I was having considerable issues running 4K media and after I got my 970 I knew something was up beyond my hardware.
Turns out VLC can barely handle 4k media.
I use this and have had much better luck. Occasional stuttering, but closing background application really helps.

Did you forget about RealPlayer? But even being fair, I searched for "video players" on Google, the 2nd on this list is 5kplayer. And guess what? It's got ads!
If you want to add your own music collections to iPhone (not Apple music), using music app then finder app. on music app go to file > new > playlist, then drag songs into that playlist. Then on finder, you will see the newly created playlist, sync it to iPhone. if you manage songs with itunes library, go to ~Music/iTunes/username/Music/iTunes and add them to playlist in music app. here is a detailed tutorialdetailed tutorial.

Which apparently allows your PC to play from an airplay source. Put your phone on the same WiFi network as the pc, set the phone to airplay, and it should show up.
