Maybe "Le Bien, Le Mal" by Guru & MC Solaar ?
Otherwise, you may consider asking over at:
Another option, though it's not a sub is Shazam. Very useful tool in finding songs as well.
An overwhelming majority of 90's R&B was sample-based. You can literally lose hours in the rabbit hole that is Who Sampled
To find lists of popular tracks/artists, pull up the year-end charts on soulsystem.it (only has r&B/Hip-Hop charts) and you can find ridiculous amounts of sampling connections
I find RYM pretty good for this sort of thing. Good luck!
She threatened to have them remove the song of the album, and the album was selling like gangbusters.
I believe she got full ownership of the song and they printed an apology on subsequent releases of the album (which is weird in those types of sampling cases).
I'm sure Bad Boy did their due diligence clearing the sample for Mario Winans. Bad Boy's whole catalogue was built on songs made over samples. I think a screw-up happened with "I'll Be Missing You" and Sting took full ownership of that song. I don't Wanna Know is obviously is inspired by Ready or Not, but officially its sampled from the original Enya, and Enya is credited as an artist on the song.
