As everyone else said, the cat is a terrible idea. Don't do that, for both your sake and the cat's.
Otherwise, you may know that the back of an Outback (a 2019, at least) with the back seat folded down is exactly the size of a twin mattress. I have a $90 mattress from IKEA that I use for camping. If I were going to live in it I might consider getting a better one.
Power: I have a Jackery Power Station that charges from the car (when it's driving) or from solar, which I use for power when the car is off.
Keeping cool: Stretchy elastic screens that I put over the rear-door windows so that I can open those windows and not let the bugs in. Something to block the other windows to keep the sun out; I use reflective bubble wrap insulation stuff that I cannibalized from a "disposable" cooler bag, backed with cardboard.
As weird as this sounds, get a doormat or something to step on outside the car, so that you can avoid tracking the outdoors into your bed.
I got an older model of this from Costco: Type S AC56789-AM | 400A Peak |10000mAh Winplus Jump Starter Portable Car Jump Starter | UL Listed | 12V Lithium Battery Booster Power Pack with Type-C USB-C Port & Built-in LED Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0839FK2HL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9D9HAVCQG41XV34PDRC5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1.
I’ve used it to jump my wife’s car about a dozen times (covid=no driving) with no issues. She was skeptical about the battery pack instead of traditional jumper cables, but is a believer now. Cannot beat the convenience, peace of mind, and reliability.
Sleeping pad I’ve been using.
I have used the universal kayak racks for 30 bucks on Amazon and I have also just laid it across the bar. Both work fine. The OB has flat bars though and the bought racks have a round bracket but just tightening them down really made it secure. I have not used them since they got replaced (a tree ripped them off during the hurricanes) but even when they were used, they held up to some pretty rigorous kayak hauling.

I grabbed a set of these on Amazon - shows currently unavailable but there are a ton of similar products out there. They work great! Zero condensation inside the car, and you can put your window at whatever level you want. Big game changer for me when car camping.
Your best bet might be the SSD light bar and a some PIAA or Hella driving/combo lights (or 2 combos and 2 spots depending on how much light you need). You can either run the wiring through a rubber grommet in the firewall or look into something like the Trigger controller so you don't have to worry about running anything into the cabin.
I went with the Z6 from the same company that you linked to. Just make sure to get the version that fits the tire size you're running. I purchased dedicated snow tires for winter, but have these just in case there is a need for something more and for those times when checkpoints at least require you to be carrying chains.
Heads up. I had watched countless wrappping videos and instructions. I thought the difficulty I had was only due to the curves on the Outback's hood, but this post in r/CarWraps tells me this vvivid brand is knows to be more difficult.

A lot depends on your requirements. Front & rear? Parking? I use a Viofo A119 v3 w/ a Dongar mirror tap as I don’t need parking & just have one in front. Wife got me this a few months back, and it has worked near flawlessly for wireless Android Auto. Annoying as fuck to have to buy something to achieve it rather than the car coming with the feature, but....
also, I highly recommend getting a short, right angle USB extender so you can clear up the center console. I have mind hiding in the pocket on the passenger side of the console.

I drive a 2011 3.6. Head gasket went, after I had rebuild entire suspension. Coolant in oil, plus oil burn. Repair cost was more than engine swap. I am on my second round of Blue Devil Head gasket sealer: https://www.amazon.com/BlueDevil-Head-Gasket-Sealer-ounce/dp/B000NOO798
First round lasted me 20k miles, 1 1/2 years. I'm 15k (1year) into my second round which I did as a precaution. I still burn oil but it's minimal. Thought i was burning coolant, but i was a minor leak because I didn't torque the thermostat bolt when I reassembled.
Follow the directions on the bottle. Don't skip any steps.
The way i see it, I got 45k miles for $100. Car has 175k now. I have a used engine ready (68k) and a mechanic waiting do the work, but I'll wait til this engine fails.
The only way to stop it is by inserting fake seatbelt buckles to engage the sensor.

I have them inside thegrill of my F150, but made sure to keep them low.
I guess maybe it is just me being an old guy, but the 'new' trend to square and rectangular aux and fog lights is something I never took to - granted the stock fogs are just that - I was thinking more like the old-fashioned Hella / PIA round fogs. I don't want to add extra bull or light bars to the Outback. I like the cleaner, simple look.
I have a Roofnest Sparrow and absolutely love it - been across the country twice in it. The first time was for 3 weeks, largely spending time camping along rivers and other random locations. Second time I was rushing across the country and finally tried it at state rest stops & didn't have a single issue with cops. Also stayed at a few truck stops, again no issues. Don't overstay your welcome and you'll be fine.
If you think you'll actually use it, buy one. I don't take ever take mine off and I even use it when I go out of town to stay with friends or family, just parked in the driveway.

If you do this a lot, buy a new ladder.
These are ridiculously priced at Amazon right now. I paid $120 through them back in 2019. It's a nice ladder.
Check out r/dashcam this thread specifically has a recommendation list
I'm currently using this BlackVue on a 2019 Forester and I like it so far. The install was pretty straightforward but I didn't hardwire it. It does have a parking mode if you hardwire it. I've found the connection speed that's built in fine for watching the lower resolution video and the download speed isn't bad for pulling video I want stored locally or saved.
We bought some generic ones from Amazon similar to these. We've used them a few times without issues (just around town, not highway speeds).

For the base it’s just 2” square aluminum stock. Cheapest place to find that would be your local metal works place or maybe welding supplies. Used the same tie down bolts that were already on there and drilled holes accordingly. I ripped a part off of this rack system. I got mine used off Amazon for $35 but there’s one on there right now for $50. Then I bought the accompanying cross bars for it. However, what I really like about these mounts is you can use just about any square or round bar you can find for it. Only other thing I picked up was a can of black spray paint and some nuts and bolts to attach the mounts to the square stock.
An even cheaper way you could just get the square bars and directly attach them to the square stock.

Quality was good. I would say you should also have an Xcato Knife and some small vinyl tools. For the tow hook covers you just need vinyl and a scissor. I any case I would recommend a heat gun over a hair dryer.
Used all summer, every weekend for two kayaks.
Can't program. Great scanner for reading codes, reseting them, and can read live data (seems to have a slight delay?).

I will try to experiment tonight. The internal rear (roof) light should be able to be shut off with the switch next to it. The side mirrors may be an issue - I have them and I hate them as they point too high and are too glaring when Im in the car, so I have put those little dark dimming dots over them, and you could layer them to create even more dimming. They have never fallen off in a year of a lot of driving.
I will try to check things with my car tonight.
Good point I forgot about it.
The extension I use is activeobd tq (old) and it’s 2007 or newer it seems.
Regardless the basic stuff is really neat, especially mpg which will be useful to learn to drive more efficiently.
You car has separate high and low beams but the bulb types are H7 and 9005
Getting at them is a little tricky, technically you are supposed to take the bumper off and remove the headlight assemblies. But the easy way is to pull the push clip out where the bumper meets the fender and them pull the fender liner away from the bumper. It's tucked in behind the bumper so be careful then. You can get to the back of the headlight, there is a grey cap, it turns out counter clock wise about a quarter turn, I usually push it with a screw driver from the top/under the hood. Pay attention to the orientation it will only fit that way. Silicone spray on the rubber seal makes it alot easier to put back on. The high beams can be reached from under the hood, the airscoop is in the way on the passenger side but that's just couple of push clips.
Just make sure to not touch the glass of the bulbs
These work best for us. It allows you to brush dog hair into clumps to then be vacuumed more easily. There is a little elbow grease involved. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0042B4B3U/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_fabc_5cMZFbSRD1QMB
I have this one - it was $40. Has stayed on my 2013OB through 2 Midwest winters, no rust, we use it weekly to transport bikes and it works great. Why do people pay lots of $ for bike racks?
Edited to add link, duh District https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Sports-Deluxe-2-Bike-Trunk/dp/B00TRTSAZM/ref=dp_ob_title_hi
Have a 2020 Outback I have 4 bikes I wanted to be able to bring to the beech 20 miles away. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year I wanted to be able to bring to a weekend getaway maybe 2 times a year
Did a bit of research and figured out a 2” hitch would be best no matter the direction I go as there are more options There were a lot of install issues with the OEM bumper even when done at a dealer. The OEM looked best and maintained the angle of departure not that I needed that. I decided on a Curt hitch and did it myself. Took about 30 minutes and minimal cut
Looked around for a good deal on Craigslist, eBay, and Google Marketplace. Didn’t find many that were a good deal.
Waited and Found a good deal on a 4 four bike hitch rack that folded down for access to the back hatch (camel camel camel is a good resource for historical pricing and alerts) https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Sports-4-Bike-Hitch-Racks/dp/B07Q62NF5P
Assembly was easy, install on the Outback was easy as well. When installed and empty it is super easy to lower to access the hatch. However when loaded with bikes, it is pretty tough to lower and get back into upright position.
When loaded, I feel confident the bikes are secure. Build quality is good. I bought extension/adapter bars for 3 of the bikes so they can mount easier
Yeah that rust bubble in the second photo worries me. Might be better off getting the whole top repainted. Which sucks because those places don't always do the best job. You could find somewhere who will do it better and since it's just the roof it shouldn't be too bad. It won't be cheap but it should be less than $500.
Next time make sure to get those addressed right away. A little tube of touch up paint and a cheap dropper from amazon can get you great results.

I bought the back up cam that was suggested with my head unit.
I can't help you with a backup camera install, but I did it on a 2002 Forester last year and it was super straight forward.
I used the Sony XAVAX1000, plus a Subaru Wiring harness adapter (don't cut the original harness, seriously) I bought on Amazon.
Wired it all up and it worked perfectly. Took like an hour and a half. Very painless install.
I also installed a dash cam this week. Got this one and hardwired it into the home link connector in the map lights. Loving the display so far
Here's the exact ones I bought. I don't know if the black rhinos were specifically designed to work around the brake caliper, but I've had no issues. You are the 3rd person I've heard of who's said that 15 inch rims won't clear the calipers so I'm curious as to where that comes from. I feel like theres gotta be some merit to it somewhere. Gonna fully admit that didn't do a lot of research on these wheels before I bought them, I just knew they would fit the bolt pattern and I figured I'd go from there.
I've had trim out a bit of plastic and grind down some metal to make them fit, so there's been that. But, like I mentioned before, the do clear the brake caliper.
Also how have your CVs been holding up? Do you have a subframe drop kit? What kind of springs and struts are you running?
I was told to not lift about 2 inches because it would just kill my CVs, but nobody mentioned a subframe drop kit.
Also, your ride is sick. Do you have any more pictures?
I recently bought a roll of upholstery foam to touch up my sofa cushions. In the reviews for the foam a lot of reviewers were using it to craft mattresses for car camping. It is super comfortable and easy to work with- just cut it with an electric knife.

This happened to my Forester. A good temp fix is to get Some of this tape from Amazon
I ended up buying a used seat from a junkyard, it was really cheap (like $60) and it's just four bolts and a wiring connector to remove it from the car. You can replace the seat in about 20 minutes.
Save yourself the extra cash and buy a tri fold foam mattress like the Miliard on Amazon. I have one for my outback and it fits well with maybe an inch gap on the sides and also folds easier. It's well worth the $100 for the comfort over something like an air mattress.

Honestly not worth having to worry about the port breaking your phone incase someone mistakenly jerks it or pushes on it.
I got this for my 2017 and is much better than the TechMatte one as the screw for it would block the screen a bit.
Currently if I have the phone mounted it still blocks the view but I can remove it for complete visibility.
Did you just bought the 2018?
I have weathertechs in an older Subaru. Love em, but the edges don't quite meet the floor/rug so stuff gets in between and under. Also, they slide like HELL. I ended up getting these Eagle Klaw things to keep the mats in place. And they don't leak where I had to punch a hole.
I use hood loops which tuck away when not in use. If the straps are tight, they do not rub on the hood.

In the back, I secure to the tow hook that is stored next to your spare tire.
Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. I have had one of these vent mounts in my Altima for years. I wasn't expecting it to work in my Outback.
I picked up my Outback last weekend and gave it a try and it works well. I have it all the way to the right of the center-right vent. Doesn't obstruct the touch-screen at all.
I have this CD insert holder. I was careful to make sure to not "tighten" it too much and expand the CD slot. The biggest drawback is that it does obstruct the viewscreen a bit.

Is that the price for the lifetime brake service (as in pay once and whatever happens after that they are responsible for)? Are your rear brakes locked\smoking\overheating? I've had the caliper bracket sieze on me in a few cars but have never needed the actual caliper replaced, let alone a set. I usually get all my part numbers together and grab everything from Amazon. My last daily driver (R51 Pathfinder) had full kits front and rear rotors and pads available from $350 up and that is with EBC (all my motorcycles game with them as OE) pads and rotors. I just did a quick search and found this kit, fresh fronts and rears for under $250. IMO get a spare pair of rotors that way when the next set of pads go on you can have the others freshly milled and ready to go with a perfectly smooth surface. It saves a bit of time (your's and who ever you would borrow a car from otherwise.) This is if you want to give it a shot and doing it yourself. When/If your rotors don't want to come off you will want/need: M8x1.25 bolts, at least 2. the easiest way to remove a stubborn Subaru rotor
