(it's not saying charging error 6, right?)
error 6 is for the cliff sensors. they either are really dirty, or broke
try cleaning them, if that doesn't work, you can buy new ones pretty cheap
https://www.amazon.com/Sensors-Bumper-Sensor-Cleaner-Replacement/dp/B07ZFLRMJL
there are videos online showing how
raise it up so the bumper hits it and retreats
put a few magazines under it to figure out the right height, then get some wooden circles that match the size
here's some plain ones, they sell thicker ones if you want just one, or glue some together
https://www.amazon.com/Crafts-Audab-Circles-Unfinished-Burning/dp/B08H1VL22M
How much taller? I got this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075KWVTJV
It sticks on roomba and has not come off after quite a few months. I had the same problem. It looks fine too. Kind of like a budding unicorn.
You can stick something like this on the bumper so it will touch the wall. It's soft so it won't leave marks on anything.
https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Proofing-Corner-Protector-Furniture/dp/B07ZJGJZR1/
usually it's better to put a bumper on the thing it's getting stuck on. otherwise, the new taller bumper just finds something that tall to get stuck under :-)
depending on the place, i've attached these types of rubber feet, a little back so that you can't see them, yet the robot will hit them and turn away
https://www.amazon.com/Hilitchi-Bumpers-Matching-Stainless-Cutting/dp/B07GVC8PJW
or put something under the table legs to raise it a few millimeters so the robot can pass under it
I had the same issue from new. I found a solution. I sprayed the drip tray with some nonskid spray (make sure to let it dry thoroughly before use)
Krylon K03400000 Clear Non-Skid... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007RHA5KE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The roomba just randomly cleaning roomba is a problem in a bigger house because it often will end up wandering from room to room until the battery dies, only partially cleaning each room. With the lighthouse, I have the 780 do the dining room/kitchen then move on to the bedrooms. I still have my 595 and it does a great job in the living room, where it can concentrate on just one big space.
If the lighthouse feature doesn't seem important to you the 655 pet series has a $30 rebate at Costco until tomorrow, if you're a member or know someone who will let you use their account: http://www.costco.com/iRobot%C2%AE-Roomba%C2%AE-655-Pet-Series-Vacuum-Cleaning-Robot.product.100127929.html
I think getting the pet kind is critical for picking up hair.
All Roombas can be connected via serial port to a computer and controlled through the open interface (there are lots of APIs which implement the interface, so it’s easy to use in your favorite language).
The easiest way is to buy or make a DIN cable that can connect to your computer or microcontroller. I bought mine on Amazon. If you’re tight on budget there are tutorials online on how to splice one together.
I have a Raspberry Pi 3b, so I used that as my controller (you could probably get away with an Arduino or Pi Zero too). This way I could just plug it in with USB. I downloaded some sample Python code (just Google Roomba Python api and find an example) which I modified to simply control the Roomba by pressing arrow keys. The api will let you turn off the vacuum so no need to disconnect it. I powered the Raspberry Pi with a USB power bank, and used a wireless Bluetooth keyboard so the Roomba could move almost like it was remote controlled.
The first two orders were third party, said they fit e5, example: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07RP8TM6X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_ARE3TXV271TXPH2Q92M1. I just ordered again, from the Amazon iRobot store, and will try those.
If you deal with a lot of hair (seems like you do) I highly recommend buying this https://www.amazon.com/Metapo-Comb-Teeth-Door-AeroVac/dp/B00I0G9UYI/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=roomba+675+comb+door&qid=1603917726&sr=8-3
Do note that it works best with irobot rollers not third party ones due to differences in bristle width.
Also no, that doesn't seem normal whatsoever. Usually you'll see the bristles begin to fray when its time to change the side brush, but it never rips off like in your photo. Looks either like a freak accident or it was defective.
you need to try to get the base of that piece to be high enough that the robot's bump sensor hits it, and thus turns away instead of climbing.
does it need to move? you could try adding felt pads to see if gets high enough
https://www.amazon.com/SoftTouch-4799095N-Hardwood-Protector-Furniture/dp/B07JCX6Z53/
if it's stationary, you could add rubber feet (glue or screw if possible)
https://www.amazon.com/Hilitchi-Bumpers-Matching-Stainless-Cutting/dp/B07GVC8PJW
I'd mock it up first by using books or strips of wood to figure out the exact height needed then find a more permanent solution
Here's an article from consumer reports about extended warranties. You'd be smarter to set aside the money you'd spend to cover repair costs yourself. http://www.consumerreports.org/shopping/dont-buy-extended-warranties/
Isn't this pretty near what you want https://ifttt.com/applets/uhENqfUe-start-roomba-if-last-person-leaves-before-2pm-and-after-8am ? It just sadly needs other things too than just Roomba.
The product page of Gearbest says that the v7s does not work with a smartphone. You review says that it does work with a smartphone.

The review looks like an ad. There are only photos from product pages on the review, and you didn't take your own pictures. The review repeats everything that the product page says.
Did you even buy the vacuum and review it?
> ILIFE V7S Smart Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
ILIFE V7S is $146.99 in a flash sale now.
Or ILIFE V7 for $144.99 here
Ahhh, ok. Man that's disappointing about the docking....what percentage of the time would you say it finds its base?
I watched your video comparing the cleaning abilities of the V5 vs V7 and I guess it's no matter as long as it cleans better!
And they changed the naming conventions. There isn't a V7 pro, they just called it the V7S now for some reason. Not sure why they did it, but the V7S is definitely the wet one.
HAHA I found this sooooo interesting because like you I am a huge gadget guy and not to lie but as of yesterday I was looking at the Iroomba vacuums and wanted one for cheap. I was going to try to get a used old one maybe but now that I have seen this you have changed my whole opinions on it.
What exact model did you get? The v7?
Is this the same as you have received? http://www.gearbest.com/smart-home/pp_187246.html?currency=USD&gclid=CjwKEAiA04S3BRCYteOr6b-roSUSJABE1-6BKwGTPFhX3ZgaE4e1EA7tjixdLR3HpIKkGYT8Hm7viBoCe6Hw_wcB
Does it actually work good?
Does it compare up close to the roomba, because I know someone with a roomba and that thing does an amazing job.
Is it decent quality? From the videos it looks nice.
Does it do good with carpets and getting onto rugs?
no:
https://www.apple.com/ios/home/accessories/
but some people have added roomba to homekit via homebridge, maybe someone could do something similar
Excellent choice. (I still have a couple of those) And it Is good to start your experience with a new battery. I prefer this battery myself.

For pets, you generally want something in the I series. With that price range, you definitely can't get the i7, but you can get an i4+ for $400 right now on Amazon (Amazon Day deal).
If you really want to stay in your price range, go on eBay and look for used i3+'s. You can get them for about $200 if you use your sorting features to show the cheapest first.
The i4+ and i3+ have almost identical features: the i4+ just has a little more battery life. They both have mapping (but not smart mapping... Not sure what the difference is), 10x the suction power of the 600 series, the ability to recharge and then resume the job where they left off, a high efficiency filter, and tangle resistant brushes (great for pets). If you had a bigger budget, I'd probably recommend the i7+, but this is probably the best Roomba for your situation in your price range.
More info on the i3+: https://store.irobot.com/default/roomba-vacuuming-robot-vacuum-irobot-roomba-i3-3550/i355020.html
(Don't buy it from here: it's way more pricy than it is on Amazon. Amazon won't give you the extra filters and stuff, but you'd still come out ahead buying them separate. Also, today, you'd want the i4+ because it's way cheaper even though it's a slight upgrade to the i3+.)
100% this. Although you need to be careful with your aim to prevent nuking the Roomba, I would definitely use a sprayer to teach the kitties a lesson.
As far as putting a "garage" over the thing, I'd be careful as to what you use. I have a 675, and it sometimes goes stupid when it's trying to dock because of where the base is located; between the kitchen trashcan and a cabinet. When the Roomba is trying to locate the dock, it can't see the IR signal that the dock uses to guide it in, as it's blinded from the sides due to obstructions. Assuming you don't have a model with the self emptying bins, I'd buy one of those stainless steel wire kitchen racks with the narrow legs, and set the base far enough underneath it that you still have access to the dirt bin, but far enough underneath that the cats can't easily get to the top of the robot. Depending on the model of the rack, the shelves have adjustable heights, so it should be fairly straightforward. Use a bit of duct tape or double sided sticky foam tape on the bottom of the base to keep it in place on the floor, too.
TL;DR Buy this and put it over the base: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0A4B9M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_V54WCN2592SKQT1KEHCB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I bought the cheapest knock-off bags I could find on Amazon and I have absolutely no complaints.
Yes, the type for use with pencils. Like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Ticonderoga-Carnation-Erasers-Medium-38943/dp/B00FXCZP5U/
I just poured 2 gallons of distilled water and the entire bottle of roomba solution into this dispenser. That way, I didn't have to worry about measuring the capful out everytime.
Be careful with this particular dispenser, as our first one was faulty and leaked just below the handle.
Seconding the Clean Base recommendation, it is totally worth it!
Another option is the Amazon exclusive i6+. It is basically like an i7+, but without a filter if I understood correctly, being a few quid cheaper:
https://www.amazon.com/iRobot-Automatic-Disposal-Empties-Allergens-Connected/dp/B085D45SZF/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=roomba+i6%2B&qid=1614363941&sr=8-3

Boom! $499 with a $60 off coupon so you should be at about $500 exactly after tax! I have the s6 maxV and it is GREAT!
First thank you for taking the time to write this very thoughtful response. As much as I love Reddit sometimes like with all things the negative stuff tends to float to the surface. It sounds like the Roomba does as advertised but requires a tweak or two for every home design and situation.
This is the one correct.
iRobot Roomba s9+ (9550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal- Empties itself, Wi-Fi Connected, Smart Mapping, Powerful Suction, Anti-Allergen System, Corners & Edges, Ideal for Pet Hair, black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXM2V6X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_cU63FbJDMC0VG
I have the i7+ ( which is on sale at Amazon again) and it's pretty great. I have half wood/tile and half carpet. It does a great job on the carpet and a decent job on the hard surfaces. I think the roborock might be the better choice for your needs since it has mopping functionality and you said the bin isn't a necessity. That's also currently on sale.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084Z5P2BX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_dlT1_e8O2Fb896JHVH
Ridiculous deal. This one doesn't have the mop/no mop zones... But it's still a great robot.
You could get thiskit to renew the rollers and filters. Together with a new battery you will have your new digital pet:)
no robot with a roller brush is tangle free.
(neither is any regular vacuum).
the only ones that won't wrap around are the 'tangle free' robots. These replace the roller with an open suction port. This is great for long hair on tile and wood floors, but not great for carpet. That's why they aren't popular, and that's only available on low cost robots like:
https://www.amazon.com/ILIFE-Water-Tank-V8s-pro-dp-B072KNGV1K/dp/B072KNGV1K
so it's probably just better to deal with the hair...get a tool like this:
https://irobot.usa.roboticscorpltd.com/irobot-roomba-brush-cleaning-tool-81005.html
or just cut it with a scissors once in a while.
I say spend the money on genuine filters. I tried the generic replacement kit off Amazon and the rollers were too long and the machine made an awful clicking noise probably grinding the motor gears. When I inspected the filter after a few days I noticed there was dirt/dust covering the grill on the motor and on the fan part itself. I live in NC with 3 black labs who track in a bunch of clay-soil and my i7+ is a GODSEND for controlling hair/dirt. I say for an investment like a $600-800 vacuum spend the extra upkeep costs to maintain it 👍🏻
this is the kit I bought
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SH71N9P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
the easiest way is to not worry about cleaning under the sofa :-)
It might be more stable to replace all the legs instead of adding a riser
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083JVD1CJ
but if it doesn't move around too much, these would be easy

After trying another brand and having it last less than a day 2 different times, I have been extremely happy with this one I bought over a year ago.
> if it is mostly tile I would definitely take a look at the braava jet.
I'm in the market for a roomba or something similar. This is the first I've heard about the Braava Jet, but I haven't done a ton of research. I saw one on Amazon for $240 (the 380t model).
We've got dogs that shed, our main floor where this would be used is tile and hardwood (except two bedrooms that are carpeted, remaining bedrooms / rooms are hardwood).
What would you suggest for someone looking to clean up the dog hair and would prefer something that could do a "mid-week" mopping? (I'm expecting that I'll still have to mop the tile by hand once a week, unless they're that good).
NOTE: I'd rather get something that works great on the hardwood / tile, even if it means skipping the two carpeted rooms.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Recently I found less costly replacement bags for my roomba i7 plus, $14.99 for 6 bags, sold by a brand called Volca Spares. This is the best price I can find on Amazon and Google as of yet. You could buy on their website or Amazon.
Clearly these are third party products, but I don't mind because of the price. You do the math. If you dispose of it once a week, it would cost you about $272 per year for genuine bags!!!!! If you use these cheaper bags, it would cost you at only about $120 per year.
Enjoy it and you're welcome.
I think it's a new Roomba, the S9 (AKA 9150). Before it was taken down, there was a video online that showed a new feature - "Imprint Link". It showed the Roomba S9 "talking to" a Braava Jet M6; the Roomba finished vacuuming a room, told the Braava it was done, and then the Braava started mopping the room.

As for the Roomba S9 itself, I don't know what's different, except that it's no longer round; it's shaped like a capital "D" with the flat surface at the front. Combined with a new spinning edge brush, it's supposed to do a better job of getting into corners.
Edit - I forgot that the video also showed the Roomba S9 docking with a clean base, similar (or identical?) to what the i7+ uses.
Edit again - I searched for "Roomba S9" and found an Amazon link to it. The link is broken now, but I could pull up a copy of the Amazon listing that Google had cached.
I've only had my i7+ for a few months, and have had to replace the rollers twice. The first time we contacted Roomba for a replacement, which they sent for free, but we had to return the damaged rollers. The second time I just didn't want to go through the hassle, and just ordered some from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NTBG7R4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My roomba was doing the same thing. Tried multiple barriers under the couches in an attempt to stop him, which failed. So I decided he’s not winning - if I can’t block him, I’ll just make it easier to get under there. Found some bed risers to elevate my couches with matching legs. Not pretty, but it does the job.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07T8LM78C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_GIvCFbE99A6JG
I haven't but my floors are darker in color and don't really show much streaks anyways so I may not be the best test case.
I have been using the iRobot solution, but after my current supply runs out I think I might switch.
The tank is small and mixing is a pain so I bought something like this and just fill from there.
i would 'hold out' for a really good deal - i bought refurb 690s for about $130 (this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRT2B3P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - so i have a total of 4 running every day in my 1700 sqft. home and don't have pets - i run one downstairs at 6am while i'm just waking up - one runs at 10am upstairs while i am working the other 2 run at 2pm downstairs and 4pm upstairs - because, why not. but if you have a budget of 500 - get 2 600 series - and run them while you are out of the house "back to back" (just make sure to get the wifi versions that you should be able to control from anywhere - which the 690 is) my 2 other 600s are NOT wifi, but they are schedulers.
i have a ROOMBA topic alert set at slickdeals.com so i get a popup on my phone with their app if something hits - and the roombas usually sell out pretty quick once they are posted!
EDITING TO ADD....i got mine from the amazon refurb and they have the "newer model" for $181 with free prime shipping - for your budget you could get 2 of these and still have a few bucks left over! https://www.amazon.com/iRobot-Roomba-675-Connectivity-Carpets-dp-B07DL4QY5V/dp/B07DL4QY5V/ref=dp_ob_title_home
I had to screw some of these under the couch edge:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008LTY1NO
about an inch from the edge. Then the robot bumps into them and turns around without getting wedged.
Not sure how to do what you want. But I'm getting this for my niece who had fun watching my parents' roomba. https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Laugh-Learn-Crawl-After-Musical/dp/B07X2TZF77
My sister is going to hate me. muahaha
Was this what you were bummed about missing?
https://www.amazon.com/iRobot-Automatic-Disposal-Connected-Anti-Allergen/dp/B07QXM2V6X
Looks like it is back at $799, but also has an additional $119.85 off in the cart.
I use these on all the area rugs and floor mats throughout the house. Have had them for 2 years with no issues. Our rugs stay firmly in place on top of laminate flooring.
That's interesting they are selling both. Originally the black M6 was part of a package iRobot offered with the S9+ and a bundle. The black M6 was not offered separately.
I would save the $50 and spend it on a couple of packs of reusable pads. They last a good long time so long as you air dry them to keep the plastic from warping over time.
Regarding iFixit I don’t remember, but CS for sure had 6800 mAh capacity (out of stock on Amazon now). Please note in that thread I mentioned that I personally bought Green Cell battery (since it’s available in Poland where I live), although I strongly believe all these IFIXIT/CS/GC batteries are from the same production line. ;)
Used to have the same issue with earlier model, before No Code was a thing... Hope you fix it !
If you like this subject as much as we do, check the article we wrote about, hope it will make you like it even more :)
https://zenkit.com/en/blog/what-is-no-code-a-guide/
brand is steffensmeier. It is very fluffy though! It no longer fills the room with fluff, but the Roomba is almost always full after one run because of it.
I bought this and it seems to be working very well. Very sticky too.
I'm not sure if these are the same on the S9's but they worked on the i7's and its much cheaper. Not too hard to replace.
Oh - Ok maybe not. I am fake news.
I had an international address selected and so weirdly this link says $702 for me if shipping internationally, but when I switch address back to the USA it goes up to $735…
That’s strange.
$735 is a fine price, it will usually get cheaper during sales, I think 699 is the lowest US price I’ve seen recently so probably not worth waiting to save $40.
It's not ideal, but these will work: https://www.amazon.com/iRobot-Virtual-Barrier-2-Pack-Accessories/dp/B00GLHL55K/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2N8Z1OEMFL0T5&keywords=virtual%2Bwall&qid=1658953186&sprefix=virtual%2Bwall%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-3&th=1
You might have to use two of them to properly block it off, though.
At a guess I think you’d probably need a new cleaning head assembly, however it may be worth double checking with irobot support for advice before guessing and buying any more parts.
Even though if well out of warranty and 2nd hand they’re usually pretty helpful and managed timo get me to 12 years service from my 530 model before I upgraded to a J7 last year.
Ok, according to irobot of you link to IfThisThenThat the Roomba will fire a mission complete event that you should then be able to use to turn the lights off. I don't know how much of this can be routed through Alexa.
I purchased these recently. They seem to be working ok. The connection is different than what iRobot designed but they work.
KGC 10 Pack Vacuum Bags... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TJ1J6WN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I used some strong magnets like these. Keeps the robot off, doesn't look awful, and can be easily removed when needed without any damage.
Tires for IROBOT ROOMBA Wheels... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084QBN5DN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have the s9+ (read the reviews on getting tires off)! I personally used googone and it worked like a charm. I sprayed the tire then shoved a butter knife under and lifted the glued area. You end up “ripping” the tires off. When you put the new ones on, you basically push the tire down as far as it will go and wedge the tire through a small space and slowly thread it on.
Husband and I did it together which made it very manageable. But read the reviews on Amazon for sure!!
They get gross and wear out. My i8+ broke one off after just over a year. Just get their kit from amazon, it has enough parts to keep it running every day for a year. They also sell clean base bags.
A whole $50 a year keeps my i8 running like new every single day.
Roombas are IFTTT enabled, you can start the Roomba (or m6 mop) to clean the whole house, or just a room (if you have a room enabled Roomba).
Then you can use any trigger supported by IFTTT (there are a lot). For example there is the WeMo wall switch https://ifttt.com/wemo_light_switch
I use one of these in a 980, so should work for you.

If you’ve got a bot older than the j7, you can get a virtual barrier. They can be set to “wall” which is a straight line (good for doorways) or “spot” which is a spherical area (for under your desk).

Try these m…they work well for me.
Under my Lazyboy dual power reclining sofa I use these to raise it to just the right height. 1 pack covers the 8 supports under your couch.
They work well for me and ‘Tango’ doesn’t get stuck underneath the back of the recliners anymore!
If you want to raise it higher you can buy a second pack.

> secure nail to baseboard
How about "secure nail cables over baseboard", and "secure cables across floor" in particular this one looks promising for carpet --
I use the Bissell Spinwave concentrate. Works fine for me. I mix it just like it was the iRobot stuff.

Given all that, I would try replacing the battery. This one (not lithium) works ok for my 980:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B078XNPTXR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You are running the bot very frequently over a large area and in this scenario, the treads can wear quickly.
These treads should work and don't seem to have many bad reviews: https://www.amazon.com/IROBOT-Anti-Slip-Replacement-Traction-Efficiency/dp/B08PTVBH11/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2WQFZIGG5OA6Y&keywords=roomba+tread&qid=1652391636&sprefix=roomba+tread%2Caps%2C89&sr=8-3
I have no idea if there are long term consequences to using this but I’ve been experimenting with Method floor cleaner for the last three months and I’ve been happy. The ratio to water is about 1:10 so it is quite diluted but still leaves the floors feeling nice, smells good, and so far the robot has had no issues with slipping or docking. The solution sprays evenly and doesn’t foam up which was a concern.
I got my m6 for a good price used so I’m less concerned about using non-approved solutions.
The biggest advantage the j7 seems to have is navigation and obstacle avoidance due to the camera and additional layers of ‘learning’ the visual sensor opens up to the robot.
In terms of raw cleaning performance the i7 and j7 seem to be a close match (if not identical).
If you have pets, young kids, or are just terrible with cable management the j7 might be worth it.
There is a pretty good deal right now on Amazon for j7+ ($599)
I got the Virtual Wall Barriers Dual Mode ((2-pack) which works great to keep my i3+ from entering the bathroom and running into my dog’s water & food bowls.

This is the first replenishment kit that I've bought for my S9 since getting it and upon looking at the rollers they are designed differently and feel a bit looser in the robot than the ones it came with.
I bought the kit from Amazon from what looks like a seller selling authentic parts. The iRobot box it came in was pretty damaged though.
It may just be that they're older stock compared to what came in my relatively new S9.
I ordered from Amazon's listing here, and made sure the listing had the item as "Sold by Amazon", which according to iRobot, is an authorized reseller, so Amazon should not be selling counterfeit / knockoff iRobot products when the product is listed as "Sold by Amazon".
I use these letter trays for my cat's water fountains. Easy to clean and contains water spills.
I also got simliar trays, a bit more shallow, from Michael's. I think those were kid's finger paint trays which also work well with our roombas.

No longer available, but you get the idea... this always works for my Roomba.
I alternate between use about 1 tsp of Hertel cleaner for one cycle and vinegar for the other and it works beautifully. Having a dog I find I need the cleaner to help with the dirt.

We bought these for now to try them out, works ok so far, occasionally they get pulled up but then we just push them back down. There has been some very slight fraying on the corners but nothing too noticeable, and I’m a picky person.
Do not know if anyone is looking at this old post but here is a larger battery for the i7 https://www.amazon.com/Battery-5200mAh-Replacement-e515020-e515840/dp/B08QMNVH3H/ref=sr\_1\_44?crid=O90HEI6Z71C&keywords=roomba+i7+battery+upgrade&qid=1647786129&sprefix=roomba+i7+batery%2Caps%2C1047&sr=8-44
Just an update. It did end up being the wheels.
I bought the following and they work great: https://www.amazon.com/Wheels-IROBOT-Anti-Slip-Adhesion-Assembly/dp/B084QBN5DN/ref=sr_1_14?crid=2EJIX53S6QYB6&keywords=irobot+wheels&qid=1647648126&sprefix=irobot+wheel%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-14

I know your pain OP. iRobot ended up sending me a brand new bot instead of wheels (doesn’t sound wise, but whatever you want boss), and now Newet (the new one) is having same issue as Oldie (the old one). When it comes to wheels, I have seen some on Amazon which I’ll post a link too for ya, but until they arrive I’m gunna add the lowest grade sandpaper to the base to give the wheels traction until the new arrive.
I know this probably want the most helpful, but I’ll try and keep you in the loop with my experiment.

just something you might find helpful ... Joe Dirt (my downstairs Roomba) was constantly getting stuck under the dishwasher, behind the recliner.
I wound up purchasing a couple of draft barriers to place in those spaces, worked like a charm.
You could try rug tape to adhere the rug to the floor so that the vacuum can no longer suck the rug in.
I use this pack from Amazon. I usually just bang the filter around and then vacuum it as well. But a fresh filter is better.
you can add bumpers to that spot on the chair so the robot's bumper sensor activates and avoids the low spot

Of course you have to make the screw go through the fabric into the wood frame
if you put it back an inch or so, it won't be too noticeable.
if it was old when you stored it, it's probably done for

How do you clean the tanks? They have one tiny inlet or outlet and seemingly no way to open it up to let it dry out quickly. Mine is sitting in the garage unused I have reverted back to a regular laminate floor mop.

I've used aftermarket batteries in my Roombas for years. Last one I bought that I've been using in a 980 for about two years:

I only have one floor and the basement. Overall we keep a pretty clean house. We vacuum certain rooms daily and do a deep clean once every two weeks. Business was very good for us in 2021 so we splurged on a J7+. It has gotten great reviews as an all-rounder robot vacuum. It's not the best at any one task, but combined is in the Top 5. The Roborock S6 MaxV seems to be the top choice, but we don't need a combo vacuum/mop and really want a self-emptying vacuum. Also, the LIDAR means it won't fit under my couch or dresser.
I worry that the 6800mAh battery will make it less efficient since it's significantly heavier. No telling if the added weight will have a negative long-term effect on the motor and wheel bearings. This is the battery that was shown in the video I watched:

Amazon is always good when it comes to returns.
As I said, most of the time it'll only be 3 rooms on a daily basis, so if it has to recharge once during a whole house clean we'll just be sure to do it when we'll be out for a while. My dogs get kenneled when we're out anyway, so no worry about my female trying to attack it (she lunges at my upright all the time). I know the J7+ isn't great at long hair, but both my dogs have short-ish hair and neither my wife nor I have long hair, so no worries there.
I just hope I made a good purchase. I spent $500 on a Dyson years ago and it didn't last. The $60 Bissel I have now is the best vacuum I've ever owned.
Question: Once the smart map is made I know you can edit rooms, but can you manually edit the walls? There aren't any recent videos online about the app itself that I've seen yet so I don't know what updates have been done.
Maybe get a soft bumper? There are lots of options but I ended up with this one for my 980 and it worked pretty well. No more black streaks. Bumping still happened but it was quieter.
After a while the bumper started to wear down and that would leave streaks but they were easier to get off the wall than the plastic scuffing. I replaced it when it did that and was good for about another year.

I have an S9 and honestly haven't seen much different between it and the 980 with bumping. It seems to scuff up the walls a bit less but still does.
It has a mode called careful drive I haven't bothered to turn on yet because it doesn't bother me. It might be helpful in your situation but I can't say for sure.
The J series might solve more of this than the S9 for ya. I don't have one so I can't say.
Is this the stuff that people are using? Never heard of it before.
How do people go on with part tile and part wood floors? Just use this?
This is one that works well in my 5xx, 6xx and 9xx models. I can't imagine that it wouldn't work in yours as they are pretty standard.
