Rangers are not allowed to stream live matches in the UK or Ireland due to rights issues. A VPN allows you to appear from a different country. Though you do need a good VPN as if it's a dodgy one, all your personal info could be nicked. But VPN's like NORD and Private Internet Access are safe. A VPN can also help protect your internet usage from prying eyes. I connect to a lot of public Wi-Fi's and always use Private Internet Access for that reason.
As for Rangers TV, You need the highest subscription for live matches, or you can pay game by game. The £5 subscriptions only let you watch the games from the day after they aired (I say only, it's still amazing), but you can watch them in the UK so no need for a VPN for that option.
I'm too lazy to keep white clean, but you've already pointed out the real hangup here in cost.
Did you try offerup.com or mercari. com -- can sometimes find a straggler there in terms of old kits?
RTV outside of the UK is pretty expensive.... I’m in New Zealand and this is what I do:
RTV standard package £5 a month
Unlocator VPN about £3.50 a month
Get all the games as live.. this works for me as the live games are usually in the middle of the night so I watch em in the morning or stay off reddit for the day.
You can buy single games live.. I do this with the Old Firm.. canny sleep they nights anyway!
WATP
It works fine on iOS now, has done for a while. Pretty sure you can Airplay it but I never need to so don’t quote me on that.
Worth buying as the money goes direct to the club and you get virtually every game, even pre-season. VPNs work well, I just watched the Europa game from my hotel in London using CyberGhost.
Just gonna throw a reply on this comment that the phrase "Tunnel Bear is a great VPN that is pretty trustworthy" was (and probably still is for now) true, and if you're just going to use it for general recreational stuff it'll do your job for you.
However, TunnelBear were bought out by McAfee this year and while they are based in Canada, they are now owned by a US company and are therefore under US cybersecurity jurisdiction - this is far from ideal for a VPN provider.
If you're no on the run from the FBI or scared about NSA conspiracies then it's not too much of a worry - but the general consensus on TunnelBear is that they aren't the same company they were last year and many people have closed their accounts and moved to a new VPN provider, me included.
I've used multiple over the years but currently use the paid version of CyberGhost VPN, it doesn't cost much and is very simple to use etc. There's also a free version of CyberGhost but with ads and waiting times but as long as the VPN you use has servers outwith the UK any will work.
I got a VPN unlimited account for life a few years back for something like £20 but i use that as a fallback to NordVPN
Edit: Realised you didn't actually direct that at me. Ah well you know what I use now also.
shop.rangers.co.uk - Rangers official club shop
classicfootballshirts.co.uk - for any older Rangers gear
In football the most popular item of merchandise at matches is a scarf with the team colours. This is my personal choice of showing the team colours. Here in the UK, wearing football shirts in public outside matchdays is considered tacky to a lot of people. However, when outside of Scotland I would proudly represent Rangers by wearing a shirt. It's always awesome to spot another Rangers fan abroad wearing a shirt.
Also selling 2008/09 home top. Again all details in ad. https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/rangers-200809-home-top-m/1401851984?utm_source=com.samsung.android.app.notes&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android
It does work with a VPN. NordVPN, PIA and AirVPN are all good options. The other content is actually not bad. Interviews and wee features. Quite interesting but not a netflix replacement obviously.
You can't cast it, and the last time a checked you can't use it on mobile either (though I haven't checked in ages).
Heard of NordVPN actually think they sponsor folk and have discount codes or free trials or something, do they have mobile settings/mobile app for if I’m out and about or is it just desktop? And any idea if RTV supports multiple simultaneous log ins for showing it in multiple screens in the house ?
I used to use PIA but if you're worried about privacy at all, I'd unsubscribe. They're US based which you don't really want. Went with ExpressVPN myself, bit more expensive but fast and based in the Virgin Islands.
