We can't sir. Our penguins have become docile. They have this content, braindead expression. I don't think they've felt hunger in 20 years. [+]
If I may be so bold as to propose an idea. The ASL sign for the number '6' is also the sign for the letter 'W' and it looks like this. Perhaps some variation of this sign should be included in our banner?
kolourpaint is pretty much a MS paint clone.
If it's about fun...might want to have a look at tuxpaint...aimed at kids but still fun to use even if you are a bit older ;) Comes with endless "stamps"...though you might want to turn off the sound ;)
Install Tux Paint - it's loads of fun and can teach children many basic computer skills like mouse use, drag and drop, saving/loading files, etc.
Trust me, you'll have fun with it too!
^^^Just turn your speakers down or it'll drive you insane.
Well, you can buy this 3D bullshit, but they're not selling the one from your childhood. Tuxpaint is a free program that kinda looks similar and runs on Win, Mac, and Linux but looks way less fun. I can't find a legal way to obtain it now.
I installed this on the girls' laptop and they love it. It has some Flash games and is a child-filtered portal to Youtube clips (strictly stuff like dancing pets, Taylor Swift, etc). My only complaint is they're purely ad-based, but no worse than the commercials they have to sit through during television shows or through the intro of Disney movies.
My kids surf the net using KidZui. It is actually an awesome little application. Parental controls, weekly reports of activity emailed to your inbox, and it restricts content based on the age of the child, up to age 14. I would never dream of letting my kids surf on anything but KidZui. And to top all that awesomeness, it's free to download.
Here ya go! http://www.kidzui.com/
A completely different programme that my own kids loved when they were young is TuxPaint. It is a free painting programme designed for kids. It looks a bit old fashioned but I doubt that your four year old will mind and it will run on a toaster. You can download it free from here: http://www.tuxpaint.org/
It isn't strictly a game but Tux Paint was a huge hit with my girls when they were that age: http://www.tuxpaint.org/
I suspect she is still a bit young for the Sims because it is quite complex and requires a good attention span.
Minecraft played in peaceful mode is another option.
I have yet to actually use this myself (my seven year old doesn't yet use a computer at home but we were thinking of wiping the laptop for him soon) but http://www.kidzui.com/ is something we were looking into. Then we could just password protect anything that wasn't the browser, I would think.
Thanks for all the feedback. Yes I will be locking down his PC both by using DNS and I will be installing http://www.kidzui.com/ for a lot of his browsing habits. I will also be installing chrome, and some parental software to make sure he stays safe.
I use kidzui for my 7 year old. It has kid safe games and web sites. From what I understand all the content is approved by humans. They also send you reports showing the sites visited, search terms, and the like.
