Thanks.
I used Scribus. Not sure if I used it very well seeing as I was pretty much teaching myself as I went -- this is the first time I've made something like this -- but it seemed to get the job done.
They're not Modiphius books, but rather just general Star Trek reference books. I have both and they're excellent. Starcharts is out of print though (I think), so might be pretty expensive.

My favorite background noise source for pretty much all purposes is mynoise.net. All their generators are adjustable, so you can tune the sounds to fit your needs. They have a spaceship noises generator, and a whole bunch of other mysterious/techno/space-y sounding options. It's harder to find battle-appropriate sounds on the site; probably the "cinematic east" generator is the best bet (turning up the drums over some of the spaceship noises sounds cool to me)
It’s not bad - I promise. There’s not a ton of number crunch and I promise to make any of it float by with ease. I’ve got loads of cheat sheets and experience as a GM with this system. Plus, the other 3 crew members are fun!

And thanks so much for reaching out!
You might be aware already, but the Shackleton Expanse and Starbase 364 Narendra Station are both non-canon and were added by Modiphius to create new gameplay settings. If your group wants to stick as closely to canon as possible, then you'll want the maps from this book: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Stellar-Cartography-Starfleet/dp/1477805974
It has an updated version of the map from Star Charts Alpha & Beta Quadrant map, which contains a few errors as it was released in the middle of Enterprise's run. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a scanned version online anywhere I can find.
