar/ uses the arabic letters as i do and also wikipidea, so i think i will continue doing this and try to use the Arabic terms that have been already used even if i have better ones.
.
I am still waiting for the site developers to reply about the third point and if i can use a hyper link for the Arabic terms i used to link them to the available Arabic references.
