If I understand correctly, the timestamps used by Google Cache are not completely accurate.
For example:
> Google tries to estimate the the publication date based on meta-data and other features of the page such as dates in the content, title and URL. The date Google first indexed the page is just one of the things that Google can use to estimate the publication date. (source)
> This is not 100% new, as we know Google said they do not update the cache date on each crawl. John Mueller said back then, "In general, we do not always update the cached page every time that we crawl a page." He added, that this is especially the case "when the page does not significantly change, we may opt to just keeping the old date on it." (source)
EDIT: To clarify, if I'm understanding correctly, Google cached the page at the time listed but then crawled the page again shortly after the episode ended. The timestamp was not changed since not much changed besides the poem added to the bottom of the page.
Duuuuude. Where have you been? Amazon page.
No because you don't think surrealism was an influence on Lynch and you don't think he's aware of Breton's manifesto? He clearly is aware of it and has talked about surrealism (inside of his works and outside of them) his whole career.

Where are you located? USA?
If so, it's $3.99 to rent through Amazon and it's in HD. It's also streaming on Showtime.
No one explaining it here will do it justice.
Definitely my favorite of the Twin Peaks books. Secret History is a bit too lore-dumpy and Cooper's Biography is a bit too close to internet fanfiction for my taste, but the Secret Diary is not only well written and fits Laura's story well, but it's a really heartbreaking insight to her life the same way that FWWM was.
In case you didn't know, there's also an audiobook narrated by Sheryl Lee herself! Absolutely worth a listen, she does a fantastic job as always.
I got The Entire Mystery (US) on blu-ray last month. Just looked and its still available from amazon for about $30.
I was Log Lady at my TP-themed Zoom birthday party this year! I found these glasses on Amazon and they were perfect. Also my little dog wore an owl hoodie so she could attend as BOB in the form of an owl.
The book Dreamland on the shelf is about the opiate epidemic in America.. here's the amazon summary.
There is an android app, unfortunately because of the DRM it won't work with chromecast (???) and the app is incompatible with AndroidTV. So essentially unless you want to watch on your phone, or you use the Apple ecosystem it is garbage.

I'm very disappointed and will likely be cancelling in short order.

I started with Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and then moved on to Keys to Drawing. The first book provided the motivation and the second gave a bit more on how to actually draw. I've tried a few other things- cars, comic books, things like this! Whatever keeps me interested.
Give it a go! Nothing to lose except a couple of A4 sheets and a pencil.
yeah!
watched it shortly after The Return finished. It was available to stream for free on ShoutFactoryTV

Enjoyable. Charismatic lead. I could see it being quite an interesting premise for it's time.
Found there to be parallels with Twin Peaks in that a) it started out supposed to be a limited number of episodes, then got forced to stretch out, ultimately watering it down. (I didn't exactly care for the episodes where you could feel they were phoning it in.)
and
b) wild spectacle of a final episode. worth trudging through the latter half.
Thanks! I love the show most of all shows. But when rewatching there is a lot of skipping scenes because my mind is still kinda hooked on the mystery and investigation. I felt I had to make a cut that I could watch in one sitting. Splitting Season 1 and 2 into 3 parts. Here& here is the cut of Season 1 & Part 1 of Season 2.
Will only be available for a few days. Watch or DL.
Enjoy!
It says so in the official promotional description on Amazon.
>While The Secret History of Twin Peaks served to expand the mysteries of the town and place the unexplained phenomena that unfolded there into a vastly layered, wide-ranging history, Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier tells us what happened to key characters in the twenty-five years in between the events of the first series and the second, offering details and insights fans will be clamoring for. The novel also adds context and commentary to the strange and cosmic happenings of the new series. For fans around the world begging for more, Mark Frost’s final take laid out in this novel will be required reading.
I found it on Amazon Canada, but the price is off putting. https://www.amazon.ca/David-Lynch-presents-Dont-Know/dp/B00009B1RU/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1524678259&sr=8-10&keywords=i+don%27t+know+jack
I think that album is generally more inspired by older films like The Shinning (look at this key). But I guess it is a possibility that it has something to do with Twin Peaks.
With Now TV you can watch live tv as well. I have the entertainment package, and I watch the live channels all the time. In truth I haven't tested Sky Atlantic, but if I remember correctly it's included.
EDIT: You Can get NowTV pass without a sky subscription. http://www.nowtv.com/entertainment
With regard to her being sent to the earth inside of a golden sphere, I think there's more of a Taoism Yin/Yang metaphor going on. Yin is feminine energy and Yang is masculine energy. There's a bit of Yin in every Yang and a bit of Yang in every Yin. Day and night, good and evil, etc. Duality...all that fuckin' shit
I'm surprised there are no legal ways to stream it... if you're in the US or Canada, did you order the 'DVD' option from amazon? If so, that's probably why it was fucked up, it says it won't play in those places. I would think then the blu-ray option would work, but I can't speak from experience, maybe someone else here can...
My bet is recast. It's painful, but I don't think Lynch and Frost would have any trouble doing so. Speculation says Tim Roth, since nobody knew he was involved until they released the list. But thinking about it now, he's a bit too young, isn't he? Perhaps Richard Chamberlain, who was also a surprise.
Here's a complete list with faces http://list.ly/list/17BA-the-cast-of-twin-peaks-third-season
some of the hollywood classics that are probable/definite influences on Twin Peaks: Laura (1944), Vertigo, Carnival of Souls, Night of the Hunter
Others along the lines of what you're looking for: Repulsion, Possession (1981), 3 Women, Blow-Up, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Solaris (1972), L'Avventura, Dead Ringers, Pulse (2001), Double Life of Veronique, Last Year at Marienbad, Messiah of Evil (1973), Hour of the Wolf, Persona, Don't Look Now, Meshes of the Afternoon (def influence on Lynch, period), Brand Upon the Brain
If you're open to anime: Boogiepop Phantom, Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue
Great list on doppelgangers on mubi: https://mubi.com/lists/doppelgangers-twins-and-look-alikes
Maybe a riddle game in the style of her episode opening monologs? Also, there's at least one Log Lady recipe in here! https://www.amazon.com/Damn-Cherry-Lindsey-Bowden-author/dp/1784721905/ref=mp_s_a_1_1
Fire Walk With Me is on Amazon Instant Video, but the only way you're going to see "The Missing Pieces" is to pick up the Blu-ray box. It's well worth the price, in my opinion, as it has the entire series, the movie, and the extras all in one place.
My advice is, if you can, wait until The Return is finished and see what Showtime is doing with it on home video. The reason the prices are so high for the 10-disc set is because it is out of print, with the rights to the film and missing pieces going to Criterion and a big question mark on the rest. If you can't wait, however, just get the 10 disc set from Amazon UK - it's region free and much much cheaper than the US box. Same exact discs/layout as the US set - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Twin-Peaks-Collection-Kyle-MacLachlan/dp/B01GRU59XE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1501121792&sr=8-4&keywords=twin+peaks

This possibly isn't what you're looking for, but in terms of movement mechanics, check out Gravity Pull VR - it uses the phone's sensors to tell when the user is actually taking steps (on the spot) and that controls the movement - meaning that to run from DC the player would actually have to do the running for real and get tired for real.
Keep Fit With Coop, anyone?
EDIT - Also, this method of moving within the game means no controller is required, so people who just use Cardboard (like me) can play too :-)
Things can be similar without being the same.
Typefaces included.
Two books can also be similar.
It's like if I mentioned Frodo and you were like "are you talking about Frodo from The Fellowship of the Ring - you DUMBASS - I'm talking about Frodo from Return of the King.
I'm somewhat familiar with the history of typefacing (at least relative to the common person) - many typefaces are descendants of other typefaces. I recommend the book "Thinking with Type" if you're curious. A font doesn't not exist in a bubble. You're wrong on this.

I live in a place that's really lame for concerts (Cincinnati, OH). I really doubt they'll be through here since it seems like they're hitting the huge cities like NYC or places in Europe a lot and that really bums me out. I think "Iodine and Iron" is my favorite song.
Since you're just now finding out about their relationship with season three, check out this playlist on Mixcloud made by WelcomeToTwinPeaks. That's how I found out about them. There's a lot of good stuff in there with a similar vibe.
This is pretty great. If anyone is interested in downloading as a full mix, do the following:
This will unfortunately not separate the list by tracks, but it's still kind of nice.
However, I do strongly encourage supporting the various artists that you find to your liking by buying their songs as directly as possible.
Don't want to sound ungrateful but those tracks are missing proper metadata and are arranged in alphabetical order instead of numerical like the original.
If you prefer a better organized soundtrack, this torrent is what you're looking for (plus it has the cover art).
This reminds me of the story Lynch told about covering a dead cat in tar and leaving it in the dirt, then coming back later to find it was the perfect marriage of tar impregnated cat with earth. It's part of the Eraserhead Stories you can watch here. The story is around the 1:03:00 mark.

Thanks for compiling these tunes which straddle dreams into nightmares! Not on Spotify, but I reckon you might enjoy the collaboration between Stéphane Pigeon and myself, aptly titled "Twin Black Lodges":

It's a generative ambient soundscape in the vein of Brian Eno, channeled through Badalamenti's Lynchian travels into those dark woods. Play with with the sliders!
""It is no exaggeration to say that Twin Peaks is the great political work of our time," says Cahiers du cinéma editor Stéphane Delorme. His editorial introduces the latest issue of the magazine, which features Laura Dern in David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks: The Return on the cover. Alas, its the only piece published online."
Bruce said it was his favorite gig of all time. I have the complete series on DVD. Bowler's low chuckle still gets me.

Yep, there are three models of recorders seen at various times (and two types of tapes). Pretty easy and cheap to find on eBay if you look. Here's a good site with examples of each - yourprops. I think most people get the necklace from somewhere like here on Amazon. The chain would just need to be replaced with a leather one like in the show.
The most common props I see people posting pictures of are the tape recorders, Great Northern room key, Saturn lamp, best friends necklace, and stuff like the 'Have you seen this man?' flyer or framed Laura pictures. I would also like to get one of the calculators as seen in that link above ('HE DID NOT DO IT').
The holy grail to me would be tracking down the furniture pieces in the Red Room (under the assumption they were also found pieces and not custom made).
if you live in the states (idk about outside the US) but Amazon has “the entire mystery” on blu-ray for under 23 bucks! it contains the pilot, Season 1 and 2, Fire Walk With Me, and The Missing Pieces (a 90minute cut of deleted scenes put together by Lynch)
I just saw a post about this on Twitter. You can preorder it on Amazon and it comes out in October.

Forward by Sheryl Lee.
"Laura’s Ghost: Women Speak About Twin Peaks is an examination of Laura Palmer’s legacy on the 30th anniversary of Twin Peaks. Palmer’s character was one of the few frank and horrific representations of sexual abuse victims which did not diminish the strength and complexity of the victim. Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer, discusses the challenges of the role and how it has impacted herself as well as women she has met over the years, many of whom are survivors of sexual abuse."
Hello r/TwinPeaks, I've been working on a Twin Peaks fan-game for the past 2 years and it finally came out. It takes place at the season 2 finale when >!Dale Cooper enters the red room.!<
The game is focused on exploration and finding secrets in the >!"Red Room".!< The game features 12 rooms with 7 endings hidden within. More details can be found on the itch.io page linked above.

I know this can be seen as blatant self-promotion but i hope you'll let it slide since it is Twin Peaks related and the game is completely free. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the game. I also encourage you to tell me what you thought about it after playing since i'd love to hear it.
There's a certain 4.5 hour long youtube video that sparks a lot of debate around here.
No matter what you read or watch, remember the majority of it is up for your own interprutation. But Mark Frost did release two books that some would argue are canon and some would argue otherwise. The Final Dossier covers some things from The Return.
Trying to come up with answers is half the fun of Twin Peaks - enjoy!
I want to rewatch season 3 but I didn't like it much when it aired. I know it's not the popular opinion. If I ever collect my thought I may post about it but for me the end of FWWM was it. The final scene with Laura in the white lodge crying and laughing was all the resolution I needed.
Anyway that game is the kind of thing I'd like to see these books made as.
Unfortunately, Showtime's been planning to retire The Return for a while. I think this may be a permanent decision (or at least a long-term one).
If you don't want to torrent the season, it's available on Amazon. ~$30 on Blu-ray, ~$20 on DVD. https://www.amazon.com/Twin-Peaks-Limited-Event-Blu-ray/dp/B076M4XM6H/
i read the book with the same name as the website OP linked during the start of the pandemic. Hazel Irene Drew was found dead in Teal's Pond in the late summer of 1908. autopsy by three doctors reported she had had sex with multiple partners hours before her death and she possibly had be choked to death. she had quit her job only days before, went up and down the capitol region of NY via the train/ferry with her friend for the July celebrations, and then disappeared up that way to possibly see her uncle.
during the summer of 2020 i made a trip over to Averil Park (bored and alone during quarantine), up Taborton Rd until i went down the hollow and around the bend, and found Teal's Pond. i couldn't take a picture; the road's shoulder wasn't big enough to stop and get out, but it's there. blink and you'd miss it
To ask is always the desire to know.
Yet the preservation of simple human truths require mystery.
I am reminded of the themes explored in a recent 4.5 hour video... closure kills mystery...

If you haven't installed the Reddit Enhancement Suite, check it out. I use it for Chrome but it's available for all of the browsers, I think. Makes the whole website easier to use in general.
I used this website! You have to make an account, but it's free. You only get 5 boards unless you pay, but the size of the board is customizable-- 18,000 x 18,000 pixels so far for me and counting!

I'd agree engine oil is a "troubling abstraction" of coffee. Cooper wants to see the good side of black coffee, more deeply his destiny is to go into that darkness to get the light that he believes is at the end of it. Cheers

here are some tips for the game, I hate playing shit with a guide but this one helps a lot, as the map is the only thing not translated.
Really interesting game, everything is in semi-real time so you have to be very strict with your schedule, as all the characters have their own schedules and are only at certain places at certain times.

And the most recent September day that Las Vegas reached 110 was September 8, 1979.

In a weird way, maybe? But only in the weirdest way. Jacques Rivette -- the French film director who was an acknowledged influence* on Lynch, had this to say after seeing FWWM, though he had never seen seasons 1&2 (because he didn't own a television):
>“I have no idea what happened, I have no idea what I saw,” said Jacques Rivette after seeing Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. “I left the theater floating six feet above the ground.” (from https://mubi.com/notebook/posts/lynch-rivette-les-filles-du-feu-twin-peaks-fire-walk-with-me-and-joan-the-maid)
So, if you want to be like Rivette, go ahead. I bet he would have adored S3.
I heard it on this ambient music show this morning: https://www.mixcloud.com/astrangelyisolatedplace/isolatedmix-53-anders-ilar/ There were some other good cuts on there though not in the text book TP style of jazz over a droning synth and brushed snares like this one :)
The religious traditions of the Niimíipuu, the Nez Perce people, trace their origin to the mythic emergence of the Netíitelwit, the first human beings to inhabit the earth. The emergence of the Netíitelwit brought to an end the existence of powerful mythic beings and signaled the beginning of a world inhabited by ordinary humans. A principal myth celebrates this transformation and is known among the Nez Perce as the climactic episode in a long series of encounters in which 'Itseyéeye (Coyote) slays a mythic being too powerful and dangerous for the emerging Netíitelwit. The dismembered remains of this slain being embody the cultural landscape as Tim'néepe (Heart Place), Sit'éexspe (Liver Place), and Qaháspa (Breast Place) and locate the mythic emergence of the Netíitelwit on the Clearwater River of north-central Idaho.
Through the mythic emergence of the Netíitelwit, a core Nez Perce cosmology is conceived. The universe is distinctly defined as including the realm of humans and a former world inhabited by supernatural entities. Its structure is mediated by a deep time separation whereby the mythic past remotely precedes the human present. Though rare, this time separation is sometimes breached by accounts of supernatural entities coexisting with and coming into contact with ordinary humans. Nez Perce oral traditions, known as titwatitnáawit, reinforce this notion of mythic time as an enduring continuum between two possible worlds. The more immediate social value of titwatitnáawit, however, is to impart fundamental knowledge about the world and its living inhabitants in addition to basic human values and beliefs.
> Reading the statements made that you've quoted and looking over the study, there is definitely correlation between TM investment and one's perspective. Strength of commitment and time invested can contribute to the kind of answers given to questions not necessarily through feeling those answers, perhaps never having felt them, but through adoption of the philosophical core of the TM movement.
Did you miss the correlation between the physiological process that TM brings about during and outside of meditation, and the change in sense-of-self?
WHich just happens to coincidentally be related to DMN activity?
.
And the first study on TM style enlightenmetn was not what I linked to but a case study on 6 TMers who were consulting with a psychiatrist over a strange change in sense-of-self that emerged out of their TM practice:
https://sci-hub.do/10.1080/00332747.1990.11024497
.
The case-study subjects had apparently missed the one-sentence descirption of enlgihtenment given at the end of the fourth day of TM instruction, roughly: "It seems plausible that the changes found during meditation might someday become permanent outside of meditation."
The idea that TM enlightenment is NOT the "real deal," while what you and the moderators of /r/buddhism believe is the real deal IS the real deal is a controversy that has raged for several thousand years.
.
Interesting that you are certain that TM's enlightenment is due to philosophical stuff, while your enlightenment is not.
"Fish in the Percolator" does not lend itself to a good tasting brewski. Oddly enough, after a bit of googling it appears another guy had the same idea as me:
Although he's based in Florida (or Brooklyn, or he moved). Hopefully I'll get out more than the two he put out.
This one is probably your best bet, in my opinion. Looks like it comes with all the pieces needed to scan those negatives.
There's this book of women writers' essays on Twin Peaks, and Sheryl Lee wrote a very personal introduction to it about the experience she had playing Laura as well as a poem about the powerful presence this character has had in her own life. I'm sure she would be really touched if you brought that for her to sign.
I'm gonna have to paint it white but can you BELIEVE I actually found a tiny frickin' Black Lodge Venus statue?!?!?!

It's a tougher movie to find a place to rent it online. However, Amazon UK has DVD copies for £9.02. You should not watch season three without first seeing FWWM.
As others have said: Netflix has the first two. But I will say that "The Entire Mystery" bluray set looks about a hundred times better than what they've got on Netflix. It was like experiencing an entirely different, noticeably better, show (and it's only like 20 bucks on Amazon, and includes the movie and Missing Pieces)
A blu-ray player is not expensive these days, and the upgrade in visual and audio is massive, not just for Twin Peaks, for literally anything you'd buy in the future for years to come. Anyone buying DVDs very much has the ability to also buy blu-rays. Also DVDs...they aren't gonna make those things much more. Blu-rays too but I think there's still a lot of good years left at least for those.
This one is only $85:
Seems to be quite cheap on Amazon at the moment.
The Secret History is good to read before season three but can be read after just as well (although it definitely should be read after the movie, not before), while The Final Dossier is specifically post-season. Neither is 100% necessary but they do fill in a few blanks. What happened to Leo (dead, but not how you think), Annie (alive, but not how you think), Audrey (aha...Buckle up) and some of the doppelganger's moves between season two and three.
I'd recommend Secret History far more than the Dossier overall. It adds a wealth of background to the town, several characters (spanning both seasons and movie), even some of those soapy random newcomers from season two get great new stuff.
They seem to have doubled in price, but if you don't mind an open box, there are a few for a "reasonable collector" price on Amazon

I recently got this on on Amazon, but don't like the design as much as the pic above:
Bit of a warning though, these are the cheap Chinese knock-offs. The clear acrylic in them is really cheap and tends to come with a few scratches in it.
There's a version that's twice the price per frame which probably doesn't have that problem.
They're screenshots of individual pages of the book (with some pages excluded). The relevant chapter is the final one I believe. I did not read all the available pages. You should be able to click on the book image on the Amazon page to access the "Look Inside!" preview pages. I don't have any special access rights myself.
I believe the actual listing for the original box set is as follows: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IKH6O3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_xaW2CbTT4S3M0
The Swedish import could be a comparable edition, but I truly have no idea. The link I provided obviously shows the edition as out of print, with a few third party sellers with copies available.
EBay might be a better bet. Good luck!
For anyone who wants to watch it but it's blocked in your country, you can use a free VPN like the one in the Opera browser. I just watched it using TunnelBear with it set to Canada.
I've seen the few different versions of the film Brazil which is a classic example of how editing can drastically change a film, yet I still get amazed whenever I see an alternate edit of a film (Star Wars, Halloween 6, being other examples) and see how small changes greatly change the feel and pacing.
This pilot is definitely worth a watch for any Lynch fan or any film student who has seen the movie version to compare against. The pilot is good, especially by television standards, but is a far cry from the genius of the film version, which I hold up as one of his very best works. Even though I'm very curious to see where a series would have taken the story and these characters, I think the pilot not being picked up and it getting reimagined into a movie was the best thing to happen to it.

The episode was "Laura's Secret Diary". It's the only episode credited to four writers, because Frost/Peyton/Engels rewrote the whole thing together in a hurry, but they kept Stahl's name on it as well.

I think I finally found it again. It's been awhile since I've seen it. He doesn't directly say he's split, but he does confirm that the other Cooper is part of him and one part is with Bob.
It's from Lynch on Lynch, p. 183: https://www.amazon.com/Lynch-Revised-Chris-Rodley/dp/0571220185/
Interviewer: So, was Cooper occupied by Bob in the script before you changed it?
Lynch: No, but Coop wasn't occupied by Bob. Part of him was. There are two Coops in there, and the one that came out was, you know, with Bob.
Here's another quote from the same interview:
INTERVIEWER: Why was Cooper possessed by Bob at the end? It seems like he’s lost it.
LYNCH: Well the thing is he hasn’t been possessed. It’s the doppelgänger thing, the idea of two sides to everyone, he’s really up against himself.
'Le Quattro Volte' is incredible. Only thing I've seen since The Return that comes close to capturing that elusive feeling...
>LE QUATTRO VOLTE (The Four Times) is an ineffably beautiful meditation on the mysterious cycles of life. Set in Italy's mountainous region of Calabria, it traces the path of one goat herder's soul, as it passes from human to animal to vegetable to mineral.
