There are no 100% secure systems... i agree. But the issue here is this one:
Hosting in the US can let somebody put a server before the crypto.cat machine, inside the colocation facility. As the SSL is used to check the identity of the site, you can get a signed cert just asking to Comodo or whatever. Then all the data will be intercepted, using that key cryptos, then encrypted again using crypto.cat's key and sent to real crypto.cat server... and no need to crack it or anything.
This has been made before, in fact it's pretty known for crypto geeks and social activists all around the world http://www.autistici.org/ai/crackdown/index.html So, it's not my paranoia/imagination, it's history.
Please, don't recommend this kind of stuff.
Here are a couple of anarchist groups who are more skeptical of the Rojava revolution:
And autistici got mitm for a year http://www.autistici.org/ai/crackdown
I don't really get why europe is more trustable than the US, there are several cases of server seized in that territory too. The good thing is that last year the data retention directive they had which made them log 6 months every mail account movement and phone calls.
But the US doesn't even have a data retention law.
And the Europe doesn't have the NSA argument... but they also have laws to implant backdoors on servers or put a machine in fron to mitm connections... or they work directly with the NSA on these issues (like swiss NDB and it's onyx program).
Currently no jurisdiction will help you with that, what you have to look there is which of them control the place where the servers are so you can know when something fucked up happens, and take actions acording to that.
NoBlogs and Network23 offer free simple WordPress websites for activists. They are security consciousness and will respect your privacy (i.e. not logging your details, IP address etc.).
If you're a bit more technologically savvy, Autistici/Inventati offer hosting space. You can build your own website and upload it or use a CMS (like Wordpress or Drupal).

> Autistici/Inventati server compromised - The cryptographic services offered by the Autistici/Inventati server have been compromised on 15th June 2004. It was discovered on 21st June 2005. One year later. During an enquiry on a single mailbox, the Postal Police may have tapped for a whole year every user's private communication going through the server autistici.org/inventati.org.
Its mostly one anarcho-syndicalist from the Czech Republic going by the handle of "Anti war" or "Guerre de Classe". The actual person/group is Třídní Válka. They also seem influenced by Left Communism.
There are also a handful of Left Communists there who are anti-Rojava, a couple of them are from Turkey.
In this case, its not a shit article actually written by Třídní Válka. but rather one from a pro-Islamist/Islamist apologist that Třídní Válka is publishing on LibCom because its anti-Rojava. Though they will most likely try to incorporate all the negatives in into an article of their own.
They seem fairly obsessed with criticizing Rojava and often engage in intellectual dishonesty to do so.
Its very curious.
Funnily enough, early on the wrote or published a couple pieces that were enthusiastic about the Syrian Civil War where they penned their hopes for the proletariat on the Free Syrian Army.

Well, all of these privacy companies, VPNs, e-mail, etc, are only as good as their reputation. I have no idea of how reliable neomailbox is, but I've used http://www.autistici.org/en/index.html for about a year.
Here are some that others have recommended:
http://www.autistici.org/en/index.html
I seem to remember that one of these asked for a lot of info, but none of it except username and password was required.
Unfortunately, there is no "safe" standard email site. To use email safely, you need to create an account on a site that is free and does not block Tor access. All messages you send and receive via that email address should be encrypted using PGP.
Some sites that people have recommended:
http://www.autistici.org/en/index.html
Always use Tor when accessing whatever site you choose to use, or your home IP address will be associated with an email account that is communicating via encrypted messages with a known drug dealer.
I had a go at them over reaperservice, they told me it's not important because nobody else complained.
I modified all the data in the files long ago and set them read only.
I also disabled the services that run as part of their software. The main one is "ReaperService" under "User Experience". (I have an app that disables services within software)
I also have a firewall so even if the data was present it goes nowhere.
It had harvested my name, address, gps coordinates, all software I use.. it had a lot of personal data. It's malware.
They have been doing this for a while and just move it when they get busted.
Add this to your hosts file in /etc

>How does this post in anyway connect to the material reality of those living under oppression?
This was my instinct when reading the post. Are we really to imagine that Jesus would have told the insurgents in Venezuela this year, for example, to lay down their arms, embrace their President and walk away from the mercenaries of the state that were hellbent on attacking them?

hi #/u/jishjib22kys! Can you try downloading the SSL cert from here and see if you are able to verify too. I will be more confident if you can as well. The SHA key should match from your dig
command to the output of this command
openssl x509 -in ~/Downloads/ca.crt -fingerprint -sha256 -noout | cut -d= -f2 | tr -d :
where ~/Downloads/ca.crt
is the location of the certificate you downloaded.
Maybe that command is wanting port 443 and tcp protocol
If I try :# dig +short +dnssec autistici.org
I get some useful output
