That looks delicious!
I highly recommend this egg timer to avoid over cooking your eggs. That green ring around the yolk means they’re chalky and sulphuric. You’ll enjoy them even more cooked for less time.
Working out, skiing, ice-skating, volleyball (or whatever local sports clubs you have), bowling, reading, brushing up some language skills, planning next weekend getaway/dream vacation, calling up old friends, Escape the Room, there's a lot!
Meetup.com and Groupon usually have good ideas.
I found that Natural Calm helped the most with bloating. I like to drink it with warm water and lemon after dinner. (I like the flavors better - but since they contain stevia, the unflavored is the only one that is W30 compliant) https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Vitality-Anti-Stress-Supplement-Raspberry/dp/B00BPUY3W0
Nut pods are the brand name of a non dairy creamer. They're made from almonds, cashews and have original, hazelnut and a few other flavors. Pricier than dairy creamer for sure but worth checking out.
I've found the Sift app to be extremely useful. You can scan the barcode and it will "decode" the ingredients and let you know if there are sugars, additives, etc...

Cooked this using a recipe from Real Plans as a base.
Ingredients - leftover pork and turkey bacon (about 4 strips) - 2 links Trader Joe's Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage - 2 russet potatoes - 2 red bell peppers - 1 onion - 4 eggs - coconut oil and bacon grease (or whatever fat you have)
Directions: Chop onions and bell peppers in about 1/2 inch dice. Chop bacon to 1/2-ish inch pieces.
Place potatoes in a pan and cover with water (+1-2 inches). Simmer on stove until softened.
Place sausage links in a small nonstick pan and fill halfway with water. Simmer on stove, turning occasionally. When water is gone, remove from pan, let cool and slice into bite-sized pieces.
In a large nonstick pan, melt 1/2 tablespoon of fat. Add onions and cook till softened. Once softened, add sausage and bacon and cook, browning the sausage a bit and crimping the bacon.
Remove onion mixture from pan and wipe pan. When potatoes are done, drain, cool, and cut in 1/2 inch dice.
Melt 1/2 tablespoon fat in pan, and add potatoes, cooking until they are browned and crispy on all sides.
Return onion and meat mixture to pan. Add peppers, stir and cook until heated through and peppers are done to your liking. 5-7ish minutes.
When finished, fry eggs one serving at a time (I gave 2 eggs per bowl). Fill bowl with hash and place eggs on top. Garnish with parsley, green onions and / or chives.
I used chosen foods from amazon grocery. I also tried Primal Kitchen and also attempted to make my own and it just didn't work out for me. I got my jar for ~$9 ish but it was worth it to not have to worry about it and not make an additional item from scratch.
What kept me going was that the “achy” feeling went away. I didnt not know one of the food groups I eliminated was causing the pain I felt. I thought it was age but turns out it was food.
If you haven’t already, I suggest you read It Starts with Food book, it help me...
I didnt notice a significant weight loss until day 18... I do weight myself everyday and is the only Whole 30 rule I break 😬
Why is the reason you stop doing it?!
I was never able to complete one until I read their book It Starts With Food. It help me understand why they eliminated the things they did. It helped me commit to the Whole 30. Their published Whole 30 timeline also helps a lot. Go to day 10-11 and you will be amazed.
I once read an article by Melissa where she mentions the Whole 30 is a commitment you do with yourself and you owe it to yourself to complete it.
I got mine at Costco in a 2 pack. But they are "Misto" brand and you can get them on Amazon Misto Brushed Aluminum Olive Oil Sprayer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004SPZV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_GCTZyb2QTBWYD
So I've been thinking about the same thing recently. I plan on making my own freezer bag meals in quart size freezer ziplocks and reconstituting with boiling water in the field in a cozy (this is the cozy I have: https://www.amazon.com/Big-Sky-International-Insulite-Metallic/dp/B00Y4TZ0UI). You can buy all the bulk dried and freeze-dried ingredients on Amazon.
I am also planning on experimenting with prepared Paleo backpacking meals: https://paleomealstogo.com/. They are expensive, though!
My goto is going to be nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and dried coconut milk for cereal in the morning, packaged individually in quart size ziplock with cold filtered water added in the field, then a meal of freeze-dried meat and veggies in the evening. I will also heavily lean on Lara bars, homemade or store bought depending on my level of motivation.
When I am backpacking, I rely heavily on olive oil to boost calories. I carry a separate squeezable container of olive oil and add it to everything I eat. There is nothing that gives you a bigger punch of calories for the weight than olive oil.

Try Nutpods in any flavor they have! Whole30 approved & makes coffee taste as amazing as it can w/o sugar. nutpods Variety 3-Pack, Unsweetened Dairy-Free Creamer, Whole30, Paleo, Keto, Non-GMO & Vegan, for Coffee, Tea & Cooking, made from almond and coconut
I use the Android app and LOVE it. Make sure you still read the labels anyway, in case something slips past (like whey protein did). They try to keep it up to date though.

https://www.amazon.com/Water-Joe-Caffeinated-Caffeine-Substitute/dp/B01LZXTDBF
It’s a bit pricey on Amazon. I can find it locally for half as much.
Depending on what the water tastes like near you, you may be Amy to drink it straight. For me it’s a little too “minerally”, but if I do a 50/50 mix with the water I usually drink, I don’t notice it at all.
For reference, one 20oz bottle of this stuff is 70mg of caffeine while 20oz of Diet Coke is also 70mg.
It has made it easier to ween off caffeine as well. I’m down to 70mg per day vs the 300+ I was doing before.
My favorite is coconut cream. This one specifically, I get it at the local farmer’s market:
Humm Kombucha makes a Whole30 approved kombucha and I’ve been drinking it almost daily this round! This little device has significantly cut down on my prep time, I love it: Vegetable Chopper, Onion Chopper, Mandolin Slicer,Pro 10 in 1professional food Choppermultifunctional Vegetable Chopper and Slicer, Dicing Machine, AdjustableVegetable Cutter With Container(grey) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y8DYT6P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5VBG5TKP40B81XTXS4A8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
There’s a Korean Paleo cookbook on Amazon that looks really good and has great reviews. I was going to purchase it along with the I Heart Umami cookbook.
I just made turkey burgers with a spicy pineapple relish using this recipe from The Frugal Paleo Cookbook. I used ground turkey instead of ground pork because it's what I had on hand. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!
I hope this link works.. it's kind of long and crazy. https://books.google.com/books?id=IQGhBAAAQBAJ&pg=PT96&lpg=PT96&dq=aloha+sliders+pineapple+relish&source=bl&ots=MbNgq2RB7w&sig=1ACO800Hy2OfeDxC20ek-WVTqug&hl=en&sa=X&ei=fE7EVNfpI8itoQSMyoKwDQ&ved=0CEUQ6AEwBw...
If there's a Trader Joe's near you and you like spice, try their curry simmer sauce (this one -- not the green). Throw it in the crockpot with up to a pound and a half of any kind of meat (I made it with short ribs yesterday, but it also works great with chicken thighs or lamb). The directions say to add a cup of water but I use a half cup. That's the whole recipe and it's delicious. Slow cook while you are at work. Sometimes I put in chopped spinach at the end of the cook time. Goes great over cauliflower rice. You'll get 3 or more meals out of it.
LifeHacker is a dubious source but this article cites other sources and in a quick google search I cant find anything to support your claim that sparkling water is somehow worse for hydration than 'regular' water:

Just looked - seems to be on Amazon!
Sorry too - on mobile & I keep opening the link in my Amazon app so sharing the Google link lol
This guide to vegetarian whole 30 helped me. Pretty nice vegetarian ideas https://www.amazon.com/Whole-Food-Diet-Vegetarian-Cookbook-ebook/dp/B08VDPTHZC/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
i love the big tubs i eat tht stuff all the time if you wanna get it from amazon they have a pretty good deal RX Nut Butter, Vanilla Almond... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QBSWNFN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I buy them on Amazon and bring them in my purse.
At Sushi restaurants, I order just raw fish.
Safe Travels!
I buy this Masa Harina on Amazon. Which I’ve found has the perfect texture and I use the recipe on the bag. I think i 3/4 cup of water for every cup of masa harina.
Here is another recipe with Step by Step pictures
Yes. We just got it for Christmas. It worked so well abs comes with a cut proof glove and a safety. (I was pretty intimidated by the idea of a mandoline, but this one is very easy). Here is the link: Mandoline Slicer with Cut-Resistant Gloves and Blade Guard – Adjustable Mandolin Vegetable Slicer and French Fry Cutter, Food Slicer, Vegetable Julienne – Thick Sharp Stainless Steel Blades https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JYCRSHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_VNq.FbR5DX57V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I julienne them with the biggest attachment setting on my mandolin so they’re really thin (you can hand slice them too, it just takes a while and a sharp knife to make them thin), spray avocado oil down and salt em, then I bake them at 425 for 15 , flip em, then another 10-15 mins.
Also these sheet trays are amazing at making things crispy. Worth it.
That was one of the book I got, I also got The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom and The Whole30 Cookbook: 150 Delicious and Totally Compliant Recipes to Help You Succeed with the Whole30 and Beyond

Just found the Amazon link for it.. it's probably more pricey & isn't sold separately but the macaroon flavor sounds good as well (maybe it's compliant?)
I've had this one for over a year and LOVE it so much that we are considering buying a second one. From what I've heard from others, it's got one of the largest fry baskets they've seen on an air fryer (I can fit an entire chicken in it). I'm doing a whole30 round right now and I use it maybe twice a day. It's amazing in the summer because we can cook great meals and not heat up the entire house from running the oven/stove. It took me some time to trust it but you really can cook just about anything in it.
Don't make whole 30 become Keto. I went too low on carbs and it was a disaster for me.
I added fruits and potatoes and it worked miraculous for me. Never felt better but truth is I think it was lack of fruits that was killing me. Adding fruits made the difference for me.
It's a corny documentary and not well made technically but the experts in it are amazing: Watch https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Human-Diet-C-J-Hunt/dp/B00AX4QEAS
It will teach you a lot about how we evolved to eat and it's basically whole 30 explained scientifically.
I seem to only be able to find it on Amazon. Here's the giant bag I got! (I use it it soooo many things.)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYFLIA9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We all know W30 means you’re probably going to be eating a lot of eggs. I got this egg cooker on Amazon and it’s been soooo nice for quick eggs. We always have hard boiled eggs on hand now, and if we want poached eggs or an omelette we can just set it up and come back when it’s done.
We all are probably spending a lot of time cooking, and it’s nice to have something that can give us a little bit of a break.
I was blending it with my Ninja I bought an electric handheld milk frother off amazon and I love it!! You could totally buy one for work. I’ll link it for you:
Congrats on the progress! I’m not a big fan of flavored seltzers, but the grapefruit flavored Spindrift sparkling water was so clutch for me kicking my soda/juice addiction. I now buy them by the case on Amazon, can’t recommend it enough!
Spindrift Sparkling Water,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077BHYQ8W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is the one I have! I've had it for years and use it often and it still works!
We started making our own and never went back. I also don’t buy ranch or Caesar dressing anymore. They are so fast and simple to make and taste way better than store bought. I use this immersion blender KitchenAid KHB2351OB 3-Speed Hand Blender - Onyx Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MMNB6G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sQ0qCbYWV07SH. I’ve had it for probably 5 years and it is a work horse.
This would probably do the trick: Nordic Naturals, Omega-3, Lemon, 1560 mg, 16 fl oz (473 ml) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002WTCLHC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_RWCSAbBGN7T9J
There are a few other brands that also do a liquid.
Agreed! I'm listening to The Power of Habit audiobook now and it's helping me get through day 6 and my first weekend (rough times for my food decisions). It's helping a ton! I'd definitely suggest it to anyone trying to find ways to build their willpower muscles.
My favorite gadget is my spiralizer! It makes vegetables so much more enjoyable to eat and gives the illusion of more volume.
We do wraps with these https://www.amazon.com/Siete-Cassava-Coconut-Tortillas-Approved/dp/B01DETJ4LY, slaws, salmon spread, Horitaki (which is technically salad I guess), fruit salad, ants on a log, Olive dishes and things like prosciutto wrapped melon or smoked salmon.
We haven't had a real salad in months, I guess we can heat up most things but if not we eat the others I listed.
R1D18: I got some Crio Bru roasted, ground cacao that brews like coffee, and it is such a treat. Pre-whole30, it would have been impossible to drink without sweetener and cream, but a couple of weeks in, and it is lovely. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01796N5IG
We're prepping for a 2 night camping trip, so I thought I'd share my menu plan. Kids are eating our food plus gf bread, rice, etc. Wish us luck!! The weather looks crummy, but the kids are too excited to cancel without actual thunderstorms.

Can you share the recipe for the enchiladas?
Amazon has a great one for the kitchenaid... KitchenAid KSM1APC Spiralizer Attachment with Peel, Core and Slice https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XPRRHYW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_chTZybQVDBFZ4
I am on my third round and drink my coffee black now...but, prior to W30, I poured a ton of vanilla CoffeeMate in there. While just typing that still makes me salivate, I am fine with black coffee now. It definitely got easier after a few days. You might also consider ordering nutpods. They're a great W30 approved creamer.
Also do you have access to an oven? I know you put you have the stove top but not sure if you have an actual oven. If so, definitely get a casserole dish (something like this) - it will be helpful if you do plan on cooking dishes in bulk.
It seems like you are in pretty good shape in terms of new cooking supplies and grocery lists. My biggest piece of advice would be to plan, plan, plan for the week! Go to r/MealPrepSunday for tips on how to meal plan. I use a OneNote notebook to track everything...what I'm eating for each meal, what I need to buy at the grocery store, my favorite recipes and snacks, etc. If you want I can share with you what I use. But I think a key for you will be to make sure you plan ahead and figure out what you need for the week.
Also make sure you have plenty of tupperware if you do bulk prep...I currently use these.
Not sure how long you are planning to run, but SaltStick caps may be good for electrolytes https://www.amazon.com/SaltStick-Electrolyte-Replacement-Capsules-Supplement/dp/B002IY96B0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483455835&sr=8-3&keywords=salt+tablets And dates are an excellent fuel source for mid-run pick me up (and they are portable).
My coworker felt the exact same way. He was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease as well, about 3 years ago. He then discovered Nourishing Traditions, a book that taught him how to eat for the health of his body. He follows the thoughts and recipes in this book exactly and has not had an issue with his Crohn's flairing up for almost the entirety of those three years after the switch. It took about 6-8 weeks before he noticed it really benefiting him, but he hasn't gone back and says that as long as he is on this diet, he will never have to worry about medication and complications again.
I hope this can help you too. Goodluck!
