No personal experience but these seem to be a decent low budget option. But like most things in life, you get what you pay for.
I’ve had a few different brands that never ended up working longterm, especially on the very cold days that I needed them. I swapped to Hestra 3-finger mittens with “Super Hand Warmers” and haven’t looked back. No batteries, etc.
Not sure what type of ski book you're looking for, but this one about ski history and modern ski subculture might hit the spot. https://www.amazon.com/Powder-Days-Towns-Future-Chasing-ebook/dp/B08QZDGVVM
Alta Wireless Bluetooth Helmet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H7X814B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I was recommended these, got them and was like “audio quality sucks” so I went back to my WIRED outdoor tech chips. Then I got the outdoor tech 3.0 chips ($130) and was like “this audio quality sucks too” so then I did a side by side comparison of the OT 3.0 wireless chips and the OT WIRED chips, and realized they are the same audio quality, so nothing matters. Just having music/phone in your helmet is such a pleasure, you don’t notice the quality in the moment.
If you have a helmet, these work awesome.

The best in-helmet headphones that I've found for the price are the Alta headphones from Wildhorn. $100 and they work as good as the bigger names.
Hestra Heil Mitt, no questions. I can only wear these on the coldest powder days as my hands overheat and I take them off to cool down on the lift. I recommend this one

Since you are close to the hill, go with regular shoes and store them there, it also has a strap to carry the skis
My girlfriend, mom, and sister all use the Wildhorn Roca on Amazon. It's a great budget-friendly option ($65) with different lens choices. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G3K98G6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I just ordered the alta wireless bluetooth helmet speakers from amazon. They are half the price of the outdoor tech Bluetooth so hopefully they aren’t total garbage https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H7X814B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iQbnCbDZRXPTK
My $14 solution to that exact same problem are fleece sweatpants pants I bought off of amazon and cut the ankle cuffs off of https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M59AAYU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Mi8HDb43AATAK
The regular base layers go underneath.
These gloves are great for $30. Kinco 901T-M-1 Premium grain & suede pigskin, Heatkeep lining, extra-strong Draylon thread, Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for Leather included, Size: M https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AT2XTLU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_aWtiCbDFCTC39
I got a pair of these.

And one of these.
And it works great! It’s not super loud. But it’s totally pound enough. I toss that rig in my motorcycle helmet in the warmer months too. Best 25$ I have ever spent.
My mom has a set and honestly it's changed her world. She enjoys skiing so much more now. I'm not sure what the brand is but I can find out!! ...also some dude on the mountain this past weekend had these http://www.amazon.com/Lenz-Products-Unisex-Lithium-Pack/dp/B00MII6HHC and he RAVED about them. Said they were awesome. Obvious advantage here is that they're not limited to ski boots and can be used for whatever else... you know, if your mom is a big duck hunter or something. ;)
Regardless, I sure wish I had some when it was -5 the other day!
