The source is riot itself. They are tuning down pyke mid while buffing support. So it actually means that they do accept him played in mid. The fuck are you on about mate ? If they didnt wanted him played mid they could have forced him to support. https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/game-updates/patch-11-5-notes/ As this says they do temp down pyke mids power to buff support. This actually means they do accept pyke being played in mid. Temping down power doesnt mean killing. And we all thought that this patch would kill pyke mid. Guess what happened ? Its still being played there and since then riot did not touched pyke and tried to nerf him when he is above 50 percent wr in mid.

Why I think its so good:
The Invis is instant after R lands, meaning you start regenning health right away in the middle of the teamfight, even if you Buffered CC with R (so for example if you press R and then get stunned during the .75 cast time you Land the R stunned or rooted). This is wild.
A lot of times as pyke you are presented with the opportunity to Ult and Die for it. Usually its worth doing because your kill is "worth" 900 gold while theirs is worth 300. Now with duskblade you can take many more of these plays and get away much much more often.
Duskblade makes you really hard to catch in teamfights if your side is getting the first kill. I have been pairing this with aftershock and precision for triumph/tenacity, and going defensive boots every game. This allows you to play hyper forward in their jungle bait enemy cooldowns especially if they have stuff like sejuani, bard, seraphine etc. Going Umbral 2nd to fight over every ward in the Jg, and then Maw or Frozen Heart depending on enemy comp.
